    The problem comes in thinking that all these secrets are about evil machinations and such and where it comes to Fury/Coulson, I don't think that's the case. Their paranoia after TWS and the battle of New York heightened by the alien juice is clouding their judgement. As awful as Nick Fury may be, a terrible leader and such, the man does have a habit of seeing five steps ahead of him and is able to act in the best interest of society, he just needs to be reigned in so he doesn't over do it.I'd follow him long before I follow the very short sighted Gonzalez.


    The inhumans and their secrets are a whole unknown at the moment so I can't really say it's all bad. What I do know is they care more for their own people and not the general population which makes them look bad but i don't think they are bad.

    We went from what's in the box to what's in the cargo hold and Gonzalez finally has the tables turned on him. I wonder if he's been using whatever it is that is down there now that he's no longer under Fury's command. Coulson's not even trying to claim SHIELD as his like some spoilt child, he's even strangely acknowledging Gonzalez is him boss after the whole coup by "real" SHIELD. This is why I love the guy.

I wonder if he's also going to take the time to order a new espresso machine for his office while the actual enemy of SHIELD is about to cause some sort of global cataclysm?

    Just wish someone would call 'real shield' on what is essentially their 'butt hurt'. Because that is what a lot of what they are expressing is and turning it on shield and powered people.


    It wouldn't surprise me if Coulson's secret doesn't turn out to be refuges for powered people, to protect them from Hydra, from Shield and considering what May went through in Bahrain, themselves.

    Even though not seen movie yet, it feels like this is setting up Civil War more than simply being tied up with Ultron especially with the real shields stance about powered people (it rather than Mike).


    Because like it or not secrets are the currency of spy organisations and people also have the right to keep secrets if they want to.


    But real Shield, right now feels closer to the Hydra model rather than the Shield one and someone has to be called on it, their secrets are allowed, they follow a committee structure and it is them or us.

    Think that Bobby and Mack are going to have to be forced to rethink what side they are on at some point if Real shield go on double cross Coulson and Skye and Mike after the mission to stop Hydra.

    You know I think Gonzales is mad because he wasn't the new "director" of SHIELD even though he told Coulson that he doesn't wish to be, but still acts like a arrogant "leader" of the "real SHIELD" I hope Nick Fury will step in between Coulson and Gonzales in the last episode and resolve the issue and put Gonzales in his place reminding him how he disobeyed a direct order from Fury himself when he told him to sick the cargo ship, at the same time, he doesn't have any right to form his own SHIELD and call himself a leader. There are HYDRA threats out there and the only thing this son of a bitch is caring about is the secrets about SHIELD that Coulson was entrusted with. Coulson is the real leader because not only he's doing the bigger man things but he's got the balls to step up into the face of the enemy and face them instead of hiding behind a desk in a heli-carrier giving orders like Gonzales is.

    I couldn't have said it better myself.

    I remember a few weeks back after the "real" SHIELD reveal the interweb was debating about what Gonzalez was doing this entire time while Coulson was doing the heavy lifting, taking the fight to hydra and cutting off heads in one fell swoop. There were some people who defended "real" SHIELD saying just because we didn't see it happen didn't mean it didn't happen. And I think we can now lay that debate to rest because we heard Bobbi herself question why they weren't hunting down the remains of the true enemy and shelf the hunt for Coulson for a bit and actually do some work. "real" SHIELD has been so focused on Coulson they forgot Hydra. Honestly I don't want these people looking out for my interest if they prioritise hunting down their own, working for SHIELD, instead of Hydra.

    There's something wrong with "real" SHIELD. They aren't SHIELD, not the way SHIELD is supposed to be anyway. They are nothing more than petty, disgruntled employees that chased out their leader (whom Gonzalez acknowledged when he raided the Playground) because they don't like secret (that they keep themselves) and don't like that he was Fury's heir apparent and has some alien in him..

    Why wouldn't it be? Because it's not flying around? That's more due to the show's budget not affording the pretty CGI required than anything else. The hellicarrier in The Avengers was also stationed on water at first like a normal carrier, remember?

    I'm just speculating. We didn't get a proper look in the flashbacks and the episode Hunter escaped because it was at night. Maybe it is the same one from TA but i'm not convinced it is.

    I have to admit, in the beginning I was one of the people defending Olmost SHIELD - not that I agreed with their actions (there's no excuse for assaulting Coulson's base like that instead of at least TRYING to talk it out civilly), but I thought their motivations, at least, were somewhat understandable from Gonzales and co's PoV.


    In the episodes since, however, it's become clear that Gonzales' course of action is downright inexcusable. If he was doing everything in his power to eradicate Hydra and every other threat to humanity - a.k.a., SHIELD's actual job - while also trying to bring Coulson in because he felt Coulson's leadership of SHIELD was unjust, I'd cut him some slack. But all available evidence points to the fact that Gonzales is sitting on his ass, in a giant ship with a lot more resources than Coulson ever had post the fall of SHIELD, and doing nothing to protect the world. Instead, he's devoting all of those resources to chasing down a guy who even he admits is out to fight the good fight, because he's taken issue with his authority. Absolute bullshit.


