Wasn't surprised that Norman killed his father. But clearly Norman's raging and then blacking out wasn't an isolated incident and really tied to Norma. Interesting. This was never explored in the movie. Now I wonder how no one saw this in him before.
All I can say is HOLY SHIT! I thought Dylan was going to die for a second there but glad that Zack did. Kinda knew that Norman killed his father so wasn't THAT surprised by it but it was still awesome the way it went down. And Freddie Highmore just became 1000 times more creepy with all those stares he was giving. Awesome episode!
You SURE that Norman killed his father, and that Norma isn't embellishing somewhat? Remember that Norma has a bad burn on her thigh revealed in previous episodes. There is a very hor iron she has in her hands in this scene, shown in close-up even, but it doesn't factor into her story. One gets the feeling that there are some pieces of the puzzle missing to her side of things, She may not be the most reliable narrator of events here.
You pretty much just touched on everything I thought about the entire episode haha... all I kept thinking in that shootout was "Come on, you can't possibly kill off my favorite character on this entire show..." I'm glad Dylan came out from that okay. And Freddie Highmore is freaking knocking it out of the park every week. He's so creepy! And I feel like he's really channeling Anthony Perkins from the original movie - his inflection, the way he holds himself, everything... so fantastic.
i see what you are saying, but i really do think norman killed his father. That scar was quite an old scar. If it had only been 6 months old (how long the husband had been dead) then it would look quite different than that (speaking as someone with a severe burn scar), and when we see her after the father is killed, if she had such a massive burn, she would have been in quite a bit more distress and pain than we see her in. just my opinion. :)
IT was obviously for me since the pilot that Norman killed his father... but it was very satisfying. And Freddie Highmore was absolutely perfect as Norman today
Maybe Dylans father burned her or maybe her OWN father...........Norma has had a bad life.....that's why she just went ape shit when that guy raped her and she stabbed him a zillion times...enough was enough.I loved seeing her run to Dylan and hug him...the first time she ever show motherly love for him...it was great...this show gets better and better.........that Norman is quite an actor.....when he zones out Anthony Perkins comes into focus..how will they all get out of this now???? Maybe the girl with the oxygen will come forward and let the police know about the perv cop...excellent story....it would do Hitchcock proud to see this..the cast are incredible actors.....whew!.
This weeks episode was just awesome! I loved all the twists and turns with the storyline and having Zack show up at the last minute. Also not surprised that Norman probably killed his own father. That flashback scene told a lot about Norma's background and explains now why she acts the way she does. The shoot out at the house was pretty crazy and I was worried that Dylan was dead. Loved how Zack just drops dead on the steps! This should all be very interesting now with Sheriff Romero involved and I'm hoping to see him each week with the rest of the episodes left.
I have an idea that there is going to be jealousy building up between Norman and Dylan after Norman sees this change in feelings between Norma and Dylan. It will make a very strange triangle and I don't think Norman will handle it well since he has had Norma to himself all along.
My favorite part had to be when Norma actually took the time to worry about Emma and then showed her some compassion. I think this is important for us to see in Norma's character since she seems so self absorbed most of the time.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Glad that Dylan was OK.
