  1. Grey's 25 episodes and Scandal 21?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Scandal 21? What about Nashville?

    ReplyDelete
  3. I've just seen it in missing section

    ReplyDelete
  4. It seems quite random to have Scandal have 21 episodes instead of the usual 22.
And 25 for Greys? Why did ABC decided to give them the supersized season?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Watch GA stealing everyone the show.
    All the usual numbers.
I assume the Fall freshman shows can get a back order.
Why do I feel ABC's schedule will fall apart this year?

    ReplyDelete
  6. GA 25? It's been a long time since i ahvent seen that number D:
Nice that Wicked City si only 10 episodes. It will work things faster.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Only 22 episodes for The Middle and Black-Ish ? Usually it's 24 for all Wednesday comedies.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yay for Grey's! ABC clearly has faith in it. It will now officially be ABC's longest running show.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Aryam Manzueta18 June 2015 at 19:01

All of the missing ones are going to be 22 or more, except Dr Ken. I thought American Crime and Secrets & Lies would get 8 episodes cause they'll just be bridges, but I guess not.
Also, I think The Muppets will end up being like Gotham (ABC said it would have a limited order, but if it does good, which I think it will, they will give it a full order)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Castle will get one additional episode order later as usual.GA got 25 episodes-happy,i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It's good that most new shows has an episode order between 10-15. It's easy to follow them in this way :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Aryam Manzueta18 June 2015 at 19:02

Those 2 extra episodes order usually come in October-November.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think GA will air in January with HTGAWM but Scandal won't. This explain the 4 extra episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Surely The Middle will get two more eventually, right? It's always had 24

    ReplyDelete
  15. Loving the episode counts.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Glad to see HTGAWM and Agent Carter get more episodes next season!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Htgawm get less. This season we had 16.

    ReplyDelete
  18. They technically did 25 hours this season as well, since episode 23 was extended to 2 hours. They just have a lot of faith in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Happy for the 22 episodes of Once Upon a Time! It's my favourite show :D

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hope we get a another extended episode of OUAT again, I really enjoyed the last one.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Scandal having 21 episodes seems weird. And GA getting 25 episode for 2 consecutive seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nope, we had 15.

    ReplyDelete
  23. HTGAWM has the same episode order.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thought it was 16.
    But still no increase. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  25. The finale was episodes 14 and 15, not 15 and 16.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Galavant got an increase in order, but it will be probably yet again double episode burned off.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I expect Scandal to get 22 by November ( though they struggle creatively last season with 22)

Greys can easily do 25 with a huge cast ( maybe they will have 2hr eps again)

I expect the comedies as well to get extra eps order in Oct/Nov

    ReplyDelete
  28. 5 Weeks of Galavant is still better than the 4 we got last year.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I know, I just hate that treatment this show has.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Good, good. Although I think The Catch should've been given 10 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Scandal getting 21 ep is weird, but 1 episode more or less isnt really a big deal.
Nashville, Modern Family, The Goldbergs and FOTB will all have for sure at least 22 eps.

I can see Uncle Buck getting 13 episodes even 22 in the end if Dr Ken flops big.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Brandy Danforth18 June 2015 at 19:27

Nashville has 22,it's doing the split season thing too

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think it may be due to scheduling for Kerry. In addition to her HBO TV movie, she has two feature films lined up.

    ReplyDelete
  34. With Scandal I expect 22

    ReplyDelete
  35. How many episodes of HTGAWM & The Catch do you except Scandal to lead into?

    ReplyDelete
  36. One of those Scandal episodes might be a 2 hour episode, making it an official 21 episodes, but 22 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Its procedural-ish as I saw in STV reviews so this is good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think most or it will have GA
    It won't be alone

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why only 21 episodes for Scandal?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Really happy Agent Carter and Galavant have an increase from last year! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm guessing...
Fall: 8 Episodes of Scandal / 8 Episodes of HTGAWM
    Midseason: 7 Episodes of HTGAWM

Spring: 13 Episodes of Scandal / 13 Episodes of The Catch

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm pretty sure that:

    FOTB will get 22 episodes
    Goldbergs will get 24
    MF will get 24
    Dr Ken will have 13.

Not so sure about LMS tho, but I'll guess 20.

