Help us get rid of the Auto Playing Audio Ads

Hey All,

It seems that some pesky Auto-playing audio ads are getting into the system. No ads on the site should auto play ANY audio unless you ask them to. We have no direct control over the ads unfortunately but we can help find out which ones they are and get them removed from our Ad supplier.

In order to do this, when you come across an advertisement that plays the audio automatically, please use the form below to alert us and help us get rid of them.

Simply let us know which country you are from, what browser you are using and a screenshot of the offending ad. You can upload your screenshot to a free hosting provider like imgur.com and then paste the link to the image in the form below.

Hopefully with all your help we can rid the system of these rogue ads.

    Guys, can you please get rid of some of the widget on this site like Follow & Share thing at the bottom page and Also in SpoilerTV (because you already have You Might Also Like widget) and so on? The site too heavy (guessing here) because it will take some time before this site completely load all what-the-page-want-to-show before I can read the contents.

    Hi @Rayyan What Follow and Share thing at the bottom of the site? I'm not seeing that.

    The only share ones we have that I know of are the Addthis share items on far left of the site.

    The ALSO on SpoilerTV is part of the disqus comments system which we have no control over.

    Hm, weird. I've never had any sort of auto-playing audio happen to me on this site. I hope that problem can be fixed for those who have it, because I know it can be super annoying.

    It seems to go in spurts for me (USA-Chrome). The last week I have had a lot of them but before that, it was maybe one or two here and there - or maybe it just seems like it because I'm on the site more now? At any rate, I'll start keeping track now :-)

    Thanks very much @Emma That's pretty much been my experience. Happens quite rarely but very annoying when it does lol. And yep, I've noticed that seems to be the "problem" area as well

    I got to the point where i was fed up with dealing with the advertisements not just before the promos but after the promos.Now,i leave the volume muted and when i want to hear a promo i un-mute the button.Kills two birds with one stone...

    like two weeks ago every video i played displayed the Agent Carter promo. Then it stop a few days later there was another but then it stop again. I use chrome i dont know if that has anything to do with the add display.

    It was very bad for the last two weeks, but I think it's died down in the last three days.

    Unfortunately not :) It simply would not generate enough I'm afraid and we have no way to technically to handle the donations and then hide the ads for individual people.

    I spend over $4500 of my own money each year keeping the site running so would need to get at least double that each year :)

    Just to clarify, are you talking about the adds that play before the sneak peek/trailer videos or the adds that display in the column to the right of the article/comments?

    Oh, please. I've been getting A LOT of these over the past two weeks (USA-Chrome). It wouldn't be so bad if they had a pause or mute button on them, but nope -- can't get them to shut up! Guess it's time to start paying attention to who the ads are coming from.

    BTW your page works better on Chrome than Firefox. Don't know why, but Firefox had been disapointing me anyway lately.

    Yep, firefox has become slow and bloated for me. I rarely use it anymore, only for testing. I use Chrome 99% of the time.

    Chrome is by far the most popular browser of people using SpoilerTV :)

    Just for good measure, I think we should compile which advertisers are the culprits in this matter:

    Off the top of my head, Iams, and Xfinity.

    It just happened to me and I filled out the form but it confuses me because the only ad I saw on the site didn't match the audio I heard. The ad I saw on the site was Saks Fifth Avenue but the audio I heard was about Greenies for dogs and then later I heard Iams (sp?) dog food. But I didn't see those ads on the page anywhere. Weird.

    Same experience as Tonya... I was just perusing a page a few minutes ago and heard the Iams audio, (heard the Greenies yesterday) and the ads that I saw on the page weren't of those products... or maybe I'm not that observant... lol I'll try to keep an eye/ear out

    Glad I wasn't the only one. Sometimes you think you're crazy. But I also just saw the actual Greenies ad and sent it in, too. So maybe I did miss it the first time as well. Who knows!

    ha it seems to be working somehow. I got an auto audio playing ad that starts but as soon as I scroll to it it stops/has loading probs.

    I am getting the ad now everytime I open a new tab and after a pause it starts again. Unfortunatly the screen shots of the final frame (were the advertiser is names are s hown) is always black It is definitly an ad that was shot for German speakers. The moderator speaks German and it is clearly not dubbed.

    I've had a couple of audio ads pop up today, but I can't send in the proper form, because I can't screenshot the ad as it just seems to be audio.
    And I can't really tell what it's about either.

    I live in Canada and suddenly some french audio just starts blaring. I think it miiiiiiight be a political ad, but I'm not 100% sure.

    Aaaaaaaand the rogue audio ads are back...

    I've sent in a couple of forms, but I haven't had time to screencap the ad, or they are again JUST audio...
