  1. Well, I don´t like it. At least it´s not a month, just a week.

  2. What? Why?
Ohhhhh CW you are pissing me off. How long do I have to wait for this show.

I have to say when I read the title I was afraid they would push it back for summer so this is still okay.

  3. I really wish Messengers was getting iZombie's time slot. :(

    ReplyDelete
  4. Oh thank god it's only been pushed by one week. I was worried it was going to be longer than that.

    ReplyDelete
  5. well goodbye The Messengers you were never even given a chance

    ReplyDelete
  6. When I saw the title, I thought they moved it to summer.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I wish it had at least gotten the post-Arrow slot.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Same here. But seems like CW has more faith in iZombie. Hoping for TM yo pull off a surprise

    ReplyDelete
  9. That's what I thought too, and was like nnnooooooooooo. Haha. I have a higher number than usual of mid-season replacements that I'm eager to see this year, it's a bit stressful between unscheduled premieres, things getting pushed and the fact that traditionally mid-season shows have a worse chance at living than their winter counterparts.

    Le sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  10. ...it moved one week.

  11. I'm sure iZombie is great, Rob T is a great writer and it looks entertaining. But chances are this is a business decision and more than likely due to the fact that Walking Dead is somehow the number 1 show on TV. Even though they're obviously not comparable they are probably thinking "Zombies! It could be our biggest hit ever!"... Which, if it works, good for them, I guess.

  12. I know, I have a lot midseason entrants this year as well. The issue is they are already on a chopping block. And with the poor promotion TM is getting angry looking at it's future.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Same. I'm still angry at the CW for dumping the show on the Friday night death slot.

    ReplyDelete
  14. April 10 was already a very late premiere date.

    ReplyDelete
  15. TWD seems quite dark, I don't watch it. I think iZombie will do fine and get a 2nd season but also think it would do well without Flash as a lead in.

    ReplyDelete
  16. This show will be DOA just like Cult was.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I honestly think it would have a better chance as a summer show on a weekday than like this!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I believe it would have been better for the show to be launched as a summer show on a weekday than like this. I also thought that when I saw the title and was actually happy with the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Quite possible! The show just looks so promising to me and I don't know where is CW's issue with it. I really hope it pulls of a miracle and does well ratings wise.

    ReplyDelete
  20. - Guys, what else can we do to make it fail?
    - We still haven't messed with premiere date. People won't watch it if they don't know when it airs.

    ReplyDelete
  21. yeah, looks like it. With theCWs recent renewal craze I doubt that another renewal is in the cards anyway

    ReplyDelete
  22. iZombie is pretty good! the pilot isn't very good (but what pilot is? lol) but the following 2 episodes are much better

    ReplyDelete
  23. I still don't know if I'll check out this show or not. At first I was holding off since I thought it would be competing with The 100, when that got renewed it was the timeslot was putting me off. I know most people think it will be DOA but I was hoping it would be renewed and pair up with The 100 on Fridays next season with The Messengers at 8 and The 100 at 9.
I was kind of annoyed they gave iZombie such a good slot, it's the show I have zero interest in.

    ReplyDelete
  24. CW's renewal craze has surprisingly good timing. The network has only ordered 4 pilots this year. 2 of those pilots are off-brand, 1 is an anthology series (which usually bomb), and the other is Cheerleader Death Squad.

    ReplyDelete
  25. C'mon CW. Quit giving izombie all the love. It's a zombie comic book show, it ticks all the boxes. Let's push The Messengers please, I've had enough zombies and comic book shows. Let's have something different yeah?

    ReplyDelete
  26. The show seems quite interesting but seems like CW doesn't think it fits their network or something or aren't happy with the direction this story is going.
I mean just the amount of promotion iZombie is getting compared to what TM is getting is just silly. Barely anyone wrote on TM during the TCA's and barely any promos are surfacing.
But I hope the show will somehow find a solid viewership and kick CW's ass for not believing in it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. shouldn't it have been with Supernatural? it makes more sense

    ReplyDelete
  28. it doesn't help that they keep messing with it even if it's a week later, first they dump it on the Friday Death Slot and now thEy push it back. Not exactly GOOD OMEN

    ReplyDelete
  29. damn nooooooooo

    ReplyDelete
  30. Supernatural hasn't anchored a night for years, plus there isn't a 8PM slot empty for that.

    ReplyDelete
  31. When I first saw the title I thought it was moving summer - which, as much as I want to see this show, would've made me happier than this. I think the show would've had a better chance on Tues/Wed in summer than Fridays in April (the 10th or the 17th).