    Not only is Gonzales not doing the work that SHIELD is supposed to be doing, but he has the nerve to chase down the guy who actually IS and hinder his efforts. I bet Strucker is planning to send Gonzales a fruit basket, he's making Hydra's life a lot easier.

    I was one of the ones that doubted Gonzalez did anything in the months he was spying on Coulson but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because it is fairly true that just because we don't see something on screen, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And now I don't have to because Bobbie proved my suspicion all along, He's not a real leader. There's a reason why Fury put Coulson in charge and we see it all the time, except for aligning with Ward but that was for *reasons* already stated in other thread. In different conditions I'd even say aligning with a bad person in order to achieve a greater goal, putting aside your own feelings for the greater good is somewhat commendable but I'm not feeling all that generous towards Coulson right now. It may still prove a mistake, look at Fitz.

Especially when Coulson said "Sit down, AGENT Fitz" in response to Fitz trying to attack Ward - that seemed so cold and uncaring, as if he didn't understand exactly how hard it is for Fitz to sit across from the guy who caused his disability. IF Coulson feels it's absolutely necessary to work with Ward, the least he can do is be understanding towards Fitz instead of acting like it's childish of Fitz to have a problem with it.

    The one good thing about this whole crappy situation is, Iain continues to get a chance to truly shine.

    I don't think he didn't feel for Fitz or not understand where he was coming from. But they were on mission mode. It wasn't the time. And the fact the he called him "agent" was to remind him of that.

    No, it doesn't. Look at how it has two decks, an upper angled deck and the lower straight deck. There isn't an aircraft carrier out there that has two decks (that I know of.)

    Coulson does understand but they can't let their emotions get the best of them under the circumstances. He needs to maintain a level of control as cold as that seems to make him. I hate defending Ward in any because Ward deserves what Fitz wanted to do to him and more but I can't be mad at Coulson here.

    I agree. This explains why Coulson even turned to Ward in the first place. He's putting his own feelings for Ward aside in order to find Skye. He doesn't enjoy having Ward there any more than Fitz does, he just has better control of his emotions.

    That said, the Helicarrier we see on the movies is a CGI creation, it'd never fit in the show's budget and/or time constraints, but at the same time it's a big part of SHIELD's mythology, so maybe they're using a real carrier as a stand-in and we're supposed to assume they're the same. Who knows?

    She won't be very happy especially after all the effort she did and will be doing to keep her family together and on good term with the inhuman community but not sure she would do anything extreme. She still looks like a good woman. Still not sure Skye will side with Coulson team. After reading the finale sinopse i got the feeling she could give the chance to her biological family especially if there more hiden truth from when SHIELD got her when she was a baby is revealed.

    Yeah, but since they are setting up the civil war storyline kind of makes sense put Skye on the other side not only because she changed but also because she is finally reunited with her biological family which was her life goal all along. Well, at least for awhile. The season is long and the Captain america civil war only comes out in may 2016 so the end of season 3 until then a lot can happen. I could see the scenario where she first side with the inhumans as a shock factor at the end of season 2 but as season 3 progress she goes back to SHIELD. We know the team will disagree on decisions causing them to slip up and is not like she will become SHIELD director anytime soon. I think this way would a little more interesting than making Skye turn on the inhumans so fast. Most people are expecting her to be on SHIELD side so would nice surprise if she didn't.

    This is what i was thinking. Some kind of terrigen bomb in a smaller scale. She said she was more worried about "who" than "how" when that Ethan guy disappeared. I think she is worried about Hydra and Shield and is starting to think about a solution to not let the inhumans so vulnerable. She suffered by both organization and her face when Skye said she was a Shield agent was not very pleased.

    Well she's been butchered, put back together, her husband became insane, and her daughter was almost killed by "SHIELD". If anything her reaction to make a terrigen bomb is sorta expected. Especially if she thinks that everyone in the Afterlife is worthy of the change. Therefore no one would end up like her or Ethan.

    Not sure i would call her a villain. She will be doing what she thinks is better for her people. As their leader is what she should do. It's not like shield, hydra are treating inhuman nicely, quite the opposite and recently they almost killed her daughter.

    Uhmm, I don'k know. I think the character than is returning to SHIELD will be Kara / Agent 33 and I think Mike is going to die. With Ward I don't think the story is so easy, I think the show is creating a great villain, perhaps one of the comics. That's my theory.

    Why? I don't get the intense personal connection. Let me explain: I understand and agree that Ward has done terrible things and that if Fitz or Simmons were to hit him or try to that would make sense. Its part of the story. Watching how the story unfolds is fun to do and when the good guys prevail its all the more satisfying. That's the way its supposed to be.


