Oh, I'm glad you like it. We're quite proud of that export. :)
Been a while since I watched LFN. Beats the CW version I think. And the soundtrack was really good. CW version is too glitzy in comparison. Peta and Roy were just more gritty and dark. I mean Roy's stone face thing was so much more interesting to me than Shane's military, yes-sir attitude. And the addition of Alex, while interesting as a concept, is not doing anything for me with Fonseca playing her.
I prefer LFN too... by far. For the reasons you mentioned - the soundtrack was incredible and the moodiness and tension was palpable! Frankly though I prefer LFN in every aspect except fight scenes and special effects. Nikita's action sequences are very good while LFN's were cheesy even when at their best.
Also because I think Nikita being "recruited" and inside Section 1 (or Division on CW) makes for a far better story than her being on the outside. On her own and yet still managing to elude the most sophisticated bad-ass spy agency in the world time and time again...
Yeah, I have to agree on the action scenes. In the beginning(/middle??) of S1 there was a fight scene in a house between Michael and Nikita where she wrenches her own arm out of its socket....they win on the fight scenes for sure.
And again, I agree that eluding Division with no help, except Alex fumbling her way around on the inside, is unlikely. Especially compared to when Michael helps Nikita "die" and elude Section One (although off screen) for a while. He, or maybe Birkhoff, would be the only people in possession of enough intel to pull it off.
And Paul and Madeleine were way scarier than Percy and Amanda. The mind games they played with Nikita and Michael were better too.
There is a new show coming in the Internet tonight taht I, along with a large number of Supernatural fans, will be watching tonight. It is called Divine. Misha Collins, and a large part of the SPN crew are involved in it. It is at 9:00 pm. CST. Not being on a Network, it won't make the polls, but it hat I will be watching at that tiem.
I´m happy to hear that you like the danish version of The killing. Forbrydelsen is really good.
I´m also watching Deadwood, like you recommended. I have seen the first 6 episodes and still don´t know what to think. I LOVE some characters and HATE some others, so some of the time I think it is great and some scenes just annoys me.
I LOVE Timothy Olyphant as Seth Bullock. I Love Justified and his part in Deadwood is very similar, so it was easy to like him from the start. And I love Ian Mcshane as Al Swearengen. He does a great job. I do NOT like Jane at all. Every time she pops up on the screen it is just another scene that needs to pass as quick as possible. I can see Dan and Doc becoming favorite characters later on. I still don´t know what to make of Trixie and Alma. Do you have favorites ? Since you watched all episodes, you will have a different view.
Like you I loved Bullock and Swearengen. I really liked Doc Cocahran, E.B Farnum, Cy Tollivar and Charlie Utter too. Trixie and Joanie grew on me a lot by the series end too.
Some of my favorites you have not met yet.Silas Adams(Titus Welliver), Francis Wolcott (Garrett Dillahunt)George Hearst (Gerald McRaney)
Just watched the first episode with Silas Adams. I can already tell that he will be a favorite! I like Joani and Cy too, but E. B. goes on the same list as Jane.
I really like the set up and the stories, so I´ll probebly end up watching all the seasons in the next few weeks.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
against the wall - i really like the show, nothing special but a nice filler
ReplyDeleteMy faith in humanity is restored in some small way by the fact that no one has checked "MTV Video Music Awards Live" yet.....

I can see that.
ReplyDeleteIf I recall Deadwood took a little while to grow on me too, but then even the characters I disliked became enjoyable.
Like many large ensemble drama series, it can take a little while for the introductions and exposition to make way for the real plot of the series.
May I ask which characters you LOVE and HATE?
I loved the first season of The Glades, but I quit watching 3 episodes into Season Two I think.... it really changed from last year.
ReplyDeleteBigBorther, True Blood, Curb your Enthusiasm

True Blood and Entourage. I´m gonna miss Ari Gold in another month or so. He is the most funny man on TV.
