A slower episode than the premiere, but still awesome. I love the development of Mike's character.
I'm wondering who Lydia is, and what's her connection to Gus. I hope they weren't married, as I find the theory that Gus and Max were in love much more plausible.
Even better than the premier! So much going on now, and so dark XD Cool that Mike almost had a whole episode for himself. Things ARE going to get intense... I loved the creepy impending doom musical score played when Mike called Walt back to say "I've reconsidered." And that smile *shivers, chills, fears* Sunday come here soon!
Perhaps Gus and Lydia weren't married but the daughter IS Gus' ?
I don't remember the episode exactly but Gus did claim to have children at one point, that I remember. Maybe, when Max was his love etc, he wanted descendants and so he had a child with Lydia. Kind of like Al Pacino's character was in Dog Day Afternoon. (although I highly doubt it was his wife because she would've popped up for DEA by now if it was so.
At first I thought Lydia was Mike's daughter but then that didn't pan out. I wonder how such a highly strung person got involved with the drug business of all things!
Great episode BTW, Mike's intolerance of Walt is magnificent to watch. Walt's manipulation of Jesse is terrifying and damn when Aaron Paul cries I cry. I am so scared for him and Skyler now. Honestly, please Hank figure it out and see what he is doing to the family and bring down Walt!
The German accents were at least acceptable, I heard way worse on other shows when you had to read the subtitles to understand what they were saying, I was okay with it.
I try to be hard on Breaking Bad, but every single episode is just so great, it's impossible to vote for anything else but awesome.
Getting a Mike-centric episode was unexpected but absolutely great. We learned a lot of things about him, about Gus' network and there's still much left to learn. Especially this Lydia figure who's going to be a new player in all this now and maybe some others of the infamous 11. Also hoping to learn more about the German connection.
I'm actually a bit confused by the entire Madrigal company. In English the name would be Madrigal Electric Motors, so what does this company have to do with food and Los Pollos Hermanos? Shouldn't they be dealing with electric engines and motors? If someone can help me clear this up a bit I'd be very thankful!
They do specialize in electric motors. They dealt with Los Pollos Hermanos in that they manufactured industrial-grade hepa air-handlers for the lab in the laundry building. Hence, the use of motors.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
who is this Lydia figure?

I also loved to see a Mike-Hour and as a native speaker the German they used was correct, only some of their accents sounded a bit off. :)
ReplyDeleteThe scene were Jesse broke down and after we saw how Walter switched the cigarette was heartbreaking.

Only us native speakers could catch that they were American actors speaking German. Their pronunciation of the words were as good as perfect.
