  1. I've voted for The Tomorrow People (RIP!!!) and Happy Endings (RIPPP!!!), but major honorable mention to The Secret Circle too (RIP!!!). Happy Endings will be revived at some point though, I still believe it. The other two are big losses though because the shows took a little while to find their footing, the audience bailed, and then they became awesome and were canned. Really sucks

  2. Many :(

Revolution, Almost Human, The Tomorrow People, The Secret Circle, 666 Park Avenue, Trophy Wife, Terra Nova, Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Finder

  3. Forever, Constantine, Almost Human and Carnivale just to go back a few years.

  4. Odd mix of shows here, but picked Happy Endings from the list.

  5. The Secret Circle and Tomorrow People had a lot of potential, they just needed a bit of time and some fine-tuning in the script-writing. It's a shame they weren't given more attention. If there was an other option I was thinking also of Star-Crossed, the starting point was great: aliens arrive and have to integrate into human society through school.

  18. I will never forgive the CW for cancelling TTP and The Secret Circle - both were really good shows. Also Hart of Dixie shouldn't have been cancelled with these stable Friday night ratings. An honorable mention is Twisted.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I went with The Tomorrow People and Hart Of Dixie, but I also liked The Secret Circle, Eye Candy and The Lying Game. However the ones I miss the most are Dollhouse, Witches Of East End, Looking, The Nine Lives Of Cloe King, Revolution, Black Box and Dracula.

Tomorrow People - it had potential.
Don't trust the Bitch in Apt. 23 - Krysten Ritter was fabulous & James Van der Beek was hilarious.

Why is Melissa & Joey in this list?? It's not even ended yet. It still has almost an entire season left.

Not on the list: Legend of the Seeker, FlashForward, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, John Doe, Traveler

  34. The Tomorrow People and Happy Endings on list
Others Draucla Trophy Wife Marry Me Stalkers Star-Crossed Life Unexpected

  35. Where's Chloe King? That was a good series. Including Kyle XY. ABC Family always cancels the good stuff. I remember one really good series from ABC Family that was cancelled but it got a proper ending overall which was Wildfire.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I didn't watch any of these so my picks-
    Deadwood
    Enlisted
    Almost Human
    Revolution
    Reckless

    ReplyDelete
  37. Unfortunately for these shows, nor did the rest of America. While a few on the list were good shows, they all were very low watched shows that warranted cancellation. None of them really ended too soon.

I miss HoD but it had a decent run,was lucky to last as long as it did & had a proper ending.Melussa & Joey I'll miss but it has a decent run,can be syndicated, will likley-hopefully-have a proper ending& creatively I think it's it time.Hellcats,Secret Circle ended too soonLying Game too-sucks they all ened on huge cliffhangers & we'll never concludion/resolution.The rest if the shows on the list I didn't watch.

Mono, it Dosent. It has til Aug 5 before it airs it's series finale

    ReplyDelete
  40. Happy Endings shouldnt be on this list, it got a 3 seasons and 57 episodes, which is a lot in era of many freshman fails and getting only 13/22 episodes max!

    ReplyDelete
  41. The Tommorow People and The Secret Circle, both good shows on CW, and both didnt get chance for Season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Brandy Danforth7 July 2015 at 14:47

Ratings aren't the sole factor in renewals/cancellations-HoD can be syndicated,it didn't do well internationally& I've heard Rachel wants to stay home with the baby.CW HAD to cancel some shows & weren't gonna have room for it and it was the third lowest rated show on Czw airing in in season after Messengers,Reign. Its ratings we're stable but not that good at 0.4.Plus,it was only given a fourth season to get to 70-88 episodes for syndication and it's ratings in s3,especially the last half were really bad.

