Gossip Girl - Connor Paolo Confirms his Exit

It looks like the Van der Woodsen clan will be down one member on Gossip Girl this fall. Connor Paolo’s time as Serena’s kid brother Eric has come to an end.

The actor — who is a series regular on the new ABC drama Revenge — can’t even imagine a scenario in which he’d return. Asked if he would go back to Gossip Girl should Revenge get canceled, Paolo shakes his head. “I’m done,” he tells TVLine. “You should never go back in life. Only forward.”

    Wow... Am I the only one who thinks that this came out of the blue? Gossip Girl shoul have ended a long time ago. Let's see with what story the writers will come up to explain another exit.I really liked Connor and his character Eric but it seem  like his exit wasn't quite amiable since he can't imagine a scenario in wich he'd return. Hope they manage to come up with a half decent ending at least.

    I didn't like him in the last episodes, but it's the same with many characters in GG, I think this season will be the final! or at least I hope so!

    Hmm...he was the only Van der Woodsen I liked. But his character was supposed to go off to college, and it's not like he got that much screen time in season 4. Maybe he really just does want to move on to new things.

    awwww i'm gonna miss him. Eric was the only 1 who wasn't tangled up in so much drama. As much as I liked him, it does seem pointless to have a character that has no drama, especially on a show like Gossip Girl

    the season 5 plot should have been :serial killer on the upper-east side with a personal agenda murders Jenny, Eric and Vanessa

    He signed up to be a full-time cast member of another hour-long drama way back in the spring.  This was hardly out of the blue.  I saw this as a foregone conclusion.

    Eric was the only young character on Gossip Girl more dull than Nate.  They just never seemed to write anything interesting for that kid.  I hope he has better luck on Revenge.

    Well, that gives me one more reason to slowly ease off watching Gossip Girl. Eric was definately one of my favourites and if there's no Eric or Dan and Blair, then I think it's time to call it quits on this show. Well, at least Connor realizes that his run on GG is definately done and he won't be coming back. Now, if only they had shipped him off to a college out of state, which they'll probably retcon and do in the premiere.
