  2. I saw the ending coming cause they din't show Molly all episode and i an guessing Ryan lives and Clair goes into critical. Joe for some reason i do not think he is dead they boy is the guy he killed in the house i am guessing.Parker dying was a twist i did not think they would kill her off. But was a good ending for season 1.

  3. I really liked it, but I just couldn't quite give it an awesome, as a lot of it was either predictable (Molly coming for the kill at the end/Joe apparently dying in an explosion in the boathouse - where the hell was psycho Emma and the underling during all of that? other than being left out to be in the next season) or a bit underwhelming (Parker's death was a total bummer, but it felt like it a bit anticlimactic and wasn't edited well to completely give it a "race to save her feel" - didn't Ryan/Mike "interrogate" the smiley psycho and got Parker's location (which I'd assume was at least close to the abandoned car area) and gave it to the FBI team (who looked like they were back in the Hanover police HQ...why they went back there didn't make sense/should've stayed close to the forest), and the smiley psycho guy for being a sniper, didn't seem to be much of a shot - couldn't hit Mike and either didn't see Ryan coming for him/was supposed to be captured..... other than those weak points, it was a really good ep with KB and JP like all season being the best parts of the episode from Joe's bits with Claire to Ryan just going off after finding Parker dead (that really sucks, as her character still felt incomplete to me especially after the background on her cult-y past.... it will be interesting to see how the next season will go like who was that girl watching the tv in Alabama at the end and if in fact Joe is truly dead (which I don't think he is....)

  4. The episode itself was amazing... well done and I love the way everything (minus parker dying!) wrapped up. The whole episode though I was hoping to see Molly pop up JUST so the twist at the end wouldn't be so predictable - they had to have known most of us saw that coming lol... As predictable as it was I still thought it was shot well and a pretty good cliffhanger.

  5. As soon as he pushed him into the fire I thought oh crap they're gonna have him fake his death lol.- I'd hope they would do something more original after the whole Molly "twist."

Not to mention the ratings dropped quiet a bit right? Not sure how much time they have to play with :-/

  6. This was poor writing, nothing surprised me. And I have a question, I get that next season we'll find out who lives, but what about the following? will now Emma create a new cult? This is starting to get way too repetitive.

  7. if ryan dies, then Mike will lead the next season. if not then joe is alive or Emma will rise.

  8. This episode was amazing!!! I don't think I have it in me to wait until 2014 for season 2. I have rewatched where Claire ws stabbed and I have to say, unless help is ASAP she won't make it, for sure a kidney shot. I just hope Weston can find or hold onto his humanity, or else he's on a path to becoming the new Hardy. Someone give that boy a hug. But sooooooo beyond happy Weston lived and VERY SAD... RIP Parker, I loved you and sobbed. Emma is def going to reorganize the cult. (note to self, someone cries bc a killer dies, call 911

  9. Yeah it was emma, what I don't understand is why she had long hair in that scene. Did alot of time pass or something from the last scene she was in until that one?

  10. I found the ending hilarious. Imo Joe is not dead, it is easy to fake your own death nowadays.

  11. Shame about Debra... (Annie is a brilliant actress IMO)... but Ryan's response was great. I saw Molly coming a mile off. Ryan and Joe surviving is kinda predictable, and Claire probably will too (though she deserves a smack for being so dumb) - the love triangle is integral to the story. Despite all though, it was a superb episode capping of a fantastic season... if next season keeps up this quality I'll be very happy.. hope it doesn't disappoint.

  12. Not sure what to think. It was actually well done, but I didn't like some points. Sadly, Parker died. Wanted her to live, though. :/
I didn't expect to see Joe dying. I can't imagine them letting him die, so I think it is faked and he's still alive somehow.
The Molly ending was too predictable, I didn't like that. So.. hm.. not my favorite episode, but a solid one.
Not sure how they'll do Season 2, but I see potential. :)

  13. The entire Parker part of the story hinged on the fact that they could not find her themselves. That was bullshit. It was her phone, it was not a call made using internet services - it was a phone call. Unless you can hack into the network carrier, there is no way you can just bounce around signals like that. It's a small detail, but it becomes important because the character dies because of it.

There isn't much else I want to say about the rest of the episode. The story did not get any better in the finale. But since the show had been renewed for a second season, I was interested to see what the set up was going to be for the next season. I was hoping they would start something new, and move away from Joe Carroll. But it seems like that's not going to happen. No explanation as to how this girl shows up at Ryan's apartment - my theory is she's Batman.

At least I hope Joe remains dead.

  14. 'why are they so quick to believe everything w/o question?' You know we're talking about the FBI in The Following, right?

  15. LoL!!! What was i thinking,lol... :)

  16. Here's my guess: Next season, Joe "returns" as a hallucination that follows Ryan around.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't believe Joe is dead. Think about being on fire wouldn't you be screaming from pain? Now Joe might be good but he isn't that good...They probably will learn their was a hatch or he got out some way, they already had a dead body, and they switched dental charts. They probably also had a follower in the dental office, maybe even the dentist...that's if the writers want to go that way..

  18. Wow, what an ending..is Joe dead? I not trust that he is. About time we got another Jack Bauer.

  19. I wondered about Emma.I figured she would be the one meeting Joe since out of all of the Followers she was the only one left...i think?

  20. I thought it was good, not great! I don't want to say it was "good" to see Parker die, she was a great character, but there's only so many times an unknown agent can get in the way of a stabbing or sniper bullet.