Do not trust the B in Apartment 23, seriously this needed a lot better ratings than it had.
    Trophy Wife
    Malibu Country
    Enlisted
    Surviving Jack
    Alcatraz
    American Odyssey
    Almost Human

  44. Chuck (or just a better ending because i was very disappointed)
Private practice ( Ended on a good note just sad to see it go)
    Life Unexpected
Friends With Better Lives( that was a pretty funny show but CBS never gave it a chance)
    Witches Of East End

On another note all those shows on that list were horrible and i understand why they were cancelled. IMHO

  45. Brandy Danforth7 July 2015 at 15:09

Quality or lack thereof has nothing to do with cancellations/renewals just if a show makes money

    ReplyDelete
  46. Quality does relate to cancellations because if the quality is good then ppl would be watching which in turn makes high rating and more money( with a few exceptions to that rule i.e good wife) but if the quality is bad ppl FOR THE MOST PART don't watch it

    ReplyDelete
  47. The Tomorrow People, Helix, Forever, Stalker, Ringer. Ringer should have had another season. I hated how it ended.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Brandy Danforth7 July 2015 at 15:45

No it Dosent.People say how "quality"Unzteal is yet noones watching, same with Jane the Vurgin.Lots of people think BBT isn't a "quality" show yet it gets great ratings.Majority of people hate reality shows like Kardashians,Diggars,Bacherlotte/Bachelor yet they get good ratings.Good Wife is a supposed"qypuality" show yet hardly anyone's watching & it's been that way for years. The 100 is a supposed" quality" show yet few people watch it.CWs BatB shelf think its a "quality" show yet half don't and it hasveryfew viewers .
Secondly, quality is subjective-not everyone thinks the same shows are"quality" shows.
So I say again, quality Dosent matter & isn't a factor in renewals/cancellations-it's if a show makes money,.If quality mattered so much as you mistsbkley think it does why do people moan about networks canceling the "quality/good " shows or canceling "quality" shows but keeping the bad ones?If these shows were as "quality" as they say would punt they been renewed?Lots of people say certain shows have jumped the shark/aren't good snymore(VD,SPN for example) yet they stsy on year after year, because they make the network.Networks don't make money off"quality".

    ReplyDelete
  49. The only in recent memory at the top of my head was Revolution although I don't remember how bad the ratings were so maybe it did deserve it. Minus the horrible nano plotline that took over it was still much more enjoyable than many NBC has or had.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The Secret Circle and The Lying Game. Dead Like Me and The Tomorrow People's cancellations also blow big chunks.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Happy Endings! I would have voted for Enlisted too if i had the option to.

TTP and Perception always in my heart & ALWAYS gonna miss them and I'll never get over them. Perception loved the end but it should have continued it was brillant. Same for TTP I wish Jara could have been back in S2

    ReplyDelete
  54. Brandy Danforth7 July 2015 at 16:31

No it DosentNetworks are a business,in the business of making money & shows are cancelled /renewed based on ratings & if they make enough money in various ways to cover products costs.Quslity Dosent help pay bills.
Secind,if quality mattered as much as you mistakenly think it does, why do most people complain every year about there being no "quality shows" on or how networks cancel the "quality " shows but keep the bad ones? Why would Firefly get cancelled if many years people though it was a " quality " show? same with Hannibal.Woukdnt they have been renewed since they're suppossedky "quality " shows?
Third, quality is subjective-not every one will think the same show is "qualityCritucs thought Line Star was "quality" several years ago but the viewing public didn't & it got quickly cancelled.Crtitcs thinkUnReal,Chasing Life,Jane the Virgin,Good Wife are "quality " shows yet hardly anyone watches. Most people don't think Bachelor, Kardashians are " quality" shows yet they get good ratings.Lots of people think BBzt isn't a "quality show"yet lots of people watch cause lots of people do.Sonpme think UnReal is a Quslity show yet hardly anyone watches.Woukdnt it be the other way around ?

Happy Endings not having a happy ending brings me sadness.

