Logistically speaking, NBC has no incentive to heavily promote Chuck, given that it's the last season and barely anybody is watching the show to begin with. NBC has always in the past spent loads of advertising money on their new shows, or on their Golden Oldies (The Office, Law & Order: SVU)
I actually learned a lot with this. The first thing I realized is I don't watch much NBC and I probably won't next season. Prime Suspect and Smash have great casts. I might have to try them. Free Agents may be worth a peek, but Whitney is annoying me in these 25 minutes. The Sing-Off is America Idol meets Oprah philosophy and Grimm can't be explained. Thanks NBC for the cheat sheet.
I just uploaded the video to the site, but I can't edit Dark's post to update the video. So here's the direct link for those that do not want to wait for the post to be updated.
Yeah I know. It's still makes the wait frustrating, for the premiere there was only a 15-20 promo of Chuck jumping down and knocking the a guard unconscious and saying "I'm so out of spy shape!".
@twitter-325771865:disqus @facebook-571921351:disqus @twitter-25329725:disqus The video is updated and easier to watch than the previous direct link. Sorry about the wait, I missed DarkUFO and I could not edit the post. Enjoy! :)
It's a mid-season premiere, so I'm guessing they only included the Fall premieres. Honestly though, Whitney annoys me so much I stopped watching after 3 of her host segments,
The 2 fall previews I've seen (NBC and CW) have both been terrible. You would think they'd pull out their best writers in hopes of gaining new viewers instead of annoy people so badly they can't wait for the preview to end. Al this did is prove that I don't need to see Whitney.
Actually Smash is a mid-season show as well. I know Awake is mid-season, so it's strange that NBC would highlight one mid-season show and not another, but it looks like that's what they did.
They probably highlighted Smash because that show is suppose to be the biggest show for NBC this season. NBC is banking on it to be a success which is probably why they are giving it early promotion.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love her!
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a video that's viewable for all?
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame NBC barely promotes Chuck, it's an advantage during renewal, but it's makes the wait even worse.
ReplyDeleteIS a Hulu link any better? I'm not sure which sites block which regions.

Emily I posted a Hulu link, but I'm not sure it will work any better for you.... Good luck.
ReplyDeleteSorry, America is not the world. Hulu = US/Canada(?)
ReplyDeleteDamn! Sorry....
ReplyDeleteIt was the only link to the vid I found online when I search.... I'm sure one will turn up soon.. if not I will download it and upload to SpoilerTV.

ReplyDeletePlus DVD sales are property of WB ... so NBC loses out on profits from DVD sales too.
ReplyDelete"We're sorry, but the clip you selected isn't available from your location. Please select another clip." I HATE not living in us....
ReplyDeleteCheck back in 15 or 20 minutes....
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded it and it's uploading now.

wow that makes me not want to watch anything on NBC!
ReplyDeleteill still check out Grimm though n i watch Harry's Law but thats it for me and NBC till midseason
Same... NBC just has had a terrible run of bad pilots for years now. I watch Harry's Law regularly and Chuck occasionally... that's it.
ReplyDeleteI do plan on checking out Awake, Grimm and Prime Suspect, but none are a guaranteed must see for me.
"Stocks plunge after S&P downgrade..." today's headline. Still wanna live in the U.S.?
ReplyDeleteAnthony Head in Free Agent is still Rupert Giles!

ReplyDeleteokey, thx
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's just Community and Chuck for me this season...

ReplyDeleteWhat about Awake? I thought this show was supposed to go on in the fall.
ReplyDeleteIt's a mid-season premiere, so I'm guessing they only included the Fall premieres.

Please NBC cancel her series already....
I actually agree. It is really dreadful to watch her. Her jokes aren't evern clever funny. They're just annoying.

ReplyDeletewow. i'm not interested in any of these shows.

ReplyDeleteGrimm is probably the only show I will be watching.
