I'm not sold yet, but It has potential. Alexandra Chando who plays Sutton and Emma reminds me of a young Katie Holmes quite a bit.
Then we have the love interest from Kyle XY (Kirsten Prout), the random cheerleader from 10 things I Hate About You (Allie Gonino), the girl from Lincoln Heights and Make It Or Break It (Alice Greczyn), the guest star girl from Lincoln Heights (Sharon Pierre-Louis), and the good guy from a bad neighborhood from Switched at Birth (Blair Redford)... It's like an ABC Family reunion! XD
The mystery plot ins interesting... the high school politics... not so much.
If it stays centered on the mystery more than the high school stuff , I can see it holding my attention. If it goes the teen soap route I am gone.
Thought I'd drop a note in here too. I updated the poster and a keyart photos to HQ in the archive. http://spoilertv.co.uk/images/albums/Pilot%20Shows/The%20Lying%20Game/Season%201/Cast%20Promotional%20Photos/The-Lying-Game-Poster%5B1%5D.jpg http://spoilertv.co.uk/images/albums/Pilot%20Shows/The%20Lying%20Game/Season%201/Cast%20Promotional%20Photos/The%20Lying%20Game%20Key%20Art%202.jpg
watched a few minutes and it didnt impress me i think i'll just wait for Ringer, hope it flops so Chloe King has a 1% chance of renewal or something (Switched at Birth was also way better)
Out of sheer curiosity, I checked this out. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It's not stellar, but it seems to be passable summer entertainment. Of course, no one tuned in so it's all moot.
The pilot was very promising, I can’t wait to see how the season unfolds. I was especially impressed by Alexandra Chando’s ability to handle the dual-roles, she does a great job of capturing the subtleties between the two characters. One great example was when Emma (as Sutton) challenges Nisha by the pool. Knowing what the audience knows, just by looking at her facial expressions during the whole scene (and right after, when she talks w/ Laurel about why Sutton was adopted and what her parents might be keeping from her) I’m really impressed at how she conveyed emotion there – you can watch the scene at http://vimeo.com/27925968Also, so glad to hear “Only In Dreams” by Letters play in the background, that’s such a nice summertime song
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show is awesome

ReplyDeleteReminded me of Pretty Little Liars a couple times. But I'm not totally sold yet.
