I still can't believe they haven't learned the cardinal rule when dealing with Klaus--don't eff with him! Deal with him, placate him, etc, etc, but don't try to kill him, don't try to trick him, and DON'T KILL HIS FAMILY! I applaud the proactive, feisty Elena, but what were you thinking?!? Kol finally started talking and I liked him, so I was hoping they wouldn't kill him and he could go off on the spinoff.
I like that Bonnie made a decision and tried to kick some butt, but she is such a freaking plot device. It is painful to watch for me. They make her super strong, then randomly take her out of play so other things happen, then wake her up and bring her back into play later.
Villain Bonding Time was as good as promised. It got a bit meta for a few lines, but I forgive. Damon and Klaus should have all their scenes together. And Stefan totally deserved to be punched at the end. Loved it!
And major bonus points for the shirt ripping tattoo reveal. Well done, Steven R. McQueen's trainer, Well done.
I thought it was great!! Gotta love those Gilbert sibs!!! Buh Bye Kol!! You were funny tonight, you were, but I am not sad to see him go..I might be the only one, but idc....Bonnie is def. in control now.......and liked the Stebekah scenes, i'm glad Rebekah came clean(although i love her when she's bitchy).......I loved the 80s talk!! I am a 80s baby! And proud of it. Loved having my Delena finally get there hug, and loved Damon punching Stefan in the face(always love those, when Stefan deserves it) And I loved how Klaus was asking Damon on advice to get the girl, LOL....then of course Klaus had to try and stab him back with his words..that AREN'T true.....i can't wait for the next episode....Damon: "Here we go"!!!
RIP Kol. I had to vote great instead of awesome. It was a great episode though. Klaus is going to raise some HELL. I liked that in the end he cared about his family over his hybrids. He even was shedding a tear.
It was an amazing episode, one of the best of the season, it's just a shame Kol had to die, I liked him. Maybe he will be resurrected by Silas, Shane did say all those that are sacrificed for freeing Silas will be brought back
i dont like how they think it ok 2 kill a entire bloodline of vampire just so elena can be human again so far they kill more people then klaus and is family they kill fin for nothin and lot of other people klaus should just kill them all aand be done with it because we all know silas gonna be evil and their gonna be like we have 2 stop him now
Perfect. Just loved it. They actually did kill Kol. I never believed they would. JP loves the originals too much. I thought Kol would be on Originals. He was cute. Insane, but cute. Kol, my love, a good advice: never ever mess with a witch. Trapping Klaus. ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!!! I've been hoping since half of S3 they would. I just hopped, they could trap him somewhere where he could be locked away for the rest of eternity. Okay, the first impression I had when Stefan woke up was him thinking "What? Where am I? What the fuck am I doing here?" Poor Becca. Another dance she couldn’t go to. I liked the "dance" I'm glad she had some fun. This ep was a reality check for Klaus. I really enjoyed Becca telling Klaus the truth. That he is nothing without his daggers and his threats. Just loved the Damon/Klaus conversation. Sire bond, compulsion, manipulation, … of course Klaus doesn't bother to think of any other way to get people to like him, do as he wants. "You do bad things for no reason. … You gotta be bad, be bad with purpose. Otherwise you're just not worth forgiving." So glad somebody finally told him the truth. And then he gets trapped. No, this wasn't his ep. I loved it. "If you help me dagger Kol" Yes. So that again everyone else would take the blame for Klaus betrayal. Except Klaus, of course. "What do you know about love" Well, Klaus doesn't even know how the word is spelled. "Train yourself to do some dishes" Loved it. It's so true. I never saw a man doing housework. Like they would die if they do the dishes or the laundry. I must say, I like this new Elena. Kill Kol, dagger Becca, take out Klaus, not to mention her killing hunters … They should have turned her ages ago. Jeremy was just so hot!!! I love guys with tattoos. Even mystical once that make you wanna kill your sister. Vervain in the main water supply? Good thinking. But not really helping. And besides: smelly vamps? Yack.
On one way I hoped they would kill Kol. But I never believed, they would. But I agree. Bad move. Never mess with Klaus or his family. Only he can kill or dagger his siblings, right? Of course we can argument, that they were just defending themselves. With no dagger and only the stake … But Klaus doesn't understand those motives. Well, I think, Elena was thinking of dealing with all originals. That's what I love so much about her lately. She's great. Comparing to S1. Bonnie is losing it big time. I'm afraid, she's gonna kill someone. I hope it's Klaus. After she somehow removes the bond. Yes, Damon and Klaus were great. I loved that finally someone told Klaus the truth. Damon and Becca both did. And then he gets trapped. Not his ep. I just loved it. Oh, yes, Jeremy was so hot. I imagine many girls were drooling.
