  1. Fucking amazing. Things are getting insane.

On a side note, as much as I love her - anybody still think it's possible Debra did that to her own water and it'll be revealed in the next episode? I know the writers can get lazy and want to wrap that storyline up real quick but it's so easy to assume it's Hannah, much too easy.

  2. This review does a lot to expand on that debate:

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/12/10/dexter-do-you-see-what-i-see-review

Personally I really hate the notion that Hannah really did it, and I think the KEY scene here is the one where Hannah says that his need to protect his sister is destroying their relationship.

Its far more tragic if Dexter's own need to protect Deb is what causes him to inadvertently betray Hannah. The only thing that doesn't fit is Hannah's look at the end of the episode two weeks back when she's in the hospital (It made her seem uneasy in my eyes).

  3. Awesome episode. I can't believe I didn't see that coming, I was as foolish as Dexter to not realize that one of the 3 responsible for killing his mother was released by LaGuerta as a last ditch shot to tempt Dex/BHB. Sneaky bitch! While I love that its progressed the story, I dislike how all of a sudden they made LaGuerta smart.

Hannah thing turned out abouts how I expected except I expected Dexter to kill her at the end instead of let Deb arrest her. Now I worry if she'll let anyone know about Dexter... the more likely alternative is she'll screw Deb somehow.

Can't wait for the finale. Awesome season.

  4. ..This episode was very sad by dexter part because for now he never will had a sincere soul-mate another person he could trust and LAGueta plan is on motion but we have to wait what twisted situation take place and all the fall-out surrounded that

  5. I totally think the same thing

  6. It was clear to me that Debra did the poisoning herself, hence al the shots of her taking those pills and here lying about the conversation between Debra and Hanna.

    ReplyDelete
  7. So, Hannah did it. Good thinking. She took Debs own pills (not any other poison she usually takes), hoping it would look like she took too much. She, without a doubt, hoped Deb would die in that accident. She couldn't say that Hannah was at her place if she's dead. It was late at night. No one saw Hannah, besides Deb. Without Debs statement it would be just a miscalculation in medication. As long as no one took a closer look at the bottle.
Of course, there is another possibility. A very small one. What if Deb did it herself? I know, she's not the manipulating and lying type like Hannah. But Deb is desperate to protect her brother and put Hannah in prison. Since there is never enough proof to put the bitch in prison, Deb lives in fear that Hannah would hurt Dex. And he is all she has left. What wouldn't she doo if she's desperate enough? I know it's not like Deb. But it's a possibility.
I'm kinda sorry for Quinn. After Deb broke his heart he was happy with Nadia. Now he lost
    her. Poor guy.
Fucking bitch. LaGuerta is good. She sure as hell never was that good as Det. or Lt. I can't believe the bitch set him up. Well, Dex screw up this one. How come he never asked how they find him to tell him about Estrada. Different name, all adoptions files should be locked up. Besides Harry made everything disappear he could get his hands on, didn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Oh, so I'm not the only one thinking that Deb could do it herself.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, so I'm not the only one thinking that Deb could do it herself.
It's not clear. It's a possibility. Deb is not the manipulating and lying type. But it's
    about Dex.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Agree. LaGuerta never was that smart. In all her 15-20 years in the force she never was a good cop. Until now. Remember the guard from S1?
I don't thing Hannah would act against Dex or Deb. Don't forget she knew about Dex and
never reported him. Police and lawyers would ask why she was dating a serial killer and not saying anything.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Dexter is just a dumb asshole, betraying the love of his life. I'm sure Deb did that to herself.

    ReplyDelete
  12. First off, hello again kiaraA, I was hoping after our discussions on last week's episode that you would reply to mine again.

From what I noticed, LaGuerta was always only interested in the political side of being a cop, especially when she became the captain. Don't think I ever heard her complain about her low conviction rate until Deb took over as Lieutenant. And sorry, remind me of which guard you're talking about in Season 1?

My only worry is that if she felt betrayed enough by Dex that she might take down Dex with her. It's only a small worry for me as I feel like she did love him (and if the theories are right that Deb caused her own crash) and she won't rat him out. Still, can never be too sure. Based on the promo it looks like she might try to kill herself, or something happens to her in transit.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Good morning to you too. Or is it night?

The guard from the ice stadium. Nucci, Tucci, something like that. LaGuerta declared him as prime suspect in the ice truck killings. Deb warned her that he is not the killer, but LaGuerta didn't listen. That bitch never liked Deb. Even Matthews warned her to go slow or face the consequences. Then parts of that guy started showing up and LaGuerta hat to apologize. One of the best parts of S1. I was laughing so hard, I almost fall of my couch.

Hannah take down Dex? Well, you could be right. If she feels betrayed by him, … But from the few seconds we have of her in the promo we know she talks to Deb, kisses Dex and then passes out in her cell or car. As I said, if she says anything about Dex (and don't forget she has no proof; and we don't know if she knows about LaGuerta still investigating him) they won't stop asking questions. Like: When she knew about it for months, why didn't she report him? She's not a "frightened kid" anymore.

I think she poisons herself to prevent going to jail.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Morning/Night whatever, it's 2:14 am on the clock right now.

