  1. Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, iZombie, Jane the Virgin, Reign

  2. I think and hope for Beauty and the Beast, then I think Hart of Dixie and Jane the Virgin. I don´t want them to cancel anything else :D

    ReplyDelete
  3. For my poor heart, take The 100 out of this list.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Dixie for sure.
    Maybe Reign and The Originals.

TVD - I'm hoping. I want it to end this year, which is highly unlikely.

Don't get me wrong, i like of of those four shows. TVD has gotten really boring. Both Reign and The Originals are in their 2nd seasons, so giving them a third season would mean a fourth season as well (syndication)
    Dixie is 99% confirmed.

    BATB, JTV, iZombie & HOD.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I wouldn't mind BatB getting cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  7. I would like to say BatB but after last year, I just can't pick it anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Jane the Virgin, Hart of Dixie, IZombie I think will get cancelled Reign and Beauty and the Beast might as well.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I didnt answer truthfully, because I'm in denial that the 100 has a chance of getting cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Beauty and The Beast, Hart of Dixie, Jane The Virgin.
And it might cancel : The 100 and Reign ( I hope not, there are my favorite on this network )
And please, give The Messengers a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think one of the new shows between iZombie and The Messengers might be cancelled - although I hope not ... they look good so far.
Jane the Virgin may def get cancelled, a pity really, it's enjoyable.
BatB might finally get cancelled, but I'm not sure and it seems as though it is the final season for Hart of Dixie ...
Other than that it's a toss up between Reign and The 100 ... and I hope The 100 makes it through.

I'm starting to think that CW should start bidding goodbye to the vampire shows ... as much as I've been a fan of both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals - one has to admit that they are getting tiresome and newer shows are far more interesting and deserving of the slots!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Reign, BATB, JtV, HoD (should just announce season 4 as final season) and either one of the 2 new midseason shows.

Oh, and I had a dream last night that CW renewed Supernatural for 12th and final season.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think they will cancel 4 shows again, so :

    BatB + HoD + JtV

    +

    The Messengers/iZombie/The 100/Reign

    ReplyDelete
  14. Beauty and the Beast & Hart of Dixie (I wish)

    ReplyDelete
  15. BATB, HOD, The 100, Reign or iZombie

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think they will cancel at least 3 shows among BATB, HOD, Reign, Jane The Virgin, The 100.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Since I'm still shaking my head at their BaTB renewal from last season, I don't trust them to do the right thing. So I'll say the shows that SHOULD be canceled are: BaTB and HoD. The rest depends on mid-season performances.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Beauty and The Beast love the show but having been good in rating
    Hart of Dixie same reason
Supernatural because to me been on too long
Vampire Diaries because to me lost it's appeal doesn't have it's wow moments like that anymore and because I hate that Bonnie always put everyone first before her own needs

I believe Jane The Virgin and The Flash will survive because they are breath of fresh air others new two shows I have to see before I know which one will get cancel

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jane, HoD, iZombie, and then whichever out of The 100/The Messengers is doing worse, probably The 100. Reign and BATB get saved bc of syndication. Everything else is doing ok for the CW and gets renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The 100 will have 29 episodes by the end of its second season so I don't think they'll renew it because of syndication. If it gets renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry, I'm confused. I don't think they'll renew The 100 either, I'm saying I think it'll probably be cancelled. Or were you agreeing with me?

    ReplyDelete
  22. BaTB, Hart of Dixie, Jane the Virgin, Reign, The 100

    ReplyDelete
  23. Not Reign, please. The previous episode was one of the best so far. I want the show to continue.
BATB, Hart of Dixie, IZombie, Jane the Virgin, and I'm not even sure about The Messengers.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The problem with CW is that it is the only network where ratings are not the only reason to cancel a show. Mr Pedowitz explained that BatB got renewed because of the online streaming and hughe social network activity. So is this gonna change this year ! I don't see them cancel Jane because they finally have a highly critical acclaimed show -even if the ratings are 0 4- they are so proud to get rid of the "teeny scifi show network with handsome actors but bad acting" image. But I guess HoD will get cancelled as some actors already moved on to other projects and tweeted their goodbyes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh so sorry. I thought "The 100" was included in the "get saved because of syndication" my bad.. I should've read your comment twice before writing anything!
Now that I've understood your comment ; yes, I agree with you on that. + The 100 is expensive so...

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not so silently judging those 10 who voted for The Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Exactly my guesses. Or it might be more wishful thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hopefully Beaut and The Beast. But i think Regin and Hart of Dixie can fall before that.

I hope iZbombie ends up being good and if so good in the ratings. The Flash will stick for sure. Jane the Virigin is a good show, and deservere as spot.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Superheroes are definitely taking over vampires.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hart of Dixie, The Messengers, The 100, and Jane the Virgin.
Everything is pointing to Hart of Dixie being done. The Messengers is a mess (I've read the script and a friend of mine has seen the pilot) that I can't see a mass audience going for. The 100 is low man on the WB totem pole, so it's gone bar horrible development or iZombie being DOA. Jane the Virgin is at a 0.4 less than 10 episodes into its run, meaning that it should drop to un-renewable numbers between now and spring.
I think BATB has such an advantageous financial arrangement (and international presence) that it'll be saved, especially since The CW made a big stink about renewing it for season three. I picked iZombie as the midseason show that they'll renew due to Rob Thomas + likely getting a good time slot come January. Reign is the CBS show with the most banked episodes, so it'll get a renewal; I could see season three being shortened, though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's up to 12 now!