    What I don't understand are how some viewers and those commenting here are personally responding to it. "I want...punching Ward in the face"..."I hope he gets the crap kicked out of him"..etc....I just don't get it, personally. Help me understand.

    There are some of us around, but yes the shippers are more than happy to handwave the bodies out of sight, just to go "Ward!". I mean the amount of "hope Lincoln dies" for no reason other than being a potential love interest is sad.

    Ward and the Other Shield is really dragging the 2B for me, the Bus can't fly because NATO will see it, but a full up CVN get's missed? Man Talbot must really suck at his job!

    Man what's the point in having an aircraft carrier with Quinnjets that don't actually do anything. I'm sure we'll get a nice BS "we don't trust you/you're saving gifted, so we aren't going to lift a bloody finger" frm Gonzales. And why is 33 sitting it out as well? We know she's got combat skills, she's got a crush at the least on Ward...?
    It's these plot armour/plot holes that are killing 2B for me.

    I personally haven't seen too many (if any) comments from people directly hoping for Lincoln to die. I might be wrong, and you're right it doesn't make sense. Lincoln hasn't really done anything to merit anybody actively wanting his character to die. I'm neither here nor there with regards to him. He's more of a plot device to keep Skye emotionally invested in the InHumans group.


    As for the writers giving Ward a free pass, I don't really see that. I see what appears to be a steady progression in his story. He hasn't been forgiven, he hasn't been "welcomed" back to the team, those that were closest to him still despise him and have openly shown disdain and contempt for him. I don't see a free pass in any of this. Many people have commented that they believe the writers are about to put him back with the team full time but I haven't seen ANY indication of this happening.


    Sorry, I hear what you're saying but I just don't see that we're about to see a forgive and forget scenario with regards to Ward.

    If this was last season, that would've been my guess, but her character has definitely taken a darker turn. She's still sweet old Simmons on the whole, but there are moments when you can see a colder, more jaded person in her.

    Indeed, her best friend Fitz got brain damaged and her other great friend Tripp got killed by alien tech, she's definitely not taking it well. Could be just me, but I get the feeling this buildup on Simmons will climax on this episode with her accidentally killing whoever is going to die (money's on Mike Peterson, doesn't seem like the show has much of use for him anymore now that the Centipede soldiers story is done) while trying to off Ward.

    Yeah, it sucks as it'd be yet another black guy to be on the chopping block, and one the audience cares about, but the fact is, he's a permanent loose end. His arc came to a close last season's finale with Garrett's death, but so long as he's still out there there'll always be fans asking "why don't they call Deathlok?" for every tough situation they don't agree with the team's choices. The fact that he's not listed in the guest list for "Scars" doesn't help his case either.


    As for Simmons being his killer, there's not many things that can kill Deathlok. He scoffs at bulletts, punches, kicks and survived an explosion before, but I'm pretty sure he isn't splinter bomb proof, and Simmons is holding one in the episode poster.

    I'm sure there is but but ultimately its inconsequential. Lincoln from a plot perspective is really only there to romance Skye. There's really nothing more that he's meant to do. That's his purpose from a story writing perspective, like Gordon is really only there to teleport people in an out of situations. He may as well be the nameless transporter tech on Star Trek.

Really, thousands of agents on the carrier, dozen's of Quinnjet's but it's just the bus going? Even more so when you factor in they didn't know Skye was joining the mission, so this select team is Coulson, May, a still recovering Fitz, Jemma and Ward.

    Yeah Shield is really invested in fighting Hydra...

    Lincoln, Raina, Jiaying, Cal and Gordon are all accounted for in the promo pics for 2x20, yeah. Weaver, Kara and Mack are in the press releases for the finale, but that could be misdirection. Can't be Bobbi or Hunter as they're headed to the spin-off. Obviously not Skye.


    Gonzales and Mike seem like the most likely candidates, then... but OMG, if they kill May, Fitz or Simmons for some kind of shock factor while Ward continues to roam around, I'm going after Whedon and Tancharoen with a VENGEANCE.

    IDK, Maybe Olmost Shield decides to trust them after Coulson shows them stuff inside the toolbox.
    As for Bobbi, Mack and Hunter staying behind, maybe they want to keep some of their assets in reserve. They shouldn't send everyone in. This team has worked together before, where as Bobbi, Mack and Hunter have worked together before.
    I'm probably waaaay off though.

    From my read of what we know, it's on mission that she makes the attempt so don't see it being Gonzales (if Bobbi isn't going on the strike, a guy with a cane won't be).

    Like you if Ward survives and it's one of the other's of the team, I'm going to actually going F'ing nuts! They can't be that much of Ward shippers, can they?

    Unless for some plot point Bobbi's flying that and stays on the bus to keep it flying while the rest of the team transfer to the jet and go in that way?

    Still doesn't explain why Shield hasn't sent anything else, and really considering how much is unknown of the base I don't see why they don't at least plan for back up.

    Not too mention, the Bus isn't designed for surgical strike, that's the job of a Quinnjet.
