  1. This show is so good, but I'm worried that it's not going to be around for very long.

  5. I think I'm done for the time being. I'll check back in on this show at about episode 6 or 9. I just am not being drawn into it. I think my biggest problem is the parade of one off residents and the fact that Jane keeps coming across more as dumb horror movie blonde than smart inquisitive woman. It's just not working for me.

I'd be a lot more interested if this were more of a horror movie Melrose Place...not the soap opera shenanigans but I want to get to know the characters that are doomed in an ep. I want to care if the murderer they made up comes to life to kill them. As it stands there's no reason for me to invest in a new character because I know that by the end of the episode they're doomed. Perhaps if I met them...got to like them a week or two before their doom I'd care.
I was okay with Jane the first couple of times she headed down into the basement. For one thing she was exploring in the line of duty. She came across as someone who was fearless, getting to know her surroundings and finding interesting mysteries. The 2 am treks to the basement were pushing credibility for me. But when she goes into a room, where the door mysteriously slamed closed on her once before, without telling anyone where she was going or even blocking the door so she's not locked in again...she moved into the 'dumb' category.
The worst thing is that I'm bored. Don't get me wrong. I really want this show to be good! I love Vanessa Williams and Terry O'Quinn. But it's not there. So, I'll check in in a few eps (which I do hope they get) and see if any changes are happening that improve the show.

  6. its all in the eyes....as I watched last nights ep.. I noticed his eyes (Terry O'Quinn) for the fist time.. and they are scaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy looking as hell...every time they had him on camera....creepy man... I do wonder now what exactly did their daughter find out about her father being evil.. that made her take her life... but I think the is going to get better...I hope they don't get rid of it... we need more tv shows and less reality tv crap...

  8. I have to agree that there isn't as much story development around each "victim" in the episode but it seems that tptb are trying to fit in a lot of info each week to move the whole story ahead.

I'm watching mainly because of Terry O'Quinn and I think he is terrific so far! The mysteries will keep me watching each week too. I actually thought this week was pretty good and liked the creepy premise behind the woman reporter and her story.

I am assuming from the letter that Gavin's daughter was at least 17/18 since she was driving when she died. I'm interested in the back story and how that will play out.

The little girl and the suitcase should be good too. She looks like a little girl from the 1930's or 40's.

It's the best new show for me and I'll keep watching for now.

  9. "Dumb horror movie blond". LOL... I think I can agree with that. She said she's scared the whole episode, but she kept coming down, and screamed, coming down, and screamed... Like she didn't learn a lesson. That Gavin guy was a terrific actor, he's very creepy, but I'm not really into a show whose bad guy wins every episode... So, kinda losing interest, but will watch next week to really decide whether staying or not...