    ReplyDelete
  32. If the network had any confidence in this show's success it would have given this show a better promotional push, a better time slot, and a better premiere date. I think the way The CW has handled this series tells you everything about what it expects from The Messengers.

There's nothing wrong with going for something different and they certainly did that this season with Jane the Virgin.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've seen the pilot and it's not very good. Kind of like a CW-ized FlashForward. Very scattered, very silly, too many characters to keep up with. No matter where it would've been put on the schedule, it would've turned into a sinkhole.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, screw you too, The CW!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Same here. But the CW was right before in dumping Cult so I am not sure if they will be wrong here. I am still looking forward to it though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hoping for a good season and a 2nd season during summer next year.
But honestly I would just want for it to be huge on Fridays and bite CW in their as* for threating it this way.
But doubt this will happen cause CW isn't giving it any love, no promos, no interviews, no posters, nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't understand why they are moving the shows to play repeats of Whose Line Is It Anyway and Jane the Virgin? The only thing I noticed is the week of April 13 is a full week of original episodes for all CW shows whereas the week before is repeats. Maybe something to do with it? No idea otherwise!

    Change Reign with The messenger

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why?So Scandal and other tough Thurs night completion can kill it?So dying VD can NOT help it as a leadin? So VD can launch another non hit show? It's spring. And wont Likley get great ratings no matter where it LANs due to usual spring ratings decline.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Where do you see they're airing WL & Jane repeats on the 10?They shoukdve just aired HoD all the way thorough with no breaks and premired Messengers2-3 weeks earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  41. They really haven't had a new scripted show premiering on a Friday since the inception of the CW and their track-record for that particular night have been mixed at best: a failed hour-long comedy block (The Game-Everybody Hates Chris), endless ANTM encores, several seasons of sci-fi/fantasy shows (Smallville-Supernatural-Nikita), odd-pairings (HoD, Whose Line and Masters of Illusion) and an actual Friday burn-off (Cult).

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have been very lucky that Fresh off the Boat didn't tank, that was one of my most anticipated comedies of the entire season. And then The Whispers looks fantastic, The CW has iZombie and The Messengers, only one of which is likely to survive... Interested in Last Man on Earth, Secrets and Lies, Battle Creek looks worth a sample, Wayward Pines... Of all of these I feel the two that I'm most likely to geek out about are the ones most likely to be canceled in May: The Whispers and The Messengers. :(

I hope TM somehow is the top-rated Friday program ever on The CW... ha.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow!I just wonder how BAD was the pilot. It can't be that bad, right?!?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Networks mistreating a show aren't necessarily an indication of the quality of the show. Sometimes a network just doesn't like a show all of a sudden. (Wonderfalls and Firefly, for instance.)

    ReplyDelete
  45. " - Do you sometime feel hopeless?
    - Hopeless?
-Yeah. About a present or the future."

I am feeling hopeless right now. Thank you CW for that.

I saw some people on the facebook page mention theirs a big Yankee's vs Red Sox game on April 10 which was why it was moved. Anyone in America can confirm if its really that big a thing?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not every new show can great timeslot/leadin,lots of promotion ect-it's just the way it is.Though I do get Messengers is a sacrificial show like Star-Crossed last year

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes. Those two are some of the most well-known baseball teams around. If majority of the CW affiliates are preempting regular programming for this particular game (or some of the affiliates in bigger markets), then pushing the Friday shows a week later is justified.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Idk, maybe CW was expecting a baseball preemption in a big market that day and that's why they moved it?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Christopher DeBono24 February 2015 at 23:09

According to a comment on the facebook page, most the east coast would have pre-empted programming for it which probably explains why it was moved then.

  51. Christopher DeBono24 February 2015 at 23:11

I believe they have 1 more renewal left in them for iZombie. Unless it outright flops, the CW is playing favorites with it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree on the last part. They have bad luck, that's all i can say at this point!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Which honestly I think it might have been preferable in giving the show a decent chance. Oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  54. I know it's only a week, but I don't think it's a good sign, unless there is a good reason for the push back...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well at least that's an explanation, and shows intention from TPTB to give the show a fair chance...

    ReplyDelete
  56. there's never a good sign for a show to be pushed back

    ReplyDelete
  57. I agree and as it turns out @Christopher DeBono was correct. There is a Yankees vs Red Sox game scheduled for 10 April 2015 which would have aired during The Messengers time slot on many CW affiliates. At least the reasoning behind the decision to move it is both understandable and good for TM

    ReplyDelete
  58. I didn´t know that, so it´s all good then :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. The Messengers seems really promising for The CW but it's dead on arrival dumping it on a Friday death slot...
