- "Fair Enough" - A Stoic death for a stoic character. I literally muttered "DAMN...." when that happened. So fitting and so awesome. - The very last call to Root from the Machine. HELL YESS.
If we're going to go with the comedic scenes, then definitely Reese congratulating the happy couple and that right turn to get to the helicopter. Those two scenes were pure comedy gold. :)
There were so many good moments this episode! I love all interactions: Shaw/Reese, Root/Finch, Carter/Elias. I loved the flashbacks, they were awesome! Also, the last 10 minutes of the episode were so intense!
The best scene in my view was Grace learning of Finch's 'death' and Finch's subsequent reaction. Michael Emerson truly deserves an Emmy for that scene.
Impossible to pick one. Shaw giving Reese the big gun so he feels less inadequate while she's driving the sports car. Reese admitting that the day his life changed was when he kept his mouth shut at the airport and not being too late for Jessica years later. Plus all those listed above. Great episode.
Hands up...how many people picked all of them. :-)
I didn't. I picked 'fairy godmother, 'Carter saves Elias', 'Three phones', 'right turn for helicopter' and 'fair enough'
The Carter saves Elias scene was great from top to bottom. His telling the cop he doesn't get to talk to him...but the guy following the eye for an eye code was solid. Then Carter coming to grips with what she's just done. Great stuff.
The helicopter scene had me chuckling. I looked at the expression on Shaw's face and my first thought was that they'd had to do several takes because someone was laughing. Which would make complete sense because the guys eating their lunch were massively funny.
The final scene between Reese & Finch........Finch apologizing and Reese assuring him he has NOTHING to apologize for........Reese knows he caused his own spiral downward by not answering Jessica til she was out of earshot........it was his choice that precipitated his downfall.
I think I started out with 15 scenes and then narrowed them down to these... So hard to pick scenes for this show! It's just gotten better and better all season!
I have to go with the series of flashback scenes where we learn about Nathan trying to help people and ending with Harold realizing Nathan is right. We get to see how Harold was injured and how Nathan died which all lead up to the scene of Harold having to fake his own death and never see Grace again. This is the whole premise of what we first saw from Harold in the season 1 premiere. Answers are always good for the viewers at some point!
I voted for "fair enough". It's a small thing, but something about that stuck with me. But the one I would have voted for, had I been given the option, would be Elias' speech about fairness and oathbreaking.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Two scenes stood out for me:

ReplyDeleteMaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, tough call. What a great episode. I went for Root arriving too late; that shot of the huge empty room blew me away.

ReplyDeleteAlso, it's spelled "Terney," and not "Turly."
A lot of great scenes. If I had to pick one, I'd go with "Fair enough." I thought it was pretty funny.

ReplyDeletehe drive-by wedding recue was just so hilarious to me that it has to be my favorite scene of the episode!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the age old tradition for wedding requirements again?
Something Old, something new. Something burrowed something blew.. erm blue.
Does it count if Reese "blew" away the hostage taking ex-boyfriend? XD

ReplyDeleteI had a tough time choosing. I think I chose about half of the choices in that poll. ;)
