So glad I decided to watch this show! I don't know everyone's names yet, but I love Nolan and Irisa's relationship. They're a cute father/daughter pairing.
And who was that at the end? I can't figure it out.
Loved Nolan and the mine guy (See, I don't know all their names!) bonding over what life used to be like.
I like this show more with each episode, but I'm really fearing the numbers. Jaime Murray you gorgeous woman...who wants to be on how long it will take for her character to hook up with another woman? Isn't that what almost all of her characters do? I love how manipulative she is.
Good to see Irisa's softer side. I get the impression that Irathient's are a very aggressive race, so I'm sure that side that can't stand to see someone suffer is thanks to how she was raised. I actually laughed when they arrested the tortured guy for loitering. First time I've seen that used in such a way.
When you say "fearing the numbers" do you mean the ratings? Because they'd have to go WAAAAAYY down for SyFy to cancel it before at least a second season.
Still going strong. It was my favorite show of the night although I missed the doctor's snark. Hapless using loitering made up for it though. I like the mystery so far and the way it's building. Plus they mentioned toasted ravioli in St. Louis so bonus points all around!
To be honest, I wasn't as impressed with this episode as I was with the pilot. Then again, in all my favorite shows there are very few I can honestly say that I liked the second episode at least as much as the pilot. On the other hand they did open new avenues for the show which was a good sign for the future. A lot of characters showed great potential and maybe it's just because I liked LOST but Fionnula Flannigan being someone behind the curtains pulling the strings again is nice to see.
Also, I'm loving Jamie Murray's character. She plays the femme fatale style better than most actresses. Kinda makes me want to see her in a film noir role.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

if you're asking who was dead on the doorstep, that was the guy that was saved from the "cleansing ritual"/torture by Irisa and Amanda

ReplyDeleteI loved this idea in the culture clash. The one culture was to kill all deserters. The other was to have compassion. I wonder who will win in the end?
ReplyDeleteHer attitude seems hypocritical when not long after she's telling Nolan that the people aren't worth risking his life for.
