The only problem is that Euthanasia would likely cost you much more than 6months in jail. Unless, she accidently, on purpose, overdosed a terminal Huntington's patient.
When it comes to the law it's about what you can prove, not what you did. If your theory is right, she could have been able to plead down because the prosecution didn't have enough evidence to bury her.
