    HAWAII 5-0 S3 FINALE, followed by the s2 and s1 finales as well :)

    Loved Fringe s2 and s3 finale, and NCIS LA s4 finale, Criminal Minds s3 finale (maybe too old lol)

    I get that but he seems to have added Home and Away season finale but Fringe, BrBa and TWD don't make the cut?

    I really miss Supernatural on this list. Both the S1 finale where the Impala was crushed by the semi, as well as the S3 finale with Dean going to hell stand out for me as the best cliffhangers ever. Closely followed by the Fringe S3 finale with Peter being wiped from existence.

    Netflix's House of Cards is my favorite right now


    Scandal's cliffhanger this season just gone is set up really nicely for next season

    Otherwise some of the better cliffhangers I've seen come from House MD, Castle, and Person of Interest

    Lots of problems with this. What's recent? House Season 6 didn't have a cliff-hanger, he hallucinated his affair with Cuddy in the Season 5 finale. That was 2009. Does that mean I can include the Dexter Season 4 finale?



    On this list, I chose the recent Doctor Who cliffhanger.

    Peter's erasure from existence is certainly the best cliffhanger I've ever seen. Also S2's Olivia swap and S1's Twin Towers/Parallel Universe reveal are still two great cliffhangers.

    Depends on what we mean by recent years but I am counting Lost S3 that was amazing and completely changed what we knew about the show.

    Also Fringe S2 was pretty epic with Olivia trapped in the Alt Verse and Liv taking her place.

    Then we have Breaking Bad, I loved the S3 ending with Jesse and the gun and also S5.0 with Hank finding out the truth about Walter.

    Drop Dead Diva season 4 - great cliffhanger, then they cancel the show, then they change their mind and pick it up for another season. It's like a double cliffhanger.

    Outcasts - short lived show, but a great cliffhanger. Sadly canceled and will never know what was to happen.

    Other, Supernatural season 1, I have watched that over and over and still gasp when Baby is crushed and John and boys are out and bleeding.



    Supernatural season 3, Dean hanging on meat hooks in Hell screaming for Sam.


    Supernatural season 7, Dean and Castiel in Purgatory


    Would have gone with Supernatural season 5 as Swan Song is my favorite ep of any show, but they ruined the cliffhanger by showing Sam at the end.


    Final vote goes to Veronica Mars final ep, did Keith win?? Hope the movie answers that question. ;)

    Dexter season 7: Deb murders LaGuerta.

    Warehouse 13 season 3: Artie cryptically suggests the Warehouse isn't gone.

    I dunno as of late, but there's one that has really stuck with me. Alias was a show with many flaws, but I still remember the chill I felt on the season 2 finale. The fight between Sidney and Alison was just superb, and then the kick of Sidney awaking 2 years later with no memories of that time.

    Supernatural season 5, Swan Song. Sam went into the cage and was gone forever, Dean quits hunting, and Sam shows up outside his home. That would be the best, but more recent, Dean and Castiel in Purgatory, season 7.

    The Doctor Who 'one who broke the promise' is the best recently. I liked the plane crash but as a cliffhanger it was resolved quickly and in the episode.

    Fringe S3 Finale - Peter returns from consciously time traveling from another 2026 only to bridge a two universes and then disappears!


    Dexter S6 -Deb finds Dexter in the act.


    Mad Men - Season 5 Finale (this one isn't exactly a cliff hanger, but there's definitely a feeling of not knowing what to expect next) - Megan prepares for 'fairy tale' commercial, while Don walks off the set into a bar only to be asked, "Are you alone?" with "You Live Only Twice" playing between scenes.



    Fringe S2: The Olivia Swap


    True Blood Season 4 Finale: Tara protects Sookie and is shot in the head...



    Person of Interest S1 Finale: Root kidnaps Harold.