Didn't like the predictable "wrapped up" horror movie ending, where the bad guy is confirmed dead and then a cliffhanger at the end for the sequel. Molly was too predictable, I would have preferred Joe actually "winning" this season and killing his ex-wife ( I know she might still be dead from the hands of Molly, but it would have had more of an impact if Joe had killed her and then walked out of the house, Ryan completely destroyed from the death etc).

Anyways, looking forward to a less predictable season 2 hopefully.

  21. Good point. :) Though I thought I heard some screams.. maybe I imagined it. :D
Need to rewatch it soon. Now that I think about it, Joe really can't be dead!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yep,not dead.Another point is since Joe wrote the last Chapter he planned it out that way. When you watch again check out when Joe runs out of the house,he turns to make sure Ryan is following him to the boat house.Boat houses always has a hatch or at least some type of opening other than the door. This is the way Joe is able to escape while using the dead body as his own...My theory anyway. I'm going to watch it again myself!

  23. Yeah.. but she did it well.

You think she faked her death on POI, i mean she did infect the machine and maybe she the one who can save it? Also she found out who sold the machine and it was finch?

I believe the writer didn't think following be picked up so they killed her or maybe she set to appear somewhere else and cant keep up with the scheduling

Lets not forget when the camera was on him when the flames were engulfing you can see his mouth a little and not once i see it open from screaming and when he was saying "no" it was a normal no not a screaming no lol

Besides how can we have season 2 without Joe not being there i wouldn't be surprised he be a little scared from the flames and every time he would look in the mirror and see the scar it would remind him of how much he hates Ryan and that would motivate him to take it to the next level next season :)

  27. I liked it a lot. I don't think it was perfect but it was pretty entertaining and this show gives me trills like only the walking dead is capable of (and that is my favorite show on air, so that is something). I hated that they killed off Parker though, really really hated it. I don't find it necessary, especially if they really are killing of Claire as it seems. I like Clarie too and I have fell in love with the actress during the season but I understand the impact her death would have. Killing Parker on top of that seems redundant. And she died miserably, I hated it. Also, I am still sad that the show got rid of Jacob and Paul, they were one of my favorite storylines... Yet, on top of that, they let freaking Emma alive, which by now I think is the most hated character on the show. I have no idea how season 2 is going to look like, but I am for sure in for the ride. Oh and as for Joe Caroll, I don't know how they will explain it, but I don't believe he is dead. Great show, great season!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I disagree with your point. Joe won too much during the season, I think we needed a victory for the good guys. And even that one is not crystal clear since as Claire is probably dead and Parker died.

  29. I think if there is a show willing to pull it off is a show like this. Still, I am with you, I think it is more likely that he is alive than dead.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No chance ryan dies IMO

  31. They went back up for the finale. Excluding Arrow for the CW, this is the biggest hit of the season. Revolution's seasonal average is still technically higher (2.78 vs 2.63) but with 5 episodes still left to air it is likely to even out (and, in case, it is propped by a huuge lead in and the numbers now are way lower than fall ones, which inflate its average).

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think the finale was a good representation of the series....
One ridiculous twist after the next with many of them being the perfect storm of impassible events.

So many logic and plot holes... Not the least of which is why were Ryan and Mike the first on the scene at Parker's grave? No cop, sheriff, EMT or park ranger were closer? Seriously?

I guess I respect the series if they killed off Joe, Parker and Claire all in one finale. Somehow I seriously doubt all three will be dead at the beginning of next season.

I did like that they all made fun of Joe for being predictable and going to the lighthouse! XD
I think we all knew that is where he would end up or where Claire woke up.

I think the series made the same mistake so many other series and movies make. they made their villain so omnipotent and 5 steps ahead in the beginning only to have an ending that did not meet or exceed that level of forethought and detail. Whenever some villain is set up as so superior only to fall in predictable and pedestrian ways it is anti-climactic..

I guess the series is designed for people who can completely suspend their sense of disbelief and ignore all the implausibilities that happened on a regular bass.. Just not for me in the end.

  33. Killing Parker and leaving Claire as a cliffhanger death (which I will be shocked by if she does in fact die) were the best parts of the finale - the only aspects that were unpredictable.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agreed.
Most of the season was trying to hard to be shocking instead of settign up goodf story or characters. The only redeeming thng in the finale for me was that they had the nerve to kill off the main villain, the mean female protagonist, and the female damsel in distress.

If Joe or Claire live it would ruin any respect I have for that finale.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Exactly.

It is like Prison Break. Set up with a premise that leads nowhere and bad writing that only compounds the issue. Great for a season, but then what?

    ReplyDelete
  36. But I don't like them doing it just for the sake of it being unpredictable. And I personally didn't find it that unpredictable seeing how it was unresolved from last week, it certainly wasn't shocking... I guess that if Claire really is alive and if Parker's death has repercussions on Mike and Ryan I won't me so annoyed by it, depends where they take it next season. At this point I am not happy with it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Actually I don't think he won enough, his plan unravelled too much for something so many years in the making, so soon into the show's run. Like Ryan said in the show, it would be more interesting for the story to kill him off, but I would have settled for Joe killing his ex wife.
Instead Joe's fault is his ego, and is left for dead in a burning boathouse (with the body of his last victim) and will resurface again in the season two premiere. The show didn't offer anything new in this finale, just what has been done before in other shows or movies. I was just hoping it would have been different.