Oh, honey, it's not just about Elena anymore. You know what Becca and Klaus said. Who gets the cure first, decides, what to do with it. Stefan and Damon want it for Elena. Stefan also wants it for himself and Becca. Becca wants it for herself and Klaus. And Klaus just wants to destroy it, so no one can use it against him. If he gets the chance, he'll probably make Elena take it. Elena wanted to take it at first. Now … not so sure. She wants to be free from the bond and I think, she would like to be human again. But she's having some great time now with her powers. She enjoys it. I think, she'll take it if she gets the chance, but wouldn't kill just to get it for herself. I think, she wants it for Klaus. And cruel as it sounds, killing an original was the easiest and fastest way to complete the mark. And don't get me wrong, but thanks god. Otherwise it would take Jer the entire S5 to complete the mark. Means we would have to deal with Klaus for another season. And he's been around too long already.
"Gotta love those Gilbert sibs" You see, blood IS thicker than water. Wasn't John complaining that Elena and Jeremy should be killing vampires instead of sleeping with them? Now they did killed vamps. A lot. John would be proud. 80's baby? Me too. Good music. Good movies. But the clothes, the hair and the makeup … horrible. But at least I was too young to deal with hair or makeup. But my brother had to play Final countdown (Europe) over and over again. Damon punching Stefan was great. But I must say, for a moment it looked like Elena would do it. And a part of me hoped she would. Agree that he deserved it. He so desperately wants to blame the sire bond for Elenas behavior. But I wonder about one thing. Let's say, Stefan manages to prove that Elena was with Damon and behaving the way she does, because of the bond (I don't believe it. She loved him long before she was turned and sired). That would give her an excuse for sleeping with Damon. What excuse does Stefan have for sleeping with Becca? And why does Stefan have the right to be pissed and hurt for Elena sleeping with Damon, but no one has the right to be pissed or hurt if he is sleeping with Becca? I loved this ep. It was a good reality check for Klaus. Damon and Becca both told him the truth and then he gets trapped. Just loved it.
Well, I love this episode. Elena finally got some action, Damon/Klaus scenes were great and when Damon punched Stefan I was happy as hell. But on the other side I started to like Kol more and more each episode. Sad that there wasn´t any other way to get out of this. So let´s hope for more flashbacks :D
I get that killing an original was the fastest way to progress the story along--but can we just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the main characters "the good guys" have become the most horrible, immoral, delusional, self-involved characters in the history of ever. They literally killed thousands of vampires just to solve their own problems in a timely, orderly fashion. I'd accept the necessity of it, if you know, it was truly necessary to do so. In hindsight, Klaus' plan in the previous episode may have actually been the less mass murdering approach to getting the map--which is kinda sad if you think about.
Right now, I'm just hoping that there are some eventual consequences and repercussions for killing Kol--and not just for killing him solely (even though I loved that crazy, cute son of a gun), but also the destruction of his bloodline. **Maybe Elijah can come along and give them the verbal (and actual) smack down all the characters deserve.
I understand and appreciate a show the blurs the line between good and evil but this is getting to the point of ridiculous. Right now I'm finding the villains (Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, Kol) to be far more sympathetic and likable at this point.
I'm hoping that raising Silas will a) bite everyone in the ass, and b) may make it possible to raise the dead (I really did come to enjoy Kol, and imagine what other deceased characters could potentially come back)
I get that people cheer a Damon/Klaus friendship--but I seriously prefer Klaus and Stefan's bromance and I don't want it to ever end, I actually kinda like that most of the orignals seem to prefer Stefan. Also, I am at least enjoying this Stefan--Damon's a hypocrite, drama queen, and annoying right now and I'm over it. Seriously dude, you can't be a high and mighty dick to someone whose doing the same bratty crap you yourself have done--plus Stefan has way more right to be a prick towards Damon and Elena and I'm glad he is. What they did was a pretty twisted thing to do to someone you were in love with/your brother. And they what? Expect him to just shrug his shoulders, accept it, and move on? The guys has ever right to bring out the snark and, let's be honest, most of Stefan's actions and reactions are pretty justified and valid regardless of how upset and awful it makes ether Damon or Elena feel.
Sorry...I'm totally rambling.
In conclusion: I'm not very fond of any of the main characters right now I'm sad Kol had to die because of their drama.
If Damon didn't do it, I could see Elena punching him....did u see her face?? She was pissed, even Bonnie didn't bother to touch that one, she looked at Elena then looked straight down, like low blow Stefan, Bonnie didn't dare say a word, it was all in her face.....lol The clothes, hair make up horrible, LOL....idk I liked my clothes back then, 80s were awesome....I'm a little disappointed they didn't so the decade dance, but i did appreciate the music and the movies Stefan talked about(Gotta love The Breakfast Club).......IKR??!?! Stefan just did it on the rebound, I mean personally I just feel that Rebekah(when they were in the office) she told him how it was, and he saw things her way, simple as that. And he clearly wanted to finish what they were gonna start, hence him going back to her room.....dude was just horny, Period. When and if Elena gets this cure, I still believe she will be with Damon, I'm not worried at all...it'll be a new chapter for them...and that hug they had, despite what Klaus said to Damon....Elena made that all go away, when she said "I'm just happy to see you." = )
As far as pacing and action goes,it was great. As for the story,I'm not very happy with Kol's death.First reason is obvious,I really enjoyed the character. He was fun,he had great potential and I was looking forward to learning more about him in the spin-off. Also, once more we went back to one of my problems with the show.Don't introduce characters that you can't later support.Or at least don't make them so powerful. The writers have built themselves into a corner with the Originals and that's mainly why I'm so excited for the spin-off. They introduced them as these insanely powerful vampires and I was expecting that if we were to witness one of their deaths,it would be caused by another Original. It makes NO sense that Elena survived last night's episode. As a viewer,I don't like to accept "she's the main character" as the answer to:Why is she still alive?