Also, Grey's with 25 and Scandal 21? WHAT?!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm guessing it's a scheduling thing. Maybe 8 in the fall and 13 in the spring with The Catch.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My question is asking how are 21 episodes of Scandal going to be paired with 28 episodes of HTGAWM/The Catch.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's not gonna happen but Scandal should go back to being limited.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The Goldbergs and Modern Family will probably get 22 since The Middle and Blackish did. They'll all be expanded to 24 later

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yes! It won't happen but it would help quality

    ReplyDelete
  48. It should be noted that for all the freshman these are just the current orders and that they can be upped, unless some of them are limited and I am unware. I know The Muppets is but I don't think either Blood and Oil or Quantico are.

The 21 episode order for Scandal is damn weird. And they are going crazy with those GA season orders, not that I disapprove though

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes, ABC usualy does the expansions in late fall.

    ReplyDelete
  50. That would leave the second half of How to Get Away with Murder to air by itself. I doubt that happens.

    ReplyDelete
  51. H50 and GA both did 25 this year.

    ReplyDelete
  52. They did 25 this year as well to be fair. I think they need as many hours as they can use since they have so much content to cover at 10 pm (15 Murder + 13 Catch = 28 hours). The strange thing is Scandal not only not being upped but actually being flat out reduced.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Maybe they give it 23 this year since it had 21 the first year and they could probably use the 88 nice rounded for syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Goldbergs got 23 last season and then expanded to 24. MF got 24 from the beggining I think.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You should be happy it was renewed in the first place

    ReplyDelete
  56. Crazy about TV18 June 2015 at 19:48

You Might have the Finale of HTGAWM and Catch both be two hours leading out of Greys. But that still makes it uneven.. IDK how they are going to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think they will increase scandal
But GA basically did 25 this year

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'll take that ten for Agent Carter and thank ABC for renewing it. I doubt I'll ever say that again.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I thought they did 23 for Grey's this year, now I know the double episodes count as the extra 2 it got this year

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah but this year they have an even bigger challenge because they increased the number of 10pm originals even further. They have 28 hours to put there. Even with double finales for the catch and murder, those are still 26 hours. With scandal doing 22, that still leaves 4 hours sans original lead ins at 9, which is what i suspect all the ga hours are for

    ReplyDelete
  61. Also announced recently: the character Lainey on The Goldbergs has been promoted to series regular

    ReplyDelete
  62. All 3 had 22. All 3 (and blackish) were expandes to 24 at the same time in late fall

    ReplyDelete
  63. My guess: double finales for the catch and for murder.

That leaves 24 episodes to air at 10pm. Scandal takes care of 22 of those hours. GA doubles up twice and takes care of the other two. I am missing 1 hour of 8pm though, maybe another halloween special like last season

    ReplyDelete
  64. I dont know why people insist that a double episode schedule is burnoff. Shouldnt abc renewal eliminate that idea? It would be a way bigger burn off if it was asked to air deep into february when the big events are even worse!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh, I was saying that because I saw the pilot just 5 hours and 13 episodes may be too much IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Fourth season of OUaT also had 22 episodes, because s04e08 was counting as 4x08a and 4x08b.

    http://twitter.com/AdamHorowitzLA/status/561992509316800512

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah. But actually this year was only 1 double episode. So it was 24 episodes = 25 hours, much like ouat was 22 episodes = 23 hours

    ReplyDelete
  68. 22 episodes = 23 hours

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yes. 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  70. nice Galavant and Agent Carter get 10