    Definitely Alias! I couldn't believe it when Sidney woke up in Hong Kong only to discover a little later Vaughn was married and it was two years later! That blew my mind,what a great twist that was! And that fight scene with i shucks, i cannot remember her name at the moment..her room mate and best friend... :P

    Other: Sherlock series two finale 'The Reichenbach Fall'. One of the best finales I've seen, with a great cliffchanger, and amazing performances by Benedict Cumberbach and Martin Freeman :)

    Did the person who wrote this poll unable to use Spellcheck or punctuation? The number of errors in this poll are astounding. "Impoldes" instead of "Implodes", "Imposible" instead of "Impossible." "Henrey" instead of "Henry", "Shawn World" instead of "Shawn's World", "Elkas Husband" instead of "Elka's Husband", "Howard Leave" instead of "Howard Leaves". Then, we have the worst one, "Plain Crash" instead of "Plane Crash.." Plus some of the titles need question marks behind them. Doesn't anybody check these things before they are posted?

    first off every finale Lost has was better than all these choice. In recent years I would say once upon a time season 1 was pretty great as was Castle season 3 and 5.

    Anyway, I'd say Alphas. It was the kind of show that sucked but you loved to watch it anyway. The cliffhanger was massive - especially because the show got cancelled and it turned into cliffhanger finale. And it was the only cliffhanger that became a major plot device in a Big Bang Theory episode. If that's not epic then I don't know what is.

    Yes. Pam turned her. -But season 4+ got into demons, ghosts, mediums, another reality where time is different, ect so we have all kinds of after life phenomenon.

    Smallville had some pretty good ones, if I remember correctly. The WB was my first foray into network TV so for a while I just kinda assumed that all shows ended their seasons on a cliffhanger. Gilmore Girls' season 5(?) finale - where Lorelai proposed to Luke - was also a favorite.


    And as Beth said, OUAT season 1 and Castle season 3 cliffhangers were also good. I had only been watching Castle for a couple weeks at the time of the season 3 finale but I was still freaking out over Castle's "I love you" and whether or not Beckett survived.

    Lost Season 2 Finale- Whats in the hatch! (ALL episodes had some sort of cliffhanger!!! some were okay, but others were AWESOME)
    Fringe Season 3 Finale- Peter never existed
    Supernatural Season 2 Finale - Killing Azazel, John "appears", Sam dies, awesomeness!
    Heroes Season 1 Finale- all heroes come to Kirby plaza- Peter "explodes"
    TVD Season 1 finale-Katherine's arrival (since S2 ive not been that into the show, but this finale really had me screaming!)
    Revenge Season 2 finale - Emily tells Jack she is Amanda (finally!)
    True Blood Season 5 finale- Bill goes all Billith
    COMMUNITY! -Season 1 finale! Jeff kisses Annie out of the blue!

    im sure there are more awesome ones im forgetting :) but these come to mind!!

    This is one of those questions where my list is eternally growing every time I remember a favorite. First thing that happens...someone mentions Fringe S3 and my brain screams "Yes!" Also, this seasons Grimm finale is on the list. From the options given I picked Eureka, Season 4 The Ship and Doctor Who The One Who Broke the Promise.

    Best cliffhangers have always been Greys Anatomy for me. I also picked Revenge and NCIS.
    And of course Home and Away Charlies death.
    The second most tragic death (for me) is on this Poll: Charlie dies! Chax was just epic and Charlies death was the only way to end that lovestory, nothing else would have made sense. Glad I am not the only home and away fan roaming around here ;-) (most tragic death for me is also from australian tv: Claire Mcleod).

    Yes it is ans australian Soap aring since 25 years. since two years they have had some characters what made this Show more than a Soap (the river Boys). Even if you do not know the Show a lot of popular actors started there:
    Ryan Kwanten (True Blood)
    Luke Mitchell (Tomorrow People)
    Simon Baker (The Mentalist)
    Chris Hemsworth (do not Need to mention his movies)
    Melissa George (Alias)
    Esther Anderson who played Charlie is now on Siberia.
    and Anna Torv played one of the Mcleods Daughters on the Austrlian Show.
    So you should not underestimate the Australien TV ;-)