Anyway,no I'm rooting for the whole "Silas will raise the dead" thing.Otherwise it's beyond me why the writers would choose to introduce new characters in the spin-off,not knowing if they will be well received, instead of going the safe root with a character that's already popular.
Yes. I said that it looked like she would do it. Like "What did you just said?". And that a part of me hoped she would. Elena punching Stefan. I think, on youtube would more people watch that than Elenas and Damons make out or having sex.
I was just a kid back there. My mom picked my clothes. And clothes for kids weren't that horrible. Mostly.
The mayor canceled the dance, cause the town had no dance, parade, fest or any other event for almost 2 years, that didn't end in horror, chaos, blood and death. Actually, he's the smartest person in MF. No one else did the homework. And vervain in the main water supply? That was a great idea. Didn't help much, but it was a good idea. It would have worked better on a public pool, where the entire town would be invited for free.
I love the Breakfast club too. I'm not much into drama, but that is a movie I like. Did you watch The Princess Bride? That's a great movie too.
How about the 90's? Great music and movies too. And better clothes than the 80's. It's the last decade I'm disappointed at. Mostly sequels, remakes, or movies/shows based on books and comics. The singers and groups mostly don't know how to sing (long live the computers). And the fashion … It's great. If you're an anorexic teenager.
I too believe that she will be with Damon. I think, that the relationship Elena/Stefan is too damaged. She slept with his brother and he slept with the woman that killed the girl he said he loved soooo much. Much would have to be done to fix that relationship. But I think, that at a point she will be back with Stefan. Elena between the boys is one of the major storylines. I hope Elena as human (IF she becomes human again) can be happy with Damon. In the books he always tries to convince her to turn and be his princes. He's different in the show. I think, he wouldn't force her into becoming a vampire again (I mean later in 5 or 10 years).
How about an ep, where all the guys (and I mean all guys) are just wearing their underwear? We could take votes on the hottest body parts and complete set.
Well, true. It's not typical for the good guys to do something like that. But Klaus and Kol pushed them that far. "Just to solve their own problems in a timely, orderly fashion" You forgot about Klaus? How many people did he killed and turned so Jeremy can kill them? Cause Jeremy didn't make enough progress? And what about Klaus killing Katerinas entire family just cause he was pissed at her and couldn't find her? "I'm just hoping that there are some eventual consequences and repercussions for killing Kol" There are. In one word: Klaus. You can bet he's gonna do some serious killing when he gets free. Sorry, I can't agree on that. I like the originals. Or liked them, before they were forced into the show. But they are all insane and psychopaths and I like the "good guys" better. True, they kill. Elena and Jeremy got a quite high body count during the last 2 seasons. I just believe in motives. Why did they do it? For fun? Do deliver a massage? Cause they were bored and there wasn't anything on TV? The gang doesn't hesitate to kill (anymore). But they kill in self-defense or to protect others. Or (like today) when they were pushed that far (by Klaus and Kol himself). Klaus (for example) kills for fun, or when he is bored. Or to deliver a massage. He killed Carol, cause Ty disappeared. He killed Katerinas entire family cause she messed with his plan and escaped. He killed Jenna cause Damon freed Caroline and Ty (see any pattern in that?). Becca didn't hesitate to kill Matt, just as long as she gets to Elena. And she was mocking about killing Elena and Alaric. Just two eps ago she made fun out of torturing Stefan, Elena and Caroline. And it wasn't Damon who forced Stefan into killing Elena. It also wasn't Stefan or Elena who forced Ty in biting Caroline. Sorry, I don't think the originals are more likable than the gang. But I am disappointed at Stefan. I don't like seeing Stefan with Klaus. It brings out the worst in him. And not just at the beginning of S3 when he was compelled. What about later that season? Or S4? He is just so cruel and cold when he comes close to Klaus. Don't get me wrong, I like that Stefan more than the boring Stefan from S1. But it never ends good, when Klaus works his influence on Stefan. Damon is a dick. He is an ass. Mostly. That is why he is so much fun to be with. Unlike boring Stefan. Why has Stefan more right to be a prick? Damon and Elena at least love each other. For a long time now. Isn't that the reason, or one of the reasons, why Stefan broke up? Cause he knew? And Stefan? A few eps back he wanted to kill Becca for killing Elena. And now he's fucking her? And no one thinks that's weird? He maybe likes her, but he doesn’t love her. Or did he said it and I missed it? Of course Damon and Elena don't expect Stefan to just accept it. That is why they were keeping it a secret. And I get that he is mad. But, after all, he broke up with Elena, not Elena with Stefan. And he knew they love each other. That is why he sendElena with Damon to pick up Jeremy in S3, didn't he? So she can find out what she feels? So, why is he shocked? Isn't it normal? Two people like each other, they are attracted and they come together, make out, have sex, … they are not 10. Neither is Stefan, he should have see it coming. But it's true, that it all went pretty fast. On the other side: if you know, what you feel and what you want, why wait?
