  1. WTF? No Breaking Bad?
    Are they serious?

  2. Fringe never existed... as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I so happy for Zooey, but I wanted a nomination for Stana [Castle]

    ReplyDelete
  4. Only happy for Duchovny and Irons. The rest, same old same old.

    ReplyDelete
  5. No Best Comdey nod for 30 Rock??? Well, maybe I got 2 used 2 it...
    Tina Fey, yay!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Did anyone in the world watch Boss? :P

All in all, this list is very good. Nice to see Homeland, Game of Thrones etc etc get some love.

Surprised Galecki got the nod over Parsons also...

  7. No Breaking Bad
    No Community
    Golden Globes = fail

  8. Same old same old?
There 4 freshman among the Drama nominees, and a sophomore. Doesn't seem "same old, same old" to me. But they left out the best series on television, and that is unbelievable.

  9. =/ JOHN NOBLE!

  10. no damages? love that Episodes, Enlightened, Game of Thrones and Revenge
made it tho interestin that best dramas are all new shows xcept BE

  11. just need Aaron Paul now!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Really, really unlikely to ever happen.

    ReplyDelete
  13. T'is quite surprising tbh! Espesh with no Mad Men this year, I think many people had it locked in for the win...

Turns out they were wrong :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, especially because it was in fact the best drama that aired this year.
Anyway I have a feeling they just wanted to left out old series, to inject new blood. In the drama category there are 4 freshmen with only one series in its second year. In the Comedy there are 3 freshmen and two classic at their 3rd year.

  15. Parks and Rec should have been nominated!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think there were a lot of compaints about it being Mad Men/30 Rock dominated event, despite Glee & Boardwalk winning last year...

It either has been a great year for new TV (Homeland & GofT suggest this) or they seem to have adopted that policy!

Cranston is still up there though, but that would be mental if he wasn't!

Parsons won for TBBT last year, and now this year no nomination! Same for Sagal in the Best Actress category... it's a little bizarre! :P

  17. I didn't think the Golden Globes would snub Claire Danes,Damien Lewis or Homeland,i will not be to upset if they don't win anything,i'm just happy they got the nod of excellence.

There are some fine people nominated this year,it will be a very exciting night and i cannot wait! :D

    ReplyDelete
  18. Bizarre to say the least.
I don't really like TBBT, but I recognize that Parson is a great actor, but the fact is that Galecki is not. I can understand why the nominated him at the emmys along with his pal, but not here, and not as the only TBBT star.

  19. I'm over it now... in fairness 2011 has been a weaker year for Fringe that 2010... so I was never expecting it.

John Noble is always overlooked, but in my mind the only thing worthy of a nomination this year when compared to other shows.

And I say this as a big Fringe fan :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. And also Anna Torv! In season 3 she's amazing...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow! Callie Thorne nominated for NR .. That's Awesome! I like this list .. no more award-snagging-shows .. let other shows compete too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. What a joke. Is this a thing, to nominate almost exclusively drama series that started in 2011 ?

Among the 3 drama categories (series, actor, actress), there are 15 nominees and only 4 were on the air or part of a show on the air before 2011 (Boardwalk Empire, Steve Buscemi, Bryan Cranston and Julianna Marguiles) ! That's some bullshit right there, same for comedies (3 out of 5 for best comedy) and yet Glee still manages to get a nomination despite that disputable angle the biased people chose to adopt.

Callie Thorne ? This year's Piper Perabo, I guess.

Jeremy Irons ? He's good but he clearly didn't do such a memorable performance on The Borgias. But he got an Oscar so you got to give him a Golden Globe nomination now he's on TV.

New Girl ? Glee ? Well, we see which shows FOX is supporting, they give the spotlight to their (stupid) hit shows and let the least watched / most creative, original ones (Fringe and Raising Hope) behind.

Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara are the two main cast members on Modern Family I would not give nominations for, but they still belong here a lot more than Zooey Deschanel (aside from being cute and acting dumb to be adorable, what does she do on the show ?) or Johnny Galecki (he looks bored on the show, and if it's not that then he's not very expressive, and certainly not as good as Jim Parsons).

  23. I can't Believe AHS was nominated but The Killing wasn't!! Or that Sofia Vergara was nominated and Michelle Forbes wasn't. Happy for Idris Elba, hope he wins! Luther could be in there also... David Duchovny, honestly? I love him and enjoy Californication, but he doesn't really act! No Fringe, no Danny Pudi (didn't expect either nominations anyway...), no William H. Macy or Joan Cusack, who are incredible on Shameless.

  24. "Same old, same old" was refering to films, directors, actresses and actors. Actually surprised Ryan Gosling got 2 noms. One is pushing it in my opinion. Great choices on the international films.
TV: Breaking Bad, Community, Parks and Recreations all deserved noms. New Girl and Episodes, Zooey, no Parsons? Really? And I don't understand why Glee gets nominated for everything. Wasn't expecting AHS, kind of tired of Modern Family, very happy for Homeland, Downton Abbey and Games of Thrones.

