Loved it! Felt so sorry for Fusco though...just when he thought he was becoming clean :( I wonder though, now he's associated with "HR" was it? Reese needs him on the inside because if I remember, they were associated with Elias...but Elias (or his men) know Fusco works for Reese...so that can't be good for him either way. Just have to wait and see what happens!
Awesome ep. Great backstory on Reese and the "Company" being "behind enemy lines" and working against the system to work another angle depressing, but creative angle. Felt bad for Fusco having to go back to the darkside, albeit to work undercover, and to make things interesting, but wish that he felt more from Reese/Finch other than being an asset. Looks like the POI/Carter will be safe since Snow and his cronies took care of him.
that episode made my mind race.. I so need a second watch to absorb all of this info we got .. loved the Reese/Mark back-story.. honestly, I wanna believe there's a human side to Mark Snow. awwwww Fusco, I felt really sorry for him.. It seems like everyone is put in harm's way (except maybe for Finch)
that LOS guy being one of the CIA was a complete shocker.. It's so nice to have Mark back, even if he's so evil (the evil side of me loves him xD).. loved that Carter and Fusco were told that Reese/Finch is gonna use them then get rid of them after he's done.. they're planting doubts into their heads which, after I saw Carter's expression, I hope is something will be a plot in the season's end..
If that's a piece of what's to come in the last couple of episodes of the season then that did it "I'm terrified already"
Something else I noticed was how The Machine recognized Reese in '08 as he was walking out of the building.. that was awesome! And there was certain degree of passiveness from the machine as well.. there wasn't much things related to it throughout the episode esp. since the last scene in Wolf and Cub..
Wow. Don't even know where to start. Too much information, still needs to process it!
For some time now, I wondered if they would be tempted to franchise POI: the machine gets everything in the United States so it isn't expected that all the numbers had to be New York-related (unless Finch's backdoor into the Machine as some parameters to reduce his range of action to more human standards, and even that way Finch felt he needed a partner...). I would hate to see a "POI: Las Vegas", "POI: Los Angeles", etc, etc, etc.
With the road they are taking, I feel a bit more relieved now. I am almost certain that POI will have one of the darkest ends ever in serialized tv. Doubt, betrayal and sour endings are looming POI's horizont.
I'd hate to see POI of any city.. NY is fascinating enough <3 no offence intended :)
" I am almost certain that POI will have one of the darkest ends ever in serialized tv. Doubt, betrayal and sour endings are looming POI's horizont." I'm a sucker for those endings .. & it really looks like it!
I don't think Elias or his men know about Fusco working with Reese yet.. maybe they have doubts about him like that HR guys said to him "hard to trust the guy who's buddies wind up in prison".. but I'm pretty sure they're gonna find out!
I've watched it again, too. And the scene you refer, I had this feeling about the hooded man being Finch's former partner, Ingram... That would be a cool mess ;)
I agree about the other cities. What I meant in my original post was that I would hate it if they took the path of franchising (like "we have a great story, good audiences, let's milk this cow and go CSI style") because that would mean Carter in high heels running after bad guys :))
Those kind of series cannot handle a darker, sour ending. POI as it is, will handle it naturally: - Fusco's degrading situation: he will end either killed or in jail, but always as a corrupt cop; - Carter is - by the measure of law - a corrupt cop herself; - Reese having Finch being followed by Fusco: it will backfire in a pretty ugly way... - If the hooded man held inside the bathtub is Ingram (Finch's former partner), how casual was the decision of Finch when chosing Reese to help him?... Twisted revenge much?
It's official: POI makes me think about things, not just enjoy them. Since Lost I had missed this feeling :) (now bring Terry O'Quinn as special guest star for a two-episode story arch and it's bliss!)
how casual was the decision of Finch when chosing Reese to help him? see this point exactly was what I was asking myself after I saw the machine recognizing Reese in '08 (the yellow box around him) after Snow told him to go out... that would mean that Finch perhaps knew Reese is related to his parter kidnapping.. and if the machine is doing its own predictions then perhaps it knew that he'll end up being an "asset".. it sounds crazy! 'coz after all I don't think Finch's decision to choose Reese wasn't at all casual.. I was loving the idea that Finch was somehow responsible for Ingram's death.
Terry O'Quinn guest starring would be really great! LOST reunion <3
Wow. I loved this episode. Loved the Reese/Company back story. It felt like we got a little clue as to why what's his face was trying to kill Reese. He doesn't abide by his people not doing their job perfectly? Though LOS was so obnoxious that I was kinda glad to see him go the way he went. I felt so bad for Fusco. He whines a lot but he'd been feeling better that he was on the right side. And the case was a really good one.
"Since Lost I had missed this feeling :) (now bring Terry O'Quinn as special guest star for a two-episode story arch and it's bliss!)" +1I agree with you. I feel the same here.

ReplyDeleteVery good episode! I loved the flashbacks into reese's past and every episode the stakes are getting higher. Can't wait for the next!

Amazing episode, one of the best of this great season. Now we know who is behind Snow, "Company" is very danger threat.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I need to watch again. Fusco now is in more danger than I expect. Very good dialogue between him and Reese in the end.

yeah it was a really good dialogue.. they played the underlying fondness they have for each other really well :)

ReplyDeleteI watched the episode again and still better than ever.
ReplyDeleteSomeone see in the Reese's flashback the guy stuck in the bathroom. I think that hostage, is someone we know.