I was curious if someone was going to mention this. I'm glad someone else has noticed. When I saw her talking to Bonnie, looking please with herself, I thought she was mad. Killing some vampires from the bar is one thing, at least they were compelled to kill Jeremy, but genocide is a step too far. For all we know thousands of people have died, families with vampiric children perhaps, there are so many ways where becoming a vampire is a cure (thought the show doesn't explore that idea). At least it should be suspicious that all over the world people just dropped dead in a weird way. The worst thing is they didn't need to kill all of those people. The rapidity with which they decide to kill people scares me sometimes.
I agree, even Klaus hasn't done murders in such amounts and he is a maniac of the show. And it is surprising he comes out as less bad than the "good" guys.
It's kinda weird of Damon to expect Stefan to forgive him so soon and taunt him about Elena and Rebekah. Even though what Stefan said was a low blow, Damon started it by talking about Rebekah. I also thought that Damon said only to show Elena that Stefan is over her because he is afraid she might run away back to Stefan at some point.
I agree with you about Kol.I never wanted to see him dead and lately it was not just because he was hot.He was right about not Raising Silas. He was the most reasonable and where did that get him?Dead.Like anyone really cares if Elena will be turned back to human or not. And I don't understand why Elena,Stefan and Damon are still alive.I don't care about the actors' contracts. If they want a character to survive, the writers have to write a STORY to support that.If it was any other character instead of Elena at the other end of that stake, that character would have been dead. Why did he spare her?He had already said to Klaus he would go after him next,so why didn't he kill Elena just to piss him off?Same about Stefan and Damon. They have killed two of their brothers and they conspired with Esther to kill them all,so why are they still alive??
Klaus is evil and I'm not defending him but Elena and Jeremy are evil too. It's not self-defence when you're planning to kill someone or multiple someones in this case. That;s cold blooded murder.I understand they needed to free Damon of his compulsion but there was another way.I'm not talking about the daggers.I'm talking about making a deal with Kol.He frees Damon, they don't look for the cure.If the cure exists, thet means the person that created it exists too,you idiots! And Elena doesn't even want it! Remember Logan Fell? How many innocent people did he kill when he turned? How many people have the bar newbie vampires killed so far? What makes these vampires worth saving? I don't see any vampire as a good person.Vampire hunters are not the bad guys for me.But for Elena and Jeremy who sympathize with them, killing thousands of vampires, people they'd never met just so that they didn't have to kill 20 of them??It's a twisted logic.
The fastest way to complete the mark was Jeremy killing all these vampires at the bar.In that episode they were trying to save vampires,in the next one, they were killing thousands of them. It doesn't even make sense.
Who knows what Julie Plec will pull if the fans make a big enough complaint about it. I prefer Elijah but I think all of the remaining siblings should at the very least be on recurring status in The Originals, so I guess were in the midst of a wait and see situation.
I completely agree and I'm glad you pointed this out. This whole season has been about killing innocent people so that Elena no longer has to be a vampire. Just because these people are first turned into vampires, doesn't make killing them any better. And I don't get Julie Plec's love for Damon's character, but he's slowly becoming one of my least favorite characters.
Ok, this show has so many lovable characters that every damn death hurts, but I have a week spot for the originals. Kol's death was unexpected to me (I thought Klaus would have been able to help him at the last moment, I know he can't come in, but...) I couldn't stop thinking: No, this can't be happening (when he was on fire). I know he is not even a regular, but I thought he has a lot of potential...
Now, the premise of The Originals is not that appealing. I would prefer to see a time where they all lived toghether (New Orleands, Kol mentioned). As much as I love Klaus, a plot in the present about just him and Elijah is interesting because both characters are great but it is too similar to the Stefan/Elena/Damon triangle. I would have loved to see all the originals living together, that would have been so fun. Anyway, I don't understand why they keep killing Originals if they are planning a show whose the main characters are The Originals... (They are only three left!)
Or maybe Silas would resurrect everyone? Originals included and let them actually stay alive. That would be weird but weirdest things had happened in this show and that is some scape gate that Supernatural has used a lot of times (and that's the other CW series with a lot of audience)
In the resurrection scenario, I would love to see Alaric back in TVD if his own show, Cult, doesn't work out.
I completely agree with you in the "The good guys are horrible, immoral killers" It would have been awesome if they were heading to the degradation of the humanity in a Breaking bad way, but they still think they are the goods guys and Julie Plec still think they are.
In this show you can't defend anyone, they are all killers. period. But as you said it is almost funny that the bad guys are more sympathetic. It is ok for Elena to kill hundred of vampires but, of course, Damon and Stefan should never die because they are goooooood just because they are in love with her (Don't get me wrong, I like them and I don't want them dead, but, damn, it is ridiculous!) Klaus is a maniac, no doubt, but at least he does his own dirty work... Of course it is so easy for Elena to kill people if she doesn't have to do it with her own hands. These people should be in jail, really. Vampire-jail or something. They are dangerous for whole world! It's genocide. This show is quite entertaining but if you think about it deeply, it really should be censured. They are justifying genocide!!!! O.o
I loved this episode. It felt very much like old tvd. I didn't think they were actually going to kill kol with the spin-off approaching and all that, but cool that they did. i am in love with rebekah and stefan, hope it lasts, loved their scenes. bonnie kicked some major ass and klauss is back at being evil, which is the only role he serves well on the show.