    ReplyDelete
  71. Easily the most interesting network for episode orders next season.
Wicked City confirmed for 10 episodes which I had read elsewhere doing the pilot process.
    Galavant-10 episodes
Agent Carter-10 episodes both seem like smart decisions to have more than 8 episodes but stop at 10 since they are bridge series.
The Family-12 episodes. Had heard rumors of 15 episodes when the show was picked up but I really like doing 12 episodes for season 1. If Joan Allen has a contract that allows for 15 episodes, ABC can do a 15 episode second season if the show is a hit, but 12 episodes lowers the risk if the show does not succeed.
OKAP-confirmed for 10 episodes. Another smart decision from the original 15 episodes, though the show might be better off scrapped entirely.
Secrets and Lies-10 episodes same as season 1 good decision.
American Crime-10 episodes instead of 11 episodes for season 1. The 11 episode order for season 1 was kind of awesome because I dont recall any show doing 11 episodes before. But smart decision to do 10 episodes for season 2.
The Catch-13 episodes. Again if Enos has a contract that allows for 15 episodes, it is still a smart decision for ABC to do 13 episodes for season 1.
Grey's-25 episodes is a ridiculous number to do for any show.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I have a strong feeling that Kerry Washington would love to be doing 13-15 episodes a season.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Nashville without any doubt has a 22 episode order. I'm sure they will announce that later on. Going into it's 4th season and an ABC co-produced show, it wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Viola Davis was on Kimmel the other night and she said that she's returning to film the 2nd season of How to get away with Murder July 15th. She's shooting it simultaneously with Suicide Squad, which films in Toronto. I would expect a big midseason break with cliffhanger so she can keep working on Suicide Squad. That was the main reason why she only agreed to shoot 15 episodes, so she could make features simultaneously.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 10 episodes to me seems like the perfect amount for a bridge series. 8 episodes of a 43 min drama series is somewhat limiting story wise compared to HBO where the writers could do 8 60 minute episodes. 13 episodes though is too long of a potential break for the 22 episode series to be hiatus.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Good very good new, Castle 22 ep. and maybe ABC wil ask for one more as usual, that makes my day, I`m so happy.

    ReplyDelete
  77. 22 episodes for Castle Perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  78. This is my prediction for how they will sync up the episode orders for the TGIT shows:

[Please Note: Not necessarily in this order]
    GA-Scandal-Murder: 12 weeks
    Holiday Special-Scandal-Murder: 1 week
    GA-Murder-Murder: 1 week
    GA-Scandal-The Catch: 9 weeks
    GA-GA-The Catch: 2 weeks
    GA-The Catch-The Catch: 1 week

    Sums per show:
    - GA: 12 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 1 = 25 hours
    - Scandal: 12 + 1 + 9 = 22 hours
    - Murder: 12+1+2 = 15 weeks
    - The Catch: 9+2+2 = 13 weeks

    ReplyDelete
  79. Matthew Chapman18 June 2015 at 21:18

I expect The Middle, Black-ish Scandal and Castle to have their episode counts expanded to 24 episodes (for the comedies) 22 episodes (for Scandal) and 23 Episodes (for Castle) respectively so that they end up with their usual episode counts-25 episodes for Greys! There must be a 2 episode somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I am SO excited!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Deception on NBC a few years ago also had 11 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Your calculations are a little off. 28 hours of the two 10pm shows condenses to 26 weeks with two hour finales for both. So at 9pm Scandal only needed 24 weeks. I would guess either Murder or Catch need a double ep premiere, which would leave a 22 episode requirement for Scandal. Still, the 21 episode order remains odd!

    ReplyDelete
  83. How did you get 22 for scandal

    ReplyDelete
  84. Scandal at 21 seems weird as it's still one of the highest rated ABC dramas. I guess reading the other comments about schedung it makes some sense.

Grey's seems big with 25 but they did it last year as well so they could do it again.

The Family at 12 episodes seems a bit random. Probably has something to do with scheduling as well, though I doubt ABC already has a place for it in mind.

The rest is not much of a surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Scandal lose one episode 21 and GA adds episodes 25. Interesting...

    ReplyDelete
  86. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, maybe Castle, not yet sure. Will try some of the new shows on cable. Will miss Resurrection & Forever.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Gaia Di Lorenzo18 June 2015 at 22:00

thanks God OUAT 22. Too bad we probably won't get specials 2 hours thou gonna miss specials. Yay Aos 22

    ReplyDelete
  88. I am assuming it will be upped or that there is some sort of mistake with the 21 that ABC is claiming right now.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think they are assuming that The Family will land on Sundays, either at 9 or 10 which is a very reasonable assumption, and that it will be launched with Oscars promotion, Resurrection and Secrets and Lies style.

Since the Oscars are February 28th and the Billboard Music Awards are May 15th, that just leaves 10 Sundays in there. Since OUAT itself tends to already require a two hour finale, even 12 sounds much already. 10-11 would probably work better, but 13 would be impossible probably

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think B&O + Quantico will both be either cancelled or both get back 9 order, since both new shows are airing together. I really hope they will both get full season.

    ReplyDelete
  91. And i am really happy to get Wicked City in the fall. Trailer was awesome

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yes I realized it after writing this one. I've published a revised version above. Sorry about that.

Murder has been confirmed to premiere after Scandal and I think they will want the higher rated Scandal to lead into the catch premiere as well. I think as long as Scancal does 22 everything fits.

