Update: Creator Adam F. Goldberg has apparently confirmed the renewal on twitter:

Last night on the Daily Show, Jeff Garlin mentioned that he goes back for the production of The Goldbergs in August. Has ABC already renewed the show or was he just mentioning the potential production date if the show is renewed? Watch the video below.

  1. With the ratings that it's had this season, I can't think of a reason why ABC would cancel it.
I wonder if ABC will move it to another night or time though.

  2. It's getting the same ratings as Black-ish with a much weaker lead-in. So Black-ish should be the one to move, not The Goldbergs.

  3. It did pretty well with an MF repeat as a lead-in. Although, the MF repeat was still a pretty good lead-in. ABC might have to take a gamble on this one.

  6. Of course the show is renewed, like OUAT and some many others but ABC wants to annonce it at the last minute.

  8. I'd love it if they aired Fresh Off The Boat after Modern Family because this show has a great potential but I know that's not happening. How many new comedies will be airing in Fall 2015?

  10. Yep, FOtB will not move on Wednesday. I'd say At least 5 or 6. They should place another family comedy on Wednesday at 9.30 to see if it does any better than Black-ish. Maybe Uncle Buck?

  13. I'm getting tired of cast/crew members revealing a renewal with the studio then denying it or not announcing it till May. Just annouce the renewals already!

  18. The New Girl has actually been made official since then.

  19. But the "leaks" are usually of shows certain to be cancelled or renewed.

  20. Not that there was ever any doubt, no? The Goldbergs is one of the highest rated sitcoms on TV aside from the two juggernauts and one of the few shows to build year to year. Frankly, they might as well have renewed it for a 4th season because a 3rd full season pretty much makes a 4th extremely likely. Things would probably need an unprecedented fall apart to not make it to a 4th and even arguably 5th season. BUT I love hearing good news leaked for a change.

  23. This is great news. The Goldbergs has become my favorite family comedy on ABC. Now hopefully Wendi McLendon-Covey will get some recognition come Emmy time. And it will really help this show grow even more.