Silas could always bring him back. I'm thinking the whole "bringing people back to life" thing is true. But it's only part of it. Bringing them back to life as an army maybe. And Silas would have an army of vampires just from Kol and Finn's line alone. And I guess Mikael's line if he ever turned anyone but I doubt it.
Glad I'm not the only one seeing how messed up and morally questionable the characters have become. And Damon has obecome a source of frustration for me as well this season.
I completely agree with everything your saying--its a show about vampires, so I know I got to take things with a grain of salt, but the writers are seriously pushing it at this point.
Yes exactly. We still don't know what exactly happened to Tatia to begin with. And it would take a lot of TVD episodes to learn the history so the spinoff about the past would be the perfect solution.
You mean Elena? True. I just said, that at the beginning she wanted it. Now? She learned to control it and can put her powers to a good use. I don't know if she'll do it. But yes, if she decides to turn back, and wants to be a vampire later, she can do it. But it will probably not be Damons blood next time. Or Stefans. Maybe Caroline will be the donor.
I agree. But, as I said it, they were pushed to that action. Kol wouldn't have stop until Jeremy was dead. And Klaus wouldn't have stop killing and turning innocent people, till Jeremy completes the mark. It was a war between Kol and Klaus and Elena and Jeremy were in the middle.
"He frees Damon, they don't look for the cure" Sounds absolutely logical. And there wouldn't be a problem, if it were just Kol and the Gilberts. But you forgot Klaus. He stops at nothing to get to that cure. So, even if Elena and Kol would have make a deal, Klaus would keep pushing Jer to complete the mark (how many innocent people would have to die for that?) and Bonnie to do her mojo.
"If the cure exists, that means the person that created it exists too, you idiots" Exactly what I was saying a week or two ago. Well, I just put it different. Ester used a spell, that already existed. The witch that created it, probably created the cure too. We have a powerful witch and two hot guys that can communicate with ghosts. Contact the witch and ask her. It's worth trying.
Vamps can be good persons too. Elena killed only once. In self defense. Okay, twice. But as I said it, she and Jer were pushed into that action. Stefan is mostly a decent guy. Unless, he works with Klaus. Lexie was okay. And Caroline too only killed in self defence. Except that once, when she lost control. It's nothing compared to what people are capable of. Shane? Haunters are not the bad guys. The problem is, that they can't control the urge, and innocent people suffer. Remember April? That idiot almost killed her. Twice.
"The fastest way to complete the mark was Jeremy killing all these vampires at the bar" Well, yes. But Kol killed them before Jeremy could. You have a problem with that, talk to Kol. Just like that fucking idiot Klaus. Blamed Damon, like it's his fault Kol killed those vamps. Klaus would do it again and again. Kill and turn innocent people. And Kol would still go after Jer. I don't say that I support the killing of all those vamps, but they were pushed into this decision. And into that action.
Save the vamps in the bar? I must have missed that part.
Well, yes. JP is known to change the rules if it comes to the originals. That is why I think that it could be possible Kol returns.
Elijah is my favorite original. He is the only sane one in the family. I'm still mad for him failing Jenna, but he is the only sane one. The only one that can be trusted.
Man i liked Kol but i knew the moment he came back he was dead. i just hated to see it i agreed with kol on his mission considering the evidence he gathered on what witches said of silus it sounded like he just wanted to keep the world safe i wouldnt have called him a villain but the heroes just couldnt see past his darkness and the cure. I definitely though didnt think klaus would be that affected (altho i should've considered their brothers) and rebekah I think was way to affected but i understood how she was fine in the end. Damon and Stefan and Elena r in the awkward stage lol. Bonnie's mom coming back was good but i do think bonnie is losing it a little at the same time getting stronger idk i dont think anything good will come for bonnie any time soon. I actually dont miss caroline or tyler i think this and the last episode have been great.
"I'm thinking the whole "bringing people back to life" thing is true" I'm not sure. It doesn't make sense. Remember the legend. Silas asked a witch to make him immortal. But when he wanted to share his immortality with another woman, the witch killed her and locked him away. That sounds like vampire to me. And vamps can't bring people back from the dead. And besides, this "bring back the dead" is new. So is this "end of the world". Didn't Kol mentioned some sect worshiping Silas? Could be that they made this "brings back the dead" up. Everyone lost somebody and wants them to come back. I'd rather believe the wisdom of the witches not to let him out, than the believes of some fanatic like Shane.
You're right. This "brigs them back" could be also meant as "turn them". After all, a human has to die to come back as vampire. And the "end of the world" could mean, that his vamps would overrun and destroy the world. We'll see.