    ReplyDelete
  93. ABC has a lot to schedule

    ReplyDelete
  94. I guess the problem is if Scandal continues to fall in the ratings, compared to Grey's which has been pretty stable. I watch both and must say I am finding Scandal at a creative low, things haven't seemed very fresh since the kidnapping and auction plot finished up.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Galavant! So awesome that show's back!

Really hope Quantico is a succes.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Your tally here puts GA at 27 episodes because of your two weeks of double GA...

    ReplyDelete
  97. So they must already assume either Blood and Oil or Quantico will fail and not get a back-9 order. As much as I am rooting for both shows, I am sadly afraid it will happen.

I am curious which show will take over Tuesdays at 10 once Wicked City is done.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Matthew Zamora18 June 2015 at 22:40

Wow that's a lot of things... Can't believe Galavant got 10 eps

    ReplyDelete
  99. Aryam Manzueta18 June 2015 at 22:41

They'll manage to make it work... horribly if history tells us anything.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I watch both as well and while I didn't dislike the last third of the season as much as some people did, I do agree that it wasn't as exciting as before. However, I think the season finale provided enough of a shake up for them to completely revitalize the show if they are bold enough to do it. Presidential divorce, Olivia and Fitz finally together, no more B613 (and if I had my way, no more Huck). There is more than enough there to completely go high on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Lol I am really bad with counting today!

    Then this:
    GA-Scandal-Murder: 12 weeks
    Holiday Special-Scandal-Murder: 1 week
    GA-Murder-Murder: 1 week
    GA-Scandal-The Catch: 8 weeks
    GA-GA-The Catch: 2 weeks
    GA-The Catch-The Catch: 1 week

    Tally per show:
    - GA: 12+1+8+4+1=25 episodes
    - Scandal: 12+1+8=21 episodes
    - Murder: 12+1+2=15 episodes
    - The Catch: 8+2+2=12 episodes

This leaves Scandal with the announced 21, although I still find that weird. They could easily not put the random holiday special in here by doing GA-Scandal-Murder that night and then doing one less GA-GA-The Catch in the spring and doing GA-Scandal-The Catch if they do 22 Scandals.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I find their plan so silly. Quantico really belongs on Tuesday, yet they are going backwards not to put it there.

Anyway, back to your points, I think they are indeed assuming so, but that is a resonable assumption to make with two freshman shows premiereing on the same night. I am also strongly rooting for both, especially Quantico, but I think that one is even more likely to be cancelled. I think they will put OKAP on Tuesdays, although it will flop epically. If it was up to me, I would burn it Sundays on the winter after Galavant in double pumps.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I love what you did there

    ReplyDelete
  104. 10 for Galavant - that's pretty sweet.
15 for HTGAWM? Thought it was getting more.

    ReplyDelete
  105. 10 episodes for crime anthologies + filler shows : good strategy here.
i have concerns about the real o'neals : are we sure the muppets will have a limited run ? i hope so cause i don't wanna wait too long to get martha plimpton back on tv.

quantico will be a huge success, back 9 order predicted. blood & oil will probably do well enough to get the back 9 order but i won't be surprised if it switches time slot with quantico at mid-season.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I love Agent Carter but more than 2 months winter break from SHIELD is too much.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I really don't think they need to give Grey's the 25 but ooookay.

I really think it's safe to bet that the Muppets will get a back nine order easily.

Let me say again: I'm really liking that Peggy is getting the 10.
Generally I approve of the approach/strategy of keeping a more round number for the bridge and anthology shows

    ReplyDelete
  108. thanks!! i didn't know. love her character.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Seeing that '10 episodes' for Agent Carter makes me weep with happiness! I'm so pumped for AOS, Agent Carter & HTGAWM

    ReplyDelete
  110. 2 more episodes than last year for Agent Carter and Galavant, yay!!!

    ReplyDelete
  111. A bit OT, but any episode orders for Fox yet (besides Empire and New Girl)?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Douglas from Brazil19 June 2015 at 00:34

    22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes = 23 hours = 22 episodes... = 23 hours = 22 episodes...

    ReplyDelete
  113. The only thing really surprising is Grey's getting 25 episodes. I know its still doing relatively well for its age and the night its on but that's a lot of episodes. ABC sure has a lot of short order series

    ReplyDelete
  114. WHy wouldn't MF get 24?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Full 10 for Agent Carter? Hallelujah!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Oh, I forgot that it came back after the fall finale

    ReplyDelete
  117. Your GA tally adds up to 26, your counting is off tonight! Also, why are you cutting an episode of Catch?

