Yesterday saw two very close battles for the places in round two, with many peoples favourite for the second region of the competition, Chuck, exiting in round one. The Mentalist's win throws open this second region, and its tough to call exactly which of the shows can make it all the way to the semi finals... Also yesterday Scrubs said goodbye at the first hurdle, with Gilmore Girls seeing off the challenge of JD and company.
Today sees two more current and two more finished shows doing battle for a place in the next round.
Firstly we have NCIS spinoff NCIS: LA challenging this years most critically acclaimed new TV drama; Homeland. It's tough to call as the NCIS franchise has a huge following, yet Homeland has won the hearts of the majority of people who watched it. It will be an interesting battle!
Secondly we have Joss Whedon's most recent series, Dollhouse, challenging the show whose first season is still regarded as one of the best on network television in the last ten years. That show is Prison Break, and this battle will be interesting as both shows have been off the air for a few years. Which one has the larger following is a tough call to make.

I voted for Homeland and Prison Break! :)
ReplyDeleteSo did I. This round was a no-brainer for me :)
ReplyDeleteEasy one this morning,Homeland and Prison Break!
ReplyDeleteHomeland because it rocks.
ReplyDeleteAnd Prison Break, honestly only because of the french version of the openning.

Homeland and Prison Break, easy choice today!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that we don't have the Brackets for this competition this year. lol
ReplyDeleteHomeland of course cause it was one if not THE best new Drama show this year.
ANd Dollhouse cause even though it couldn't show it's full potential (WTH Fox!!) this series raised great questions about humanity and identity.
Just Prison Break today.Haven't watched the other three.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit,I was a little disappointed with the last two seasons but the first two,and especially season 1,was simply mind blowing!
I saw only one episode each of Homeland and NCIS:LA and Homeland blew the other away. I loved Dollhouse, but I'm holding off voting because I haven't watched Prison Break. Guess I should.
ReplyDeleteNCIS:LA and Prison Break
ReplyDeleteHOMELAND.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch enough DH or PB to vote in the second one.
Prison Break was very good,i watched the whole series last summer. The first season was superb, filled with action, and suspense. Its on the order of 24,in terms of pace, wish i had something on that order for this summer!
ReplyDeleteHomeland and Dollhouse without a second thought!
ReplyDeletePrison Break was good, but not even near enough the potential Dollhouse had... If only it was given a chance!
NCIS and Dollhouse
ReplyDeleteI will definitely add it to my growing list of summer watches. I just caught up on Person of Interest and tonight I'm going to watch the finale. Also tonight, HGTV's Design Star, very good this season.
ReplyDeleteNCIS LA and Prison Break (for its first and second seasons).
ReplyDeleteHomeland in the first poll. I think the last few episodes and finale knocked it down a peg or two from the perfection many see it to be, but it was still one of the best new series in years and let's face it... NCIS: LA is just bad. XD
ReplyDeleteI never enjoyed Dollhouse or the mediocre acting on the series, so by default Prison Break gets my second vote. The first season or two were fairly good and the original concept was a lot of fun.
Homeland and Dollhouse ;) I really like NCIS LA but Homeland plays in another league for me !
ReplyDeleteMore people need to watch Dollhouse. Some of Whedon's best work is in Season 2 of that show.
ReplyDeleteHomeland and Dollhouse!
ReplyDeleteNCIS LA and Prison Break
ReplyDeleteHomeland and of course Prison Break!!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted Homeland in the first poll, as I have never watch of the NCIS shows. Did not vote in the second poll as I have not seen either of them
ReplyDeleteHomeland - don't watch NCIS in any flavour
ReplyDeletePrison Break, even though it went off the boil after season 1 and I hated the ending, I disliked Dollhouse a whole lot more.
Dollhouse vs Prison Break is tricky. Dollhouse had some flashes of absolute brilliance, but struggled with identity and the unfortunate doll of the week stories. Prison Break had one good season and then became The show used to represent a ridiculous unsustainable premise. I think I'm going to have to go with Dollhouse for the great characters like Topher, the shear potential it showed once they dropped the doll of the week pretense and in the Alpha story, and the creativity in the idea. In the end, I think Dollhouse had a lot of good things going for it and the potential for a great show in there the second season kept getting better and better, whereas Prison Break had a nicely planned first season, several leads who were cute but not charismatic actors, and its potential was pretty much spent long before it was canceled.
ReplyDeleteBewtween DH and PB, both were uneven but DH had the better characters for me so that gets my vote and HOmeland was an easy vote for me.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Homeland although I do admire the acting chops of the lead actor.
ReplyDeleteAs NCIS LA, for me is just boring, I will give my vote the former because of the actor.
On the other hand I loved Prison Break.
Perhaps the last season wasn't as good, but the series gave me a lot of enjoyment, and for me that's what counts; so it gets my vote.
Homeland and Dollhouse.
ReplyDeleteI liked about 1.5 seasons of Prison Break but the rest of it was so awful it completely negated all the good the show accomplished in the beginning.
Homeland and Dollhouse, I don't imagine Dollhouse will get through though many people dismissed it early on and decided not to watch sadly/
ReplyDeleteI voted for NCIS: LA and Prison Break.
ReplyDeleteHomeland and Dollhouse!
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt HOMELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHomeland and still deciding.
ReplyDeleteLove both Homeland and NCIS:LA, but Homeland did such stellar character work (which is the thing that most draws me to a show) that it had to get my vote.
Dollhouse...definitely. I loved the first season of Prison Break ( I really loved season one) But Dollhouse is one of the rare series where they tried to do something different. I wouldn't say it was always perfect but it stepped out there and took chances in the kind of story it told. It's such a rare thing in television that I am a hard core champion.
"I don't imagine Dollhouse will get through though many people dismissed it early on and decided not to watch"
ReplyDeleteHeh. Tell that to all the people who continually vote for Firefly.
Homeland and Dollhouse,of course.
ReplyDeleteHomeland is on my too watch for the summer but I haven't seen it yet so I can't vote for it. In the second round I chose Dollhouse simply because I could not get into Prison Break. Suprising because I am a sucker for brother stories. By the way Adam, I think you are purposely messing with me this year since the one day I most definitely cannot get to a computer is the day Supernatural comes up for the vote. :-P
ReplyDeleteHomeland and Prison Break for me.
ReplyDeleteCAN'T BELIEVE NCIS:LA lost, great show, has action, great actors, and is funny! How can something that's only aired 12 episodes win this round?!
ReplyDelete
