Ted Danson spoke at an event about what Jonathan Ames is cooking up for us :

"The deal for the 90-minute HBO film is about to be signed. Jonathan Ames is writing it as we speak. I'm very excited.

I think Jonathan becomes a policeman, which means, for him, a traffic cop. He'll have a traffic-cop go-kart kind of thing. And I think Ray and I move in together, both of us without relationships.

And then : hijinks. All hell breaks loose. That's about as much as I know. Lord, yes, I’m onboard
".

An HBO spokesperson said "We confirmed a while back that we were in talks about the film but we don’t discuss projects in development".

The Wall Street Journal.

If you haven't seen Bored to Death, stop what you're doing and start watching all three seasons immediately. And for all the others, let's rejoice that the film is clearly in the works !

  3. Jonathan Ames, a novelist, who decides to pick up private investigation. Ted Danson plays an older friend of his and Zack Galifanakis another friend. They're all stoners and they have wacky misadventures. It's awesome.