Ah yes now I remember. You think I'd remember something like that since I just rewatched the series over the summer. Yet another prime example of how awful of a cop LaGuerta is.

I could see the poisoning herself to prevent going to jail. Makes her line of "you should have killed me" make more sense since she would rather die then go to jail.

What do you think of, in the preview, the whole bit of LaGuerta arrested Dex? I'm guessing its more of a dream sequence Dex has. Perhaps Doakes shows up to lead Dex through what is going to happen to him. Or perhaps Doakes is part of the dream sequence where Dex is just thinking of outlandish ideas like Doakes has been secretly alive, LaGuerta arresting him, etc.

  15. So glad I am not the only one who suspects Deb of drugging herself! She did say she'd do anything to protect Dexter from Hannah. Even though it is good drama, I am a bit sad as I was enjoying seeing Dex actually feeling hopeful for the future. Oh, well, we know it has to end next year, but.....

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nighthawk? Me too. Normally. Just not today. It's 1 p.m. here.

Yeah, that guard. Exactly my point. She was awful. As you said it, she always cared about her political career and not so much in solving crimes.
I could imagine Hannah saying "you should have killed me" when Dexter confronted her about Deb. But in prison before she poisons herself? Never considered that. Would make sense. If she doesn't want to go to prison …
Oh God I hope so much he is just dreaming that arresting part. I have no idea how he could get out of there. If he's arrested it's over. Even if they release him later cause they have no evidence, he won't be able to go on as usual if everyone is keeping an eye on him. His career would be over. Can you imagine him testify in court when he was just suspected to be BHB (even if he with a miracle could keep his job)? He could be imagining LaGuerta arresting him. It could be Doakes as a new voice in his head guiding him like: "It's over motherfucker, they're after you" "What will your son think of you?" "You freak not just ruined your own live, but your sisters too"

  17. I know i didn't take DEXTER MORGAN to be as stupid as he acted last night.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Debra is becoming annoying with every passing second,i never liked her but i always enjoyed her character. But it's like she is constantly forcing me to hate her.She can't work out her relationships in her life and screw them and is ALONE,so does it have to be the same for Dexter? You can't find true love or even if you did (in the form of Quinn) you just ruined it,so you would make sure the same happenes to Dexter? She acts all like she loves Dexter so much but wouldn't hestitate to ruin his only chance of being happy and actually having a future.
Dexter is a FUCKING serial killer,an ault,he knows whom to trust and how to live his life or decide whom he wants to be with.SO just leave him alone for christ's sake Debra.
There was a time when i thought she actually cared for her brother but now it seems like she is just obsessed with him, trying to have him all to herself is SICK.If she keeps acting like a sociopath i wouldn't be surprised if Dexter just leaves her.Or she commits suicide.Cz sure as hell no matter what you do Dexter wouldn't love you the way you want him to.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Nighthawk, haven't heard that one. I'm assuming its the same as Night Owl.

The main reason I'm assuming the arrest is a dream sequence or some kind of "what if this happens" sequence is because they showed it in the preview. They're always trying to fake out the viewers by showing them something that doesn't necessarily happen as it was shown in the preview. Plus it'd be really freaking crummy of them to show the end of the episode in the preview.

I like the idea of Doakes being the voice in his head that says all those quotes that you mentioned, he'd be the perfect role for that.

My guess, if the arrest isn't a dream, it'll happen halfway through or something and Dex will escape and be on the run. LaGuerta will suspect Deb but not have any concrete proof and will gun for Deb next season. That's only if the arrest is real.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Or, maybe it's true and they try to bait the fans like "Don't you dare miss it".

But it could be imagination. As I said, I really have no idea how Dex could get out of that.

Escape and run for it? Possible. If he gets arrested, he won't go down easily. But that would be the end of the show. I mean, sure, he could kill somewhere else. And as soon as he could, he would let Deb (if she isn't in prison) and Harry come after him. Big happy family. But isn't the best part of the show the point that he is a serial killer working with the police?
I wonder anyway how far Dex would go to protect Deb. Didn't he said in the promo that he can't let go Deb down for him? Because of him?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ya I think him getting arrested would be the end of the show. Escaping and being on the run could be a half-a-season story next year, not sure how they'd drag that out over a year though. I do agree that the best part of the show is that he's a serial killer working with the police, or that's one of the best parts of the premise of the show.

I don't think Dex would allow Deb to get hurt in the crossfire. Unless he found out, if this is true, that Deb purposefully drugged herself so he'd turn on Hannah. That might cause a dilemma for him. But as it stands, and based off the preview and the sneak peeks, he won't let Deb go down for him, he'd rather take her and Harrison with him if he ran.

    ReplyDelete
  22. That is one of the weir parts. No matter how cold Dex seems, how many times he says that he is a monster, a sociopath, … He always has a soft spot for Deb. Even as kid. Remember the flashback from 7.1? She was so hurt when they had to give the dog away, he wanted to comfort her and tell her the truth. And in the other flashbacks we too see that he always protected her, picked fights to defend her. In S1 he killed his own brother (a brother that was like him) to safe her. I think, no matter how much he believes to love Hannah, he would always choose Deb over her.

