That's good news in a rather bad day. Community does pop reference better than any show on TV and is one of two shows I can regularly count on for a laugh. Amazing how many comedies don't guarantee that these days.
Thank God. This only means that they have no faith in one of their 'newer' shows and are waiting to pull it b/c they know that they gave Community a full season order this season and will re-inert it again. Thank GOD. And since they gave season 3 a full order, this means good things for season 4 for syndi - where all money is made back on a show. This is probably the most anyone has cared about an NBC show this year. LOL!
It's not a big problem for me to wait, like, 3 months between Mid-December and March if we get all 11-12 episodes in a row, without breaks, from March to May, as long as the show is back. Last year, between late February and mid April, there were only 2 new episodes I think, that was pretty annoying. This time, it's just a longer break with not a single episode in the middle, but then there will be a whole bunch of new episodes, without jeopardizing the show's chances of getting a fourth season. It could be much worse, like during the 5 minutes I thought Community was cancelled, a half hour ago.
And also, people, there's a fantastic news in NBC's lineup for midseason, that makes me very confident in a fourth season of Community (other than my blind fanboyness) : the duo Whitney/Are You There Vodka on Wednesdays at 8. Mwahahahaha !
Both shows are/will be the dregs of TV and will implode withing a few weeks, I guarantee you, they will both be cancelled in May, if not sooner, because they are in a shitty timeslot, thank you NBC for that one. Whitney has decent ratings right now only because it airs after The Office. This January, all alone at 8pm on Wednesdays, no one in their right mind will tune in for that ! And they both will be up against American freaking Idol ! I'm so happy of that. This might be the first time I want American Idol to have huge, enormous ratings. Go, crappy real TV ! Please get 30 million viewers so that Whitney gets barely 2 million viewers, mwahahaha (but leave 8/9 millions to Suburgatory (on ABC at 8:30), it's a great show).
And that news of Whitney/Vodka's upcoming doom, that's niiiiiiice.
The way I see it, if Community can just get one more season of 22 episodes, it pretty much has syndication potential AND it'll likely get a proper ending since community college doesn't last more than four years.
The way I see it, if Community can just get one more season of 22 episodes, it pretty much has syndication potential AND it'll likely get a proper ending since community college doesn't last more than four years. Six years and a movie, though, fingers crossed!
I was actually being completely serious, but alright. :) I think Community's only problem is its not garnering accolades like 30 Rock and nominations like Parks & Rec. It's ratings are only a little lower, but it's not bringing in the praise.
Okay you were serious, but if you re-read the line you wrote, its very funny.I am not making fun of you,its just NBC really sucks.Over the last 4 or 5 yrs. they have been going downhill fast. With NBC being the way its been would it really surprise you if they actually did cancel the show? NBC would probably replace it with a horrible show that they thought would be brilliant. At one time, many years ago NBC had wonderful programming, and they were #1 for many years.I hope i didn't hurt your feelings, and your right community is a good show, one of there better shows i think. At least its not going anywhere... :)
Whitney is only doing better than Community because it has The Office on before it. If Community was on after The Office it would be getting good ratings. That's alright though Whitney will fail on Wednesday at 8. Such a horrible show, which will in turn make chelsea lately's show fail and NBC will dumb again.
Oh, thank God. I had to go for a long car ride with my sister and listen to really angry music when I heard it was cancelled. I was expecting to come home to worse news than this. I'm not convinced it's coming back, but hey, now I can hope for a little longer. Yay, denial?
I just want to see a 4th season and see Jeff graduate. Of course it would be nice of the show could last longer, but 4 seasons and a proper ending would be okay for me.
We have to wait until, when, February? Just when Annie moved in with Troy and Abed? Pierce has become an interesting character again, so has Jeff? Britta and Shirley are confronting their different ideas about faith? More Dean Pelter and less Chang? The show has never been better and I will miss it.
It is good to know that it isn't cancelled but it doesn't bide well for the show. It is a damn shame because Community is a fantastic and enlightening show

Just updated my post about it, but yay!
ReplyDeleteThis still fucking sucks, though.
I don't even watch the show (anymore) but I find the story concerning it very intriguing for some reason.
ReplyDeletei was freaking out here!!!

ReplyDeleteStill a bad sign for the future. :(
ReplyDeletePhew!!
ReplyDeleteWhile it's good that they confirmed it's not canceled, having it disappear off the schedule doesn't seem like a good thing, either. :(
ReplyDeleteAt least it'll return. 6 seasons and a movie...*insert Troy crying*
ReplyDeleteYeah this is bad no matter how you spin it. If they move it to another night, knowing NBC, it will be Friday.

ReplyDeleteI choose to take this news on the bright side.

Thankfully, NBC doesn't have super high ratings standards, so it's not dead yet. Positive thoughts!!
ReplyDeleteNow that was funny. :)
ReplyDeleteSo do I. ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAArgh! The fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI'll be disappointed enough if it gets cancelled at all! I would have probably gone into a coma if it had been cancelled midseason.

ReplyDelete:D

ReplyDeleteIf not cancelled, why is it then not on the schedule? Glad still online but is disconcerning, it's a good show
ReplyDeleteThe last episode was one of the best episodes so far! Every one was great in it!
