Though "The Killing" is returning to AMC next year, Billy Campbell will not be rejoining the moody drama.
During the first two seasons, Campbell played a Seattle city councilman who was elected mayor after being paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. His character, Darren Richmond, was thought to be involved in the murder of a high school student.
Although "The Killing" was originally canceled by the cabler in late May, the Fox Television Studios-produced show received a new life and now is readying for its third season. Showrunner Veena Sud and exec producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are currently in the writers room working out the storyline for the new episodes.
Stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, as a pair of Seattle cops, are very likely to return. Brent Sexton and Michelle Forbes, the grieving parents of the murdered girl, will not return.

Wouldn't have any sense without Kinnaman and Enos.
ReplyDeleteMakes a lot of sense. No reason to have grieving parents return after the murder has been nicely solved! Hoping for a completely new story so would expect brand new characters.
ReplyDeleteBasically at this point they are literally saying "Ehos and Kinnaman will be the only returnees".
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping they would find a way to tie in other characters to to make them relevant...but seems they want to start froms cratch with the next season.
I am happy this show got brought back to life. The CW and Netflix should do the same and give The Secret Circle a new chance.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame to say goodbye to the Larsens and the Richmond campaign team, but that story is over, no point bringing anyone back other than Linden and Holder. Although, I don't want another season of Linden saying 'yeah I'll be on the next flight'. Either she chooses to stay in Seattle or they relocate the show to Canada and bring Holder along for the ride, hahaha.
ReplyDelete..Common BILLY no return....AWWWWW
ReplyDeleteWouldn't make sense for Brent Sexton and Michelle Forbes to return anyway since their storyline wrapped up in the S2 finale.
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean AMC have officially brought it back?
Im glad to hear that. I like the Larsens, but season 3 needs to be a brand new story. I love Holden and Linden as a team. Can´t wait for season 3. Does anybody know when it will air?
ReplyDeleteI hoped for more Darren Richmond. He would have plenty to do :)
ReplyDeleteim surprised that Campbell is not returning cause he is the Mayor and im sure will be interested in the next Big Killing in Seattle.....☺.....