  25. Hope this gets enlightened renewed :)

  26. Im sorry but Episodes is terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Im sorry but where are the comedies in the Best Comedy section?

    ReplyDelete
  28. These nominations seem a little...lacking to me. So many other better ones I can think of.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Glee is still there...and yet since the start of season 2, it's getting worse and worse. I am not a Glee hater, I still watch it every week, but it don't deserve a Golden Globe nomination..

    ReplyDelete
  30. I didn't know, thanks for the info.

No seriously, personally I liked it. I've enjoyed The Comeback (with another Friends cast member, Lisa Kudrow) and Episodes is just as witty and funny. I just love the plot (showing how a US network destroys a great british show by remaking it) and the cast is pretty great, although if there had been better nominees I wouldn't have chosen LeBlanc.

Besides, it's not like there's much of a choice in the comedy category. I would put Community, Parks and Recreation, Bored to Death, The League, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Raising Hope, Wilfred, Shameless and The Big C ahead of Episodes. Modern Family is a decent show, but they've had enough awards. Glee is unbearable, New Girl is the proof you can take a cute actress + a cheap premise and make a hit, Enlightened is good but not as good as Episodes... that leaves Episodes for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  31. WEEEEEEEAK. Really, Golden Globes? That's it? Where are Breaking Bad, The Good Wife, and Justified and how did Boss and American Horror Story get there instead? Where are Boardwalk and Breaking Bad in the supporting actors category? How is it that Glee and New Girl are up for best comedy series and Parks and Recreation isn't? Meh, I have so many problems with these nominations, I don't even know if I'll bother tuning in.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Boss is kind of a train wreck, but I do understand the Kelsey Grammer nomination. He is the only part of Boss worth watching.

I think the biggest shocks are Madeline Stowe and Callie Thorne  and then Thomas Jane and David Duchovny for me.... Then men are not from new series, but I am shocked that Californication and Hung got nods for their past seasons and their far superior earlier seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I thought Episodes was just ok, but I wholeheartedly agree it is the best show on that pathetic list of comedy nominees.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think I would add another really or two to that ... XD

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree, if the FRINGE cast and show did not get nominated for last season they were not getting it this year...

Love the series, but I have some perspective I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can give the Galecki nomination a pass since Leonard is so completely unlike Galecki in rela life and Leonard is almost designed to be "unfunny". He is the straight man for the rest of the cast's jokes and I think he does it very well.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I watched Boss... or tried. I stuck it out for 5 episodes before giving up on the mess. Although Grammer was very good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some good, some bad. Whatcha gonna do I guess....

    ReplyDelete
  39. The GG is all about ratings. That is why Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp got nominated for the crap-fest that was The Tourist last year.

This list is terrible. None of the people who won the major comedy awards at the Emmy's were even nominated. I didn't expect Community or Fringe to get nominated even though they have been two of the best shows on television for the last few years. No Parks & Rec or Sons of Anarchy is just another major fail in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I really need to watch Homeland! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Boss started off promising, but I gave up on it, just couldn't get myself watching even though Grammer was pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just as usual, the Globes TV nominations are always a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I still dont understand how year after year sons of anarchy misses out

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks...the same old are nominated it is getting boring

    ReplyDelete
  45. This is the most "new" or different list of any major award show in years that I can recall. There 37 of the total 55 nominations for TV that are first year programs.

It literally cannot possibly be the same old that's nominated when the majority of the nominations are first year programs.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It has  gotten a little love for Katey Sagal. Hell she's even won a Golden Globe, but to not ever have a best nomination for the program as a whole is a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Slightly better than the People's Choice Awards. Which is to say that they are deserving of mock and shame! XD

    ReplyDelete
  48. I seriously don't get why these awards are ignoring what Anna Torv is doing on Fringe. The woman is playing 2-3 different characters at the same time. Liv, AltLiv, Liv as AltLiv, AltLiv as Liv ..etc..  it's a shame really, considering how great of a job she's doing!

    ReplyDelete
  49. All i want for Christmas is my Golden Globe nominations!!!!!!
Yay Homeland all three categories and good job Necessary Roughness!!!!
Where is Big Bang Theory for Comedy series?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Same as the SAG noms...no Justified or Fringe? At least Homeland was recognised this time.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That just might be but the chances of a new show winning is slight in my opinion unless they have gotten huge praise...but if it turns out that most of the winners are the new shows I'll eat my hat and apologize

    ReplyDelete
  52. Don't get me wrong i love Anna Torv but have you seen what Claire Danes has done in Homeland? If you think Anna deserves watch Claire she has only been in 8 maybe 9episodes and when you do you will know why.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ahh. I thought you meant the same old nominees.

I agree most of the winners will be same or similar. This year may have some surprises though with all those new shows!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I hope that there will be some surprises!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Going thru the nominations again and i noticed Zooey D. and New Girl listed, what i would really like to know is WHY? Sorry,i just don't understand how they do things at times?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Aaaah...... GoT for the win!!!!
