..we want more psychedelic trip, the butterfly, the dwarf couple and the rabbit..mmm to short but the daughter that was beautiful and see how much he miss her very painful we hope he dont use the drug to see her really bad trip and advice
Fabulous episode! Jane's hallucinations were both hilarious and heartbreaking but I loved the gift they gave the shippers. Jane calling out for Lisbon, "Teresa, you can call me Patrick" and all of Charlotte's comments which clearly hinted that he had feelings for her. That was fabulous, subconsciously he knows he has feelings for her.
The tragedy is that he knows subconsciously and consciously that his obsession is what is keeping him from living, he just isn't ready to give it up...yet.
What does Charlotte meant by "Does anyone know who you are?? Come on tell me, who?" Is it a read herring from Bruno to let the audience suspect that Red John is Patrick himself?
It was more of a reference to the fact that Jane puts on an act with everyone and never lets anyone see who he really is. I guess the only people he's ever truly been himself with were Angela and Charlotte so Charlotte was wondering if there is anyone in his life who "knows" him like they did. And it's been evident over the series that Lisbon is the only person who knows him, both the good and bad apsects. That was what I thought anyway. Simon Baker holding a rabbit was just cute beyond words. Jane's face when Charlotte disappeared almost had me, as did the end scene. Just heartbreaking. Nicely balanced out though by the humour of Jane tripping! Very good episode.
Nice to hear your thought, I hope you're right! I read so much theories about RJ that i immediately have such assumption gosh. I'm with you, never i watch an episode that's so hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time. Jane and Lisbon go nuts on scandinavian/German(Im not sure) simply crack me up! Great episode, and how small beautiful moments could tell so much stories & emotions. Totally loved this one of a kind episode.
This was seriously amongst THE BEST Mentalist episodes ever aired so far.
Perfect , angsty and sad exploration of Patrick Jane and what the loss of his family means to him. There's something horribly depressing at watching him imagine/hallucinate the daughter whose life was taken from him. And at the same time the show manages to present it quite comically.
Seriously depressing episode and easily amongst the best.
Dude. Getting an episode from Cerone is like getting a birthday present. You're excited in the anticipation, go through a a cacophony of diverse emotions experiencing it, and are on a exhilarated high afterwards for days. He's just that good. And that's the best feeling an episode of any show can give a fan if their show. Mad props, Cerone. Mad.props.
I think he was trying to see his daughter again. But we'll find out one way or another in future episodes I guess. If he keeps it up, it has to affect his work life at some point.
Why so many downvotes to the above comment? In all fairness, it could really mean anything although I am fairly certain that Jane is not Red John. But the obvious answer would be that Jane is a really reserved person. He has really closed himself after the death of his family and no one really knows him, the real him. The part of him that his family knew. I think that is what she meant when she asked him if anyone knew who he was.
A very strong episode. The premiere was not bad as well. I have to say, after a weak season 4, the show looks in much better shape this time around. I think they have realized that they have been a little lazy with the show and picked themselves up. Hope the momentum continues. Now I am a little more exited to see what they have in store for the 100th episode and this season's Red John episode(s).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
For the life of me, I can't find any information on how old Dove Cameron is. Still, she's extremely cute!
ReplyDeleteA lot of Jane and Lisbon this episode. Jane, even your subconscious mind is telling you to go for it. Listen to it for once!

"Charlotte" really was just perfect. I love that 'Alice in Wonderland' mood, following the rabbit into a dream world...
ReplyDeleteSo, what do we think? At the end, was Jane just drinking tea, and remembering his daughter? Or was that, um, Tea, to try to see her again?
No idea.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the Alice in Wonderland feel too.
Great episode. I have some hope that the main plot will advance quicker this season and that it will be resolved this season.
ReplyDeleteI believe Dove is 16 http://www.youtube.com/user/DoveOliviaCameron
ReplyDeleteI think he saw them before he went into the house... Great episode!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing episode! Great season so far. Only thing that's left are deeper revelations about Red John, but i think they will get on to that this season.

ReplyDeleteI miss the days when a 16 year old actually looked 16.

I do think that there's a possibility of Patrick having a sort of split-personality, it would certainly be a fitting ending to the show.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! One of the best episodes of The Mentalist. It was different. Emotional and fun