    ReplyDelete
  56. While there are many shows I still miss that I wish had more seasons, from the list, I wish Eye Candy had caught on more because it was far better than its title and network implied.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Enlisted is one of my biggest losses. I still miss the Hill brothers.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Forever and Constantine, both not on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I didn't say quality was the sole factor to cancellation but that it related to it in most cases. But like i said there are exceptions to every rule. But the rule is still if quality is down ratings will go down too which will lead to cancellation...just look at scandal everyone complained that last season quality went down tremendously and the rating show it. And we both know that reality shows arent judged the same as scripted shows so idk why they were even mentioned. Ratings equal base of pay... the more it rates the more money you can charge ( with the exception of CW which still has TVD as it highest advertising rate) And all the shows you mentioned were exceptions not the rule *insert He's Just Not That Into You reference* :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. None of these.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Looking at the list only reminds me of my hope for networks to introduce a "Closure campaign". Wich would pretty much be a fund for cancelled shows granting each cancelled show six additional episodes to wrap their run up. That would make the shows more benefitial for streaming services (thus a higher license fee) and home video sales. But yeah...no one ever listens to my ideas...

    to the actual topic:

I wasn't a fan of TTPs cast, in fact everyone except Mark Pellegrino was incredibly bad. It's sad to see it end on a cliffhanger though, however that could have been dealt with by giving it 6 additional episodes to wrap it up...jus' saying. The same applies to Secret Circle with the only good actress there being Britt Robertson.
HoD had 4 good seasons, so no, it didn't end too soon. It did get the cancellation undeserved though, it did better than both Reign and BatB did in better slots.

Shows I think were cancelled too soon:

Cult, a well crafted creepy series blurring the lines between TV and reality. Well acted and written but sadly shafted to midseason and aired to an audience of young people mostly focused on hot people.

Firefly, a show that seemed like it was made to last. Sadly it didn't, a fantastic cast and thick plot lines didn't save the show from a network that didn't give a crap about episode order or the show itself.

Constantine, a show that unfortunately was given the 9 PM slot on a friday night. A slot that screams "we don't give a f**k". Not fantastic but solid as a show

Forever, charming and light are the words that best describe this procedural. Sadly it wasn't watched by enough people. Certainly a deserved cancellation and gladly had an ending.

Kindred - The Embraced, the pre-version of Buffy, Vampire Diaries and The Originals. When vampires still were creepy as hell. Only 6 episodes were made until the lead actor died from a motorcyclle accident. Dwelving deep into the dark and twisted world of a mafia-esque vampire society this show was probably the best we could have ever hoped for in the genre.

Moonlight, another vampire show. This time a procedural. Canned because of the writers strike this show certainly had a lot of undead life in it when it died.

Intelligence, this show was basically an 80s action flick in TV form. It wasn't well written but fun. Canned for good reason but still sad to see it dead.

    others:
    Hostages
    The Flash
    Almost Human
    New Amsterdam
    Ringer

  63. On this list, Hart of Dixie and Happy Endings. I know a lot of my fellow HOD fans think HOD had a "satisfying" ending but I think another half season would have been useful to wrap up and show some more of the stories, the last season (only 10 episodes) was sooo rushed! And, you don't end a show with the central love story having a baby and then not give the audience the name of the baby, that's just wrong!
Besides the one you list I would add, Franklin & Bash, Enlisted, and The Glades.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Other: Battle Creek, Stalker, Red Band Society

    ReplyDelete
  65. Agreed about Chuck (that ending was horrible. How people can love it, and claim it was "satisfying" makes no sense).

    ReplyDelete
  66. Exactly like they could have atleast gave Sarah her memory back!

  67. I would have liked to have seen Last Resort up there. I would have loved for that show to continue. Fortunately, the Last Ship came along and helped fill a hole.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The two shows I picked were; The Tomorrow People and The Lying Game.
The other shows I watched that were on the list: Eye Candy, Twisted and Melissa & Joey!
Not on the list: Battle Creek, Believe, Stalker and The Following.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The Tomorrow People and Hellcats..Definitely!!! I was so pissed about those shows, I'm still mad over TTP. That show had so much potential. It definitely got better as the episodes went on. Hellcats was the same, i'm mad it ended on a cliffhanger, no closure for that show, ever! I knew it was going to get cancelled though, I wanted to be wrong. But that so rarely happens. (Haha). TSC sucked so bad. I was beyond happy when they cancelled that series off my network! Just terrible. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  70. The Secret Circle!!!!!!!!!!! The BEST show (IMO) The CW has ever had. I miss it dearly.