    ReplyDelete
  118. ABC is just a hot mess....

    ReplyDelete
  119. Just to verify. That's 10 30-minute episodes for Galavant, right? Or 10 1-hour episodes?

    ReplyDelete
  120. 30 Minutes, most likely to air over five weeks in 1-hour blocks.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Gaia Di Lorenzo19 June 2015 at 07:54

Yes right! Then we might get two hours eps again :D I will pray for the show to get renewed too. I need OUAT S6 & Shield S4 like air

    ReplyDelete
  122. at the end is just 22 episodes, so...?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Maybe Quantico would have fit in nicely with the Tuesday line-up, but I doubt it would have done great numbers. The timeslot has been a death slot for ABC for years and SHIELD isn't that highly rated anymore. It's not going to do great on Sundays, I agree, but I am not sure Tuesday would have been so much higher.

I am also especially rooting for Quantico. I haven't seen Blood and Oil yet so I'm not sure I will stick with it, but it seems interesting. I think no matter where OKAP ends up, it will flop.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Agent Carter needs more than 10 but am very glad it's coming back for season 2!

    ReplyDelete
  125. I totally agree with you 10 episodes is great but i feel it needs 13-16 episode. Although at least it got picked up for another season.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Yes but Quantico would at least be compatible with Shield, which although low would still provide okay numbers as lead-in. A compatible lead-in goes a long way to help a show at 10pm and there have been cases in which compatibility was enough for the show to grow at 10... See GA-Scandal or SVU-Chicago Fire among others. I was hoping for the same effect. On Sunday, not only is Blood and Oil a big unknown, and one I have a hard time being especially positive about, but I also cannot see them being compatible. The competition is also fiercer in general, with The Talking Dead and SNF taking over the male viewers of the hour.

In addition to this, I feel that even for the network as a whole tha plan makes little sense. They are going to be plugging spackle on Tuesday at 10 the entire season because they have nothing else compatible for the slot while they have more stuff that could fit he Sunday lineup organically (The Family, Secrets and Lies). If best case happens and both Blood and Oil and Quantico work, then The Family will have be thrown after the highly incompatible Shield which makes no sense. If at least one of the Sunday dramas fail, they will have to put The Family there and leave a gap on Tuesday that will be covered either by filler (Beyond the Tank) or by a sure flop (OKAP). It's a loose-loose.

Had it been up to me, this would have been my ABC schedule:
    Fall:
    M: DWTS | Castle
T: The Muppets | FOTB | Quantico or AOS | Quantico or AOS
    W: TM | TG | MF | Blackish | The Family
    T: GA | Scandal | Murder
    F: LMS | Dr. Ken | Shark Tank | 20/20

HTgAWM won't ever do more than 15-Viola & the showrunner don't want it

  128. Totally agree, 10 episodes I think you'd struggle to get a really good storyline going with. Where as 13 I think gives you that extra time to really flesh a story out.

  129. The Middle and Modern Family always get 24, just expanded by two episodes in the fall. Usually the 8:30 and 9:30 showed that actually last a whole season get 22, but the recent entries have done good enough to earn 24 this past season.

  130. Excited for OUAT!

  131. Scandal has 21 hours. And if GA doubles up twice, you are not missing an 8pm hour because it will air 4 eisodes without Scandal.

  132. That doesnt adress what happens with the 10pm though. They need to squeeze 24 originals there and if they do 21 Scandal leadins plus 2 GA lead ins that only accounts for 23 originals leaving one 10pm original lost in there.

  133. Happy that both Agent Carter and Galavant got 10 eps this time round. I hope Galavant doesn't leave us with a cliffhanger again though, that was brutal with S1 as cancellation seemed certain.

    or 23 hours, so...?

  135. Everybody counting and pay attention on episodes, not hours. So at the end is just 22 episodes, so...?

Which could be both 23 hours or 22 hours, so...?

  137. Could be, but they are not. 23 =/= 22. Everybody counting and pay attention on episodes, not hours.

  141. It's good to see that Castle's S 8 with 22 eps. May be it's enough to close out the season.

  142. It's good that Castle will have 22 eps. That could be enough to wrap up the series!
