Well done guys, you cracked it between you. Here's the completed hangman.

The heads of the royal household both react very differently to a certain piece of information. One almost comes to the conclusion by themself and accepts it straight away, the other has to be told and it takes some time to come to terms with it.

  2. Might as well start guessing. It's nice that the (presumably) last one is going to be a good challenge. I wasn't expecting it to be so long!

  3. I thought I would make a good long one for the finale, lol. What is reveals is a bit vague, but I hope it will tease fans enough :)

    ReplyDelete
  4. You are quite good at teasing but not revealing. I'm looking forward to figuring it out!

  5. No idea if you can answer this or not (I understand if you can't :D), but do we get any young Merlin at all next episode or is it just all old?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yep, we do :) I have written more about in the poll for episode 12 which can be found here - http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/12/poll-what-did-you-think-of-merlin_22.html

  7. This one is quite a bit tease, if people can read between the lines. I don't think I am going to be able to answer any questions about it once it is solved, lol.

  8. Sandi, I've never commented before but I wanted to thank you for doing this and being so patient.

    ReplyDelete
  9. aww, thank you very much for the kind words, you have no idea how much I appreciate them! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm not sure what I'll miss the most; the show or all those teasers, hangman...etc, I'll miss everyone

    ReplyDelete
  11. aww, I know what you mean. do you follow any of the other shows the site covers?

    ReplyDelete
  12. sandi you are sad bec of arthur or merlin or sthg else ? tell me at least :( i am so keen to know. And thanks for every spoiler you have given so far.

  13. Still too many possibilities for most of the words but I thought I'd post the WIP:

    The / *****/ ** / *** / final / elusively / been / ***** / **** / *********l* / ** / a /******* / power/ ** / ***********. / *** / alarms / ***** / ** / *** / conclusion/ by / ******l* / *** / triumph / ** / straight / away, / *** / ***** / *** /** / be / able / *** / ** / makes / **** / **** / ** / **** / ** / ***** / ****/ **.

  14. I'm not sad about this hangman at all :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. no i mean about the end :) ( my english can be bad sorry for that )

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ahh sorry, I misunderstood you as this post is about the hangman, people generally ask in the dialogue post for teasers. The episode was sad for many reasons.

  17. :( :( :( can't wait.

  18. I think the m's will be of great help :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think the part in the middle is "almost comes to the conclusion by HIMSELF," but the word in the puzzle is "---m--lf." I can't think of anything else that fits...

    ReplyDelete
  20. Still working on some bits but I'm getting somewhere and I can see others are guessing too so I figured I'd post what I'd got so far.

    The / *****/ of / the / ****l / **u****l* / b*** / ***** / **** / differently / ** / a /******* / power / of / information. / She / almost / comes / to / the / conclusion/ by / herself / and / entraps / it / straight /away, / *** / ***** / *** / **/ be / **l* / *** / ** / **k** / **m* / **m* / ** / **m* / ** / ***m* / w*** /**.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I didn't actually notice that! I can't think of any word at all that would fit if it was ***m**lf so until Sandi says otherwise I'm going to assume its a typo.

    ReplyDelete
  22. everyone wants the d
I should not be allowed on the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  23. what about

    almost / comes / to / the / conclusion/ by / themself / and / entraps / it /

    ReplyDelete
  24. "Themself" does not make grammatical sense, though.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think "household" fits better where you have "routinely." Just my thoughts!

    ReplyDelete
  26. You know, I thought about household but then decided it wasn't very likely and went with routinely! But if the word in front of it *is* royal then household seems more likely than routinely.

OH! You've just helped out even more, something's just clicked. I think it might be talking about two people getting to a conclusion in different ways... give me a minute...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm 90% sure I've got the last part! I'm guessing the spoiler is about a magic reveal and that's why Sandi won't be able to tell us anything once we figure it out?

    He = Arthur?

  28. The / heads/ of / the / royal / household / both / react / very / differently / to / a /******* / piece / of / information. / One / almost / comes / to / the / conclusion/ by / himself / and / accepts / it / straight /away, / the / other / has / to/ be / told / and / he / takes / some / time / to / come / to / terms / with / it.
    sounds great but
you said the heads of the royal household react differently one almost comes to the conclusion himself and accepts it the other has to be told and he takes sometime to come to terms with it if the he is arthur then who is the himself part about.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If is both heads of the household it can't be himself and he, one of them has to be a she, I'm guessing that's why is by themself (although it sounds strange) and could be Gwen learning about Merlin from something Gaius says, and the other being Arthur (he) who would learn from Merlin himself.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, that is the 10% I think might be a little bit wrong. I can't be themself, that's not a word. It could be a typo and 'themselves' or maybe I've got something wrong in the other half. It's got to be almost right though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The missing word is probably "certain"