Maybe the vamps from the bar were innocent because they hadn't killed anyone yet,but they were compelled to kill Matt.If Jeremy had killed them that same night, things might have turned differently. The problem is we don't know how many vampires need to die for the mark to be completed. But I could sympathize with Jeremy killing them, because he would do it to save a friend. They said no to that and the next day they killed thousands of vampires just because they could. It doesn't make any ense. Klaus wouldn't have stopped searching for the cure, that's true.I was simply stating that if they wanted to find a way to deal with Kol,they could have but they chose not to.After all, that's what this show is about:choices. The thing is I'm not sure if Elena wanted Kol dead to protect Jeremy or if it was more about saving Damon. She's sired and I can never truly see her true motives. Kol's bloodline could have many vampires like Elena,Caroline and Tyler, vamps that are in control, but Elena didn't care. And Elena may have killed once, but she was the master mind behind this whole operation,so she's as guilty as Jeremy is. I was talking about hunters in general not the five. P.S. I enjoy disagreeing with you,KiaraA.The fandom may be passionate, but it's good that fans can exchange views in a polite, civilised manner.
Rather liked this ep... Really liked the Rebekah/Stefan dance sequence. In fact Rebekah was the source of my favorite scenes. Loved that she stood up to Klaus. And thank you for finally letting Rebekah reveal herself and NOT get daggered as punishment.
I have believed that Klaus' character should have been killed off and taken off the canvas the first season he appeared, but I have to give props. I loved the scene between Damon and Klaus. I loved Joseph Morgan's performance in that scene.
By innocent people I meant, that they had nothing to do with that madness. These people were in a bar, having fun, drinking, maybe making plans for vacation, wedding, … And then a psychopath shows up and kills everybody. They had nothing to do with vampires, the cure, Silas or any of this supernatural bullshit. That is what I meant with innocent. And yes, they were compelled to kill Matt.
Jeremy could have never killed them all alone. There were 15, 20 vamps, maybe more. He was alone. Damon would have had to help. Even with training, Jeremy couldn't take more than one or two at a time. Another proof that Klaus doesn’t think.
They had no dagger, no idea that Klaus was on his way, Kol attacked them, all they had was the stake. What would you do?
I like that Elena and Jer became so strong. But I too don't like that they kill without hesitating, thinking of consequences. Like how many "good" vamps die with Kol. I get that Jer is so cold about this, he's a hunter. But Elena? Well, she's been thru a lot because of Klaus. That changed her. If JP would stick to reality, she would make the characters think. Like find a way to lock the originals away, so they wouldn't need to kill (if they have no daggers). Like when they locked away Klaus in the last ep. Why didn't Bonnie did it at the beginning of S3? Set up a trap (with Elena as bait) and lock him in. Why no one thought of that?
Yes, I thought that too. His line can have 1000 vamps or 500000. Probably some of them are okay. Like our gang or Lexie. Just trying to build a life for themselves.
Well, that is why Discuss is for. So fans can exchange their point of view.
Tactics, honey. He was human and Damon had a ring. They could move during the day. The bar vamps couldn't. They probably waited till sunrise so they can attack in a controlled environment. The vamps couldn't go out and escape. I would do it the same way.
Besides, they had to bring Matt to a safe place. Remember, they were compelled to kill him.
what i can't understand is as much as they bash kol, elena's decision to kill him is just selfish because all vampires in his line die with him and i can't see how that is right. i mean how many people have to get hurt or die just to protect this girl
Well think of it like this, Expression is probably what Silas used. Ketzia or however you spell it might have used it to. The legend is very unclear, Did she kill his lover while he wasn't around then seal him up? Did she put a seal on his powers so he couldn't get out by normal means? It's possible it's vampire but who knows? I kind of want to see a witch/warlock being the bad guy rather than a stronger version of Klaus or something.
Exactly. This whole Silas thing has more holes than swiss cheese.
Is there even a cure or not? The Hunters originally said, it's a weapon. What kind of creature is Silas actually? Could be a vampire, but also something else. Mostly I believe that he is a vampire. He was given immortality by a witch. He wanted to share it with another woman. He could also be a demon (although we haven't touched that theme yet). Demons are sometimes immortal, but usually they can't share it.
Why would one legend say he will destroy the world and another, that he can bring back the dead? Which one is it?
We don't know what kind of magic Ketzia used. If he's a vampire, than it wasn't expression. It would also explain the cure. She also didn't need it to seal him up (Emily used a normal boundary spell to lock the vamps in the tomb). If he is something else …
Well, It is probably a similar thing as the whole moonstone/curse of sun and moon thing that was used in s2 to trick everyone in to thinking it was really to break their curse. I don't think the hunters or Shane can be fully trusted. Because the hunters may be mistaken by having it past down to them through rumor or they thought the "cure" was a weapon to kill them all and Shane probably hung around with Silas worshipers who are obviously going to say he's a great guy.
True. S2 started with wolves, than we had the stone and then the curse was revealed. But at least, when we learned about the stone and the curse, which was somewhere at the beginning, if I remember correctly, we had just one story. A shaman cursed the werewolves and the stone can break the curse. In the second half (so maybe 8 or 9 eps later) we learned the true legend. That Klaus wants to perform a sacrifice to lift his curse. There were just two legends. The first one we believed for a long time, before we learned the second legend. About Silas we already have 2 or 3 legends and it's just midseason. And we still don't know the truth. Hell, we don't even know WHAT he is supposed to be. How many different legends and lies will we hear in the next 5 or 6 eps?
