Actor will appear on Season 4 of CW superhero drama starring Stephen Amell.

“Teen Wolf” actor JR Bourne will appear on Season 4 of The CW’s “Arrow,” playing the DC comic book villain known as Double Down, TheWrap has learned.

Bourne is taking on the role of Jeremy Tell, a metahuman who can turn his playing card tattoos into deadly weapons. As a metahuman, Double Down is more closely associated with “The Flash” mythology in the comics, and is a member of the villainous Rogues gallery.

  4. Very happy about this! Great actor!

  5. "As a metahuman, Double Down is more closely associated with “The Flash” mythology in the comics, and is a member of the villainous Rogues gallery." But then why is he on Arrow? I love the show AND JR Bourne, I'm just kind of confused?

  6. That is a terrible power. Plus, he looks like zombie Gambit. I'm sure they'll TV it up a bit. And JR Bourne should be fun. Screaming crossover potential.

  7. Wooohooo! Have adored him since his Stargate days. Hoping his character pops up several times over the season - on both Arrow and Flash

  8. Ohhh so in imdb I saw that someone got casted as nightwing is this casting news real. Can someone investigate???

    ReplyDelete
  9. I hoped he would stick around in Unreal...

  10. It's just a rumor, I checked the actor, he seems to be a bit obsessed to play Nightwing in a TV-show (Arrow and upcoming TNT Teen Titans). Everybody can edit imdb like wikipedia, but if he did himself or someone else or if it's really true, I don't know

I hoping he not just a villain of the week but a small story arc.....maybe a HIVE agent or future enemy of the flash

  12. It IS JR Bourne, so hopefully.

  13. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! That is some power! Although isn't that very Gambit from Marvel? Also i wonder if he's like Deathbolt or was he affected by the Particle Accelerator.

I not familiar with him so why he is well like

    ReplyDelete
  15. He plays both villain AND hero very well, he's a character actor and when you cast him it's DEFINITELY not a guest spot.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Really happy for him, I love him in everything.
Actually I've been rewatching the entire Fringe series and I noticed he was in it, he had one scene in an episode of season 2.

  17. Chris Argent!! Yay. I miss him on my TV.
But isn't that metahuman too much for Arrow world? I know they accepted metahumans and magic and all that but turning playing cards tattoos into weapons is too out there for Arrow. Will that be Ray's first metahuman after deshrinking?

So happy about this! He was amazing in Revenge and this motivates me even more to start watching Arrow!!

  19. GREAT NEWS.
    I'm a huge fan!

they will make him a non metahuman I sure of it and probably using a realistic way of protraying him...maybe he be a magician who is a master card trick and also as a deadly weapon

  21. I kept waiting for the article to say that he's going to be in the crossover.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love him.
( in case he needs directions )

    ReplyDelete
  23. He's one hellava actor n fine, very interested in seeing what this show does with his character.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Because he's a darker character than you usually find on The Flash. Same for why Murmur showed up on Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Love him!!! Love him in Teen Wolf and I'm currently loving him in Revenge (binging it now that it's over) So excited for him to be on Arrow! Is he going to come back to Teen Wolf though?

    ReplyDelete
  26. HE WAS IN FRINGE!!! I've been dying to rewatch the show and now I have more motivation!

    ReplyDelete
  27. They're planning for BOTH Hoechlin and Bourne to come back in the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh yeah! He was that CIA guy coming after Michael!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh sweet a Rogue and JR Bourne. More importantly Double Down. That's a f*cked yet cool choice.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If they don't alter his power. I disagree. Magic and metas are a thing already. And Arrow is a part of this verse. Really nothing is too out there.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's kinda the point. He's a walking horror show. The consequences of being a meta should be explored.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Darkness. Arrow would feel more at home with this than the Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wait is it Steve R. McQueen?Because he's really obsessed about it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's not that he's a metahuman, it's that his powers are a little too wacky for Arrow imo. I mean the show not the Arrowverse that's why I said Arrow world.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He's probably going to be a metahuman. They've abandoned realism long ago.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Except they're not Koky. Laser eyed metas who predate the accelerator, mirakuru, the flash, the Lazarus pit, etc. All these have appeared on Arrow and all these break the rules of realism Arrow had. There's no difference in terms of plausibility or out there really between this, the pit or Barry's powers. They're all implausible. Plus Arrow isn't in it's own world physics wise. It's bound to the same rules of the Flash, LoT, Vixen as they are to Arrow. If it can happen here it shouldn't be too out there here. The only difference is rarity (like how in Batman comics meta humans are far rarer but still occasionally exist with implausible powers- like Clayface). Even through they are a change of pace, I welcome it. While I don't want constant metas. A few here or there as a change up would be interesting. Not to mention a cool challenge the team has to face and wrap their head around. Plus chances are his powers will be changed.

