Sepinwall just Tweeted that NBC has pulled Community from its midseason schedule.

Story developing.

UPDATE:

"Community" is definitely NOT cancelled, NYT's Bill Carter says, two cubicles over. NBC says it'll be off the air for only a brief time.

    NO. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this!

    I was really hoping that Whitney getting picked up for an entire season wouldn't affect Community but that's likely what happened. What I figured would happen when Whitney got the full season order is that Community would get bumped because 30 Rock is going to need a slot on the Thursday schedule to return to midseason.

    Intriguingly it seems to be Up All Night which has killed off Community... Whitney has moved nights and Up All Night has the other of the 4 Comedy slots on Thursday!

    Say goodbye to Prime Suspect too, it's not on the schedule.

    Also disappointingly, there's no Awake on the schedule!

    Excuse the language but this fucking sucks. I try to be respectful and understand that not everyone likes the same things but when The Big Bang Theory gets off-the-charts numbers and Community gets pulled...It just reinforces the belief that network comedies should pander to the lowest common denominator.

    Stupid sells. Smart doesn't.

    The irony is deliciousssss.

    Actually one of the things that drives me up the wall about TBBT is how incredibly disingenuous it is. I just don't see the appeal but like I said above I try to respect that not everyone is going to like(or dislike) the things that I do.

    It's just difficult to do that when my favorite shows are in danger of being canceled, lol.

    I try explaining the exact same thing to some of my friends all the time. As many times as I've tried to watch TBBT, I've hated myself a little bit more. I've watched some really terrible shows in my time, but I just don't see what's so appealing about TBBT.

    You have no idea how glad I am to have read that discussion. TBBT blows my mind.  I thought "Oh, a nerd-based comedy, surely I'll love it" until I watched 5 minutes. I can't imagine anyone with any level of intelligence watching/liking that show