Some things don't make sense. If the witches wanted Silas to be locked away forever, why giving the map to hunters? Why not sink the entire island? Or was it something they couldn't control? Like this doppelganger thing? I wondered why Esther didn't prevent a possibility to lift the curse.
And if there is a sect of Silas worshipers, why no one ever heard about them? If they lure their followers with stories, how Silas can bring back the dead, why isn't the entire world following them? We all lost someone we want back desperately (parents or grandparents, siblings, children, …).
Well, it is an older legend. The older the story, the more variations there will be.
Kind of what I wondered. I figure it was a drawback of creating the hunters or something. Or maybe we are not being told something about them.
I imagine it's kind of like any cult. Most of the world believes in different religions. With the coming of things like Christianity it probably got drowned out over the years. There is lots of cults like that irl I'd think.
Well, true. The legend is probably several thousand years old. Which makes no sense if we consider the map. The Five were created 900 years ago. With one purpose: kill all vampires. Why would the map to Silas appear on the bodies of five warriors, that have no connection to him? Because of the cure? Then why didn't they go to find it?
Of course there are many cults. Most are small and unimportant. But a cult like that should be big. Huge. Offering people to bring back their dead loved ones should make it easy to find followers.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I knew that... what Jeremy did.. what an awesome episode and what an awesome end... :D
ReplyDeletegreat episode started off slow but what an ending. and loved bonnie this episode
ReplyDeletecant belive they killed kol!
ReplyDeletewhat a powerful which she is!! and Abby.. pleasant surprise
ReplyDeleteThe only original I have ever liked is Elijah, but dang Kol was making me feel sorry for him, until he came back..lol Excellent ep.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe they haven't learned the cardinal rule when dealing with Klaus--don't eff with him!
ReplyDeleteI like that Bonnie made a decision and tried to kick some butt, but she is such a freaking plot device.
ReplyDeleteRIP Kol. I had to vote great instead of awesome. It was a great episode though. Klaus is going to raise some HELL. I liked that in the end he cared about his family over his hybrids. He even was shedding a tear.
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing episode, one of the best of the season, it's just a shame Kol had to die, I liked him. Maybe he will be resurrected by Silas, Shane did say all those that are sacrificed for freeing Silas will be brought back
ReplyDeletei dont like how they think it ok 2 kill a entire bloodline of vampire just so elena can be human again so far they kill more people then klaus and is family they kill fin for nothin and lot of other people klaus should just kill them all aand be done with it because we all know silas gonna be evil and their gonna be like we have 2 stop him now
ReplyDeleteI think Kol can still be on the spin off (in flashbacks) still so there's that.
ReplyDeletePerfect. Just loved it.
ReplyDeleteThey actually did kill Kol.
Where am I? What the fuck am I doing here?"
Poor Becca.
Yack.
And what more perfect to break the tension than hot Jeremy riping his
ReplyDeleteshirt, CW why you dont have more scenes like this!!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!!!
On one way I hoped they would kill Kol. But I never believed, they would. But I agree. Bad move.
ReplyDeleteNever mess with Klaus or his family.
Flashbacks, yes.
ReplyDeleteBut you think it's possible he comes back? Klaus did. But he didn't burn completely. Kol did.
Kol was cute. Crazy, but cute.
ReplyDeleteElijah is my favorite too. He's the only sane one in the family.
Oh, honey, it's not just about Elena anymore.
ReplyDeleteYou know what Becca and Klaus said.
But she's having some
great time now with her powers.
ReplyDelete80's baby? Me too. Good music. Good movies. But the clothes, the hair and the makeup … horrible. But at least I was too young to deal with hair or makeup. But my brother had to play Final countdown (Europe) over and over again.
Damon punching Stefan was great. But I must say, for a moment it looked like Elena would do
it.
ReplyDeleteI get that killing an original was the fastest way to progress the story along--but can we just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the main characters "the good guys" have become the most horrible, immoral, delusional, self-involved characters in the history of ever.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm just hoping that there are some eventual consequences and repercussions for killing Kol--and not just for killing him solely (even though I loved that crazy, cute son of a gun), but also the destruction of his bloodline.
When and if Elena gets this cure, I still believe she will be with Damon, I'm not worried at all...it'll be a new chapter for them...and that hug they had, despite what Klaus said to Damon....Elena made that all go away, when she said "I'm just happy to see you." = )
ReplyDeleteAs far as pacing and action goes,it was great.
ReplyDeleteAs for the story,I'm not very happy with Kol's death.First reason is obvious,I really enjoyed the character.
ReplyDeleteI was just a kid back there.
ReplyDeleteWell, true.
ReplyDelete"I'm just hoping that there are some eventual consequences and repercussions for killing Kol" There are.
Unlike boring
Stefan.
Nothing stops her from becoming a vampire again if she doesn't like being human.
ReplyDeleteI was curious if someone was going to mention this.