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good! I think you've cracked it. The "himself" business could be a typo all together - maybe it's supposed to be "herself." Sandi will let us know in the morning, I suppose! We're just hours away from the end!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks! I think you're probably right.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's weird, I'm not a native english speaker myself, but always thought Themself was a synonym for himself/herself when you don't want to denote gender or using it as neutral gender-wise. And even if it's singular you would use themselves ? Like "someone has hurt themselves" ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hmm, you've got me thinking now so I've looked it up. Technically, it is correct, themself is used instead of 'himself' or 'herself' for referring back to the subject of a sentence, especially when the subject is a word such as 'everyone', 'someone', or 'anyone'. However, most people consider this use incorrect and its rarely used. I'm a native English speaker and when speaking to someone I'd always say themselves and even when writing I'd use themselves or if it sounded odd I'd change the structure of the sentence to avoid it.

    You're right, English is weird!

    ReplyDelete
  36. English is a weird language, I teach some Malaysian children and they struggle with it far more than the French and German they have to learn on top of Mandarin and Cantonese as well. They younger one (5 years old) is finding the whole phonetic thing very hard to understand as it only works up to a certain point, so he gets very frustrated :(

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think it's about how Arthur and Gwen will react to Merlin's secret. Thank you for this last hangman sandi :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sandi, thank you so much for this. It has been a lot of fun. You are awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hello Sandi, this is the first time I have ever commented on your spoilers but since Merlin is ending I though I should say thanks as looking at your teasers and trying to piece together an episode is one of my favourite times of the week. I am only sad that there will be no more

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am a Malaysian fan of the show and I have been a fan since Jan 2009. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Sandi for a great final hangman. I'm going to miss these!

I can definitely see why you can't answer many (if any!) questions about this as I'm almost certain this is Gwen and Arthur finding out about Merlin's magic (can you even confirm that?! I'm guessing the BBC would embargo any and all talk of reveals?).

I would love for it to be Gwen taking some time to come to terms with it and Arthur accepts is straight away. Afterall, Arthur doesn't believe Merlin is gathering vital supplies and there have been little hints peppered throughout this series like Arthur questioning Merlin's funny feelings and asking how Merlin knows so much about the Old Religion. Not to mention Arthur's dream (and how I loved that he didn't dismiss it or question it, he just acted on what Merlin told him). It would be great if he already had his suspicions and had worked through some of the hurt from Merlin hiding it from him so we don't have 30 minutes of Arthur being pissed at Merlin.

    I can't wait for tonight!

But then it'll all be over. :(

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh wow, that's great to hear! I can only speak a smattering of Cantonese, and even less Mandarin, but can't write any (unless 1, 2, 3 and 4 count?! lol). So from my point of view English seems easier. But since teaching the lads I've come to realise that it is a much harder language to speak!

  43. Hi Annamari, it's been great talking to you on twitter this season. Thank you very much for your kind words!

    ReplyDelete
  44. You're welcome! Sorry I can't confirm or deny ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Awww, thank you, you are very welcome! Do you watch any other shows that we cover here on the site? I'm not covering the Xmas episode of Doctor Who in this way as I just haven't had time, but I plan to when it starts up again in Spring. I also cover Being Human with teasers, and plan to do even more shows next year too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I know, it's hard to believe that there is only a few more hours left and then no new Merlin :(( I'm sorry I can't talk about the hangman at all really, but I will be in the post rating the episode after it airs tonight (although I may be a bit late to the party as I have to work). I plan to do a few follow up posts with polls and whatnot over the next week or two too, it would be great to see you on them too, you've been absolutely fab at all these hangmans!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah I cover quite a few shows on here! I will look out for your Doctor who as I love it. As for Being human I have been meaning to start watching but just haven't had the time, is it any good?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I adore it! and would recommend it to anyone who loves character driven shows. It's basically about how a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire try to turn their back on others like themselves and live their lives as humanly as possible instead. I think it lost it's way a bit during season 3, but it's back better than ever as of season 4 which was on earlier this year. It's due back in January :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thank you. I'll be sure to watch it when BBC3 repeat it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks!

I'm glad to hear there'll be some follow up stuff. Even though Merlin is ending and there won't be anything new, the fandom won't disappear overnight (I hope!)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I follow too many shows^^;; but the ones I really write and read the comments, I never saw those funs things like you did. I'll really miss them

    ReplyDelete
  52. Unfortunately, as I'm in the UK I can only do teasers for the shows over here generally. I plan to do some fun things for Being Human when that is back in the New Year, and for Doctor Who in the spring. There are a few other shows starting up soon, thou they have a much darker feel to them, which I hope will catch on. And hopefully we will start getting some news filtering soon about the show that will replace Merlin in the Autumn, which sounds like it will be the Three Musketeers.