  37. Also just a shot in the dark but this could be a possible crossover event villain given he's a rogue.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Which I love to a degree it's hard to put to words.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not really. Gambit can charge objects with kinetic energy. The only real power similarity is use of cards.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Could be. Also could be a setup for LoT.

    ReplyDelete
  42. You still don't get me. I feel like it won't fit in Arrow. Ok like remember episode 9x13 of Smallville when everyone started doing everything Clark wishes? Or when Chloe wished to know what's it like to be Lois and woke up as Lois? Now imagine that on Arrow. As much as I LOVED those episodes they would feel out of place on Arrow. They don't mesh with the tone of the show, even if it's going to be a lot lighter. It's not just that they're going to introduce magic, how they do it is very important. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see how they handle it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm happy for you. Really I am. You being this excited about metahumans on Arrow might be the main reason I'm making my peace with it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. That kind of thing wouldn't fit the Flash currently either(body swap on Flash no wish yeah). I see your point, but this isn't an issue of tone difference (it'll be dark given the powers). It is important but to reinforce that this is a shared universe now things like this have to be done. No matter if they feel out of place (which would no matter what, but that's why I like this) at times. Though I don't think it really does. And it will become less strange. Just like Flash, and metas did.

    ReplyDelete
  45. JR is amazing. I hope he gets a multiple episode arc.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That's well sounds kinda nice. I think? I'm glad I helped you find peace with it. I don't know how to react this is and this getting awkward. I understand your reluctance but exposure and continued introduction to all things meta human, magic and powers should make it easier.

The casting guys deserve a pay raise. They've outdone themselves this season.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Nope its some guy named nick something. I know steven is obsessed andhe ould make the perfect nightwing.

  49. I know. Right ?

The Legends of Tomorrow writing team tweeted it out today.

I think arrow will do a metahuman but they will always be low power villains.....

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hahahahaha I know Double Down. That's funny. I didn't see that in the cards. LOL (Pun intended) I don't' know the actor though. But I'm lookin forward to this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He has the look and build, but lacks the effortless charm and charisma of Dick. Plus not sure about his ability.

    ReplyDelete
  53. He's pretty good. Was good on Teen Wolf, Fringe, etc. I'm pumped for the exploration of metahuman body horror and love that they're really going out there with new Rogues.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It always sounded fun. Well in that dark Arrow way. But it will be lighter.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Don't know him. And I knew you would be pumped.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I see he's been in 13 Ghosts (That movie sucked ass) and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and that movie wasn't that good for me to remember all of the characters.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Not to mention the Secret Circle.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah lol it's safe to say if it involves magic, powers or f*cking reality and time I'll be looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. arrowshieldfan24 July 2015 at 07:56

it will probably be lighter with more jokes/humor but that dark element will still there.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't really care about the acting as long as its not cringeworthy lol. Who would you suggest should play nightwing.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Haha. Safer than safe, it's baby proofed guaranteed. Lol

  64. He will always be Martouf to me.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank goodness! I miss them both so bad!!! There's a dynamic that is currently missing on the show cuz they aren't there, at least in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  66. He kinda reminds me of Antony Starr in that photo :o

    great choice!

    ReplyDelete
  68. his name is Nick Theurer

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh ok, i thought Gambit could only change cards, my bad.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Are you going to watch "Vixen"?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I completely forgot he played Isaac, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Probably. Looks cool. Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin are in it. Plus it introduces a new aspect of magic, and if successful might be live-action. You?