ReplyDeleteI agree, even Klaus hasn't done murders in such amounts and he is a maniac of the show.
Again, I agree.
Elena's plan worked? Wow:D
ReplyDeleteoverall pretty good episode!
I agree with you about Kol.I never wanted to see him dead and lately it was not just because he was hot.He was right about not Raising Silas. He was the most reasonable and where did that get him?Dead.Like anyone really cares if Elena will be turned back to human or not.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't understand why Elena,Stefan and Damon are still alive.I don't care about the actors' contracts.
ReplyDeleteRemember Logan Fell? How many innocent people did he kill when he turned? How many people have the bar newbie vampires killed so far? What makes these vampires worth saving?
I don't see any vampire as a good person.Vampire hunters are not the bad
guys for me.But for Elena and Jeremy who sympathize with them, killing thousands of vampires, people they'd never met just so that they didn't have to kill 20 of them??It's a twisted logic.
The fastest way to complete the mark was Jeremy killing all these vampires at the bar.In that episode they were trying to save vampires,in the next one, they were killing thousands of them. It doesn't even make sense.
ReplyDeleteLove Bonnie too!!
ReplyDeleteWho knows what Julie Plec will pull if the fans make a big enough complaint about it. I prefer Elijah but I think all of the remaining siblings should at the very least be on recurring status in The Originals, so I guess were in the midst of a wait and see situation.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree and I'm glad you pointed this out. This whole season has been about killing innocent people so that Elena no longer has to be a vampire. Just because these people are first turned into vampires, doesn't make killing them any better. And I don't get Julie Plec's love for Damon's character, but he's slowly becoming one of my least favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteWTH???????? Why, why?
ReplyDeleteOk, this show has so many lovable characters that every damn death hurts, but I have a week spot for the originals.
ReplyDeleteIn this show you can't defend anyone, they are all killers.
ReplyDeleteSilas could always bring him back. I'm thinking the whole "bringing people back to life" thing is true. But it's only part of it. Bringing them back to life as an army maybe. And Silas would have an army of vampires just from Kol and Finn's line alone. And I guess Mikael's line if he ever turned anyone but I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one seeing how messed up and morally questionable the characters have become. And Damon has obecome a source of frustration for me as well this season.
ReplyDeleteI would have LOVED the spin off being about their past. Flesh it out more and such.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with everything your saying--its a show about vampires, so I know I got to take things with a grain of salt, but the writers are seriously pushing it at this point.
ReplyDeleteWell... Kind of. It kind of failed, but the result ended how she wanted. It's just they almost died. lol
ReplyDeleteYes exactly. We still don't know what exactly happened to Tatia to begin with. And it would take a lot of TVD episodes to learn the history so the spinoff about the past would be the perfect solution.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Elena?
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDelete"He frees Damon, they don't look for the cure" Sounds absolutely logical.
ReplyDeleteSave the vamps in the bar? I must have missed that part.
Well, yes. JP is known to change the rules if it comes to the originals. That is why I think that it could be possible Kol returns.
ReplyDeleteElijah is my favorite original. He is the only sane one in the family. I'm still mad for him failing Jenna, but he is the only sane one. The only one that can be trusted.
Agree with every point you made. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteExactly!!!
ReplyDeleteMan i liked Kol but i knew the moment he came back he was dead. i just hated to see it i agreed with kol on his mission considering the evidence he gathered on what witches said of silus it sounded like he just wanted to keep the world safe i wouldnt have called him a villain but the heroes just couldnt see past his darkness and the cure.
ReplyDelete"Families with vampiric children''-yeah!That would have been amazing!!Or vampire families!
ReplyDelete"I'm thinking the whole "bringing people back to life" thing is true" I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteYou're right.
ReplyDeleteKlaus wouldn't have stopped searching for the cure, that's true.I was simply stating that if they wanted to find a way to deal with Kol,they could have but they chose not to.After all, that's what this show is about:choices.
Jeremy could have killed them that same night.Kol killed them the next morning.
ReplyDeleteRather liked this ep... Really liked the Rebekah/Stefan dance sequence. In fact Rebekah was the source of my favorite scenes. Loved that she stood up to Klaus. And thank you for finally letting Rebekah reveal herself and NOT get daggered as punishment.
ReplyDeleteI have believed that Klaus' character should have been killed off and taken off the canvas the first season he appeared, but I have to give props.
ReplyDeleteJeremy could have never killed them all alone.
ReplyDeleteBesides, they had to bring Matt to a safe place. Remember, they were compelled to kill him.
what i can't understand is as much as they bash kol, elena's decision to kill him is just selfish because all vampires in his line die with him and i can't see how that is right. i mean how many people have to get hurt or die just to protect this girl
ReplyDeleteWell think of it like this, Expression is probably what Silas used.
ReplyDeleteExactly. This whole Silas thing has more holes than swiss cheese.
ReplyDeleteIs there even a cure or not?
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteSome things don't make sense.
ReplyDeleteKind of what I wondered.
ReplyDeleteOf course there are many cults. Most are small and unimportant. But a cult like that should be big. Huge. Offering people to bring back their dead loved ones should make it easy to find followers.
