The Hobbit actor will join NBC’s Hannibal in Season 3 in the terrifying role of Francis Dolarhyde (aka The Tooth Fairy). The main villian of Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, one book in the series on which Hannibal is based, the hulking Dolarhyde is a serial killer with a set of chompers that would make the Big Bad Wolf a little envious. He is set to appear in 6 episodes.

  2. Poor Richard, he seems to get villain roles a lot.

  3. Woah, this show always has the best casting! I'm impressed. Loved Richard in The Hobbit! And with a name like The Tooth Fairy, I can already tell I'll be majorly terrified of him.

  6. I need him to have a decent American accent and to bulk up, otherwise I'm happy with the casting, he's a great actor.

  11. Well I wouldn't say they were friends though, there was always a rivalry between them. They kinda just tolerated each other.

  14. He definitely has the presence and menace down to play a villain like this. This should be good.

  21. I only saw him on S1 of Strike Back till he was killed in S2 of the show lol. Now if only Andrew Lincoln guest starred then it be a Strike Back reunion but it won't happen since Andrew is committed to TWD