But you're right. IF it turns out Deb did it herself, he won't be thrilled.
    AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is driving me crazy!!! This whole "drugged Deb" thing.

For Hannah it's kinda sloppy. Her victims usually never make it to the hospital. And Hannah knows what Dexter is, and what his job is. IF she did it, why poisoning her water, knowing there would be something left in the bottle to analyze? And she knew that she would be prime suspect to Dex, so he would search.

And if Deb did it? Why doing it on the road outside town? With the fast driving there is a big chance you get killed in a crush. IF Deb would have done it, it would be saver to pass out in the office or in town, there she has to drive slow (smaller chances for getting killed). But I still have my doubts. Deb isn't the type that would lie and manipulate. Especially not Dexter. Never piss off a serial killer, even if he is you brother.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Right! I've never truly believed Dexter was a monster because he, even when he doesn't realize it, has humanity inside him. He purposefully kills people who are deemed evil. And he has a soft spot for some people. Obviously Deb trumps everyone, but he does love his son, and I do believe he loves Astor and Cody. Heck, I think in a way he loved Rita. Maybe not in love with her, but he loved her for being a good person and keeping him human in a way. So I never doubted that Dexter would choose Deb over Hannah, but he isn't incapable of love.

The first thing I thought when I was watching the episode was, this is way to obvious to be Hannah. They drove that point home and wanted us to believe that it was Hannah. And I didn't even consider Deb as an option until I came online afterwards to talk about it. Back to my point, the first person I thought of was Hannah's friend (her name escapes me) that Deb was going to go interview. That could be why she didn't die from the drugs, because she doesn't know how much it takes. Plus, it would work out the best for Dexter because then Deb isn't the one who drove a wedge between him and Hannah.

But for discussion's sake, if Deb did it, it isn't a huge leap of faith (at least for me) to buy that she did it. Yes, getting behind the wheel was stupid, but she had to make it look real to get Dexter to believe it. But then she could have easily died. We can go in circles in this discussion... and I'm the only one talking right now. Well typing... I feel I should stop with this. Anyway, Deb did say to Hannah something about she would do anything to protect Dexter from Hannah, and that might include putting herself into danger.

    ReplyDelete
  24. He DID say in S1 that he likes kids and he could never hurt them. Ever heard that from a sociopath?

And yes, I think he loved Rita. After all this years he remembered what she wore on the first date they had. He picked it up for her funeral.

Too obvious for us and Dexter. To those who know, how Hannah works. And how Dex works.

Well, it was weird to me from the beginning. Deb lying in the hospital, telling Dex it was Hannah. I knew it was a possibility. But, as I said, I don't think Deb would go so far. It's just not her. On the other hand it's too sloppy for Hannah. She could put it in her milk or sugar, so Deb would drink it with her coffee in the morning.

As I said, it's driving me crazy. And I guess, not just me. We'll just have to wait for next ep and hope, they'll clear it out.

Arlene? Yeah, she's a suspect in other conversations. But most people think she isn't smart enough. I thought about that too. Then I remembered Wild things. An old movie. Ever watched it? Neve seemed like the junkie slut that is too stupid to pass high school. Turned out, she was a genius and the person who set it all up. We just don't have enough information on Arlene. Besides: did she even know where Deb lives?

My point exactly. We're running in circles here. We just have to wait.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Right. He's a killer with morals. That's what made Dexter compelling in the start, even though he had a sick/dark side, he still had morals that made him a complex character.

Yes I have seen Wild Things. Similar twist with The Usual Suspects with the guy telling the story being the actual mastermind of it all. Hell there's a bunch of twists like that. I'm hoping its Arlene as it would probably be the least popular guess by the fans (seems fairly divided between Hannah/Deb).

Well I guess, let us suspend our discussions until next Sunday when we'll hopefully have a more concrete answer on this issue and be able to discuss what happens with the whole LaGuerta/Doakes/Dexter stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  26. He's not just a killer with morals, he HAS morals. Let's face it, this world is sick, so are the people. They throw away their morals for some money or a better job. Dexter not only has moral, he stays with them.

Well, if it wasn't Hannah or Deb, there isn't much choice left. It could be Arlene. IF she is pretending to be so stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i Love the Humor on Dexter...the Best line of the epi was Matthews, "Maria drinks too many Mosquitos", LOL...i fell out of my chair laughing, LOL...☺....

    ReplyDelete
  28. I liked a lot about this episode.... but.....
I take issue with the writers insulting the viewers' intelligence by having Dexter completely oblivious to the fact that Deb could have (an I suspect did) drug herself.

Dexter is a man that sees angles and can think steps ahead , but in this case he seemed to have missed one VERY obvious possibility, a possibility he should have considered. Especially since the lab tech said, "... someone really wanted to drug themselves..." just before Dexter decided Hannah did it.

I think the writers on Dexter are too concerned with trying to create a huge "shocking twist" that they ignore everything else. Last year was similar in that the big twist was not a surprise to anyone. Well, OK, it was a surprise to the writers that the entire audience knew professor Geller was dead.