    ReplyDelete
  32. hmmm and let heads roll.
Realistic: HoD, JtV, Reign, The100, Reign and most likely BatB( but this bitch is hard to kill)
My wish: HoD, JtV and BatB

    ReplyDelete
  33. Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, Reign, Jane the Virgin and iZombie. Maybe it's more wishful thinking though. I hope The 100 is renewed, but I'm still optimistic about its future. It might rise to a 0.6 in a couple of weeks. I'll be so extremely pissed if we get another TTP/BatB situation this year.

There is also a possibility that The Vampire Diaries will be canceled (or announced as a final season), because it seems one of the three leads doesn't want to continue. And even though I don't watch the show, I can't see it going on without the core trio.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wait Reign really is part of CBS? Then why is it airing on The CW?

    ReplyDelete
  35. because CW is a joint venture between CBS and WB.

    ReplyDelete
  36. How long do you see this alleged "advantageous financial arrangement" and international presence "saving" this show? Especially over other shows that are making them money here and now, in the US and Canada? Some getting critical acclaim, some with large fanbases, some with their own international presence, some just very good TV shows etc...

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think Beauty and The Beast, Reign, Jane the Virgin and iZombie.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Renewed: Arrow, TVD, SPN (though I wish it would end already..), and The Flash
    Probably renewed: The Originals
On the fence: Reign and The 100. I prefer The 100 to Reign and hope to see The 100 renewed, but The 100 has the better lead-in and I think the CW are taking this into consideration. Also, if the CW
decide to renew any CBS show Reign has the highest chances of getting renewed from the CBS productions.
    Cancelled: B&tB, HoD, Jane
Too early to tell because they have yet to be premiered: The Messengers and iZombie.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Super hard to say with the CW

HOD-it would only need 12 more episodes to get it to 88 yes it can be syndicated with less but there is no reason to assume that it wont be renewed for a final short season esp since this coming season is not being marketed as the last and the cast and crew have given no indication that it wont be back. 60%

Beauty and the Beast-no clue, it will still be a season and a half of the magical 88 with the worst ratings on network tv but talk of international deals and the fact that its renewal this time round made no sense makes me unsure what will happen. 30%

SPN-ratings still warrant renewal even if quality doesn't. Cast are still up for it so I dont see this one being cancelled this season but the jury is still out as to whether season 11 will be announced as the last. I guess it comes down to Jared and Jensen. 100%

TVD-this wont be the last season, its still one of the nets top earners even with its ratings decline. Again whether next season will be the last comes down to the 3 main cast members. 100%

TO-the ratings decline should be something to worry about but its hard to say whether thats down to the show or the day it airs. At the end of the season it will have 44 episodes, half way to syndication with ok ratings. I see this one going for a full 4 seasons. 100%

    The Flash-100% chance of renewal

Arrow-could drop drastically between now and the end of the season and still be renewed for a 4th season. I see this one around for a long time yet 100%

Reign-ratings arent great but its on a par with T100 which has fewer episodes and this is a CBS production which gives it a huge advantage over the other shows with similar ratings. At the moment I'm giving it a 70% chance of renewal

T100-ratings not great, fewer episodes than Reign at the end of season 2 but has proved it can do well late spring/summer. Could depend on how the 2 mid season shows do. My personal view is that they should renew it and air it late spring/summer like season 1. At the moment I'd give it a 50% chance of renewal

JTV-ratings dont warrant a renewal, unless its bringing in masses of previously untapped latino viewers for the CW then I dont see this one being renewed at all. 20% chance of renewal.

The Messengers and iZombie-if these two are even half decent shows than a bit of decent scheduling could see one or both coming back. At the moment I'd give both a 50% chance of renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  40. If they were gonna get HoD to syndication they'd have given it a full season this year.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Beauty first, then HoD, Reign, I am enjoying Jane and never thought I would say that, but it is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd pay money for The Originals to get cancelled. That show is the worst on the network.
I'm gonna pray for Reign. It's getting better.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I would like to meet those 15 people who voted for The Flash or those 11 people who voted for Arrow lmao.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Maybe they thought this poll was for which show is getting renewed instead of cancelled, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I m betting my money on JTV and most likely hod. Batb hasn't aired yet so I m not sure what they r doing.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Am I the only one who really misses the @CancellationBear account? There was much hilarity in the threads whenever cancellations happened or were predicted to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You may have had a prohetical dream :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. Reign will only have 44 episodes, 44 episodes away from syndication. Also it's heavily serialized, barely got a shot at syndication at that. (TVD still hasn't found a syndication partner because of the same issue).
BatB looks better with 56 episodes then but still a LONG shot

    ReplyDelete
  49. not a huge fan of the show myself (moderate fits better) but considering that show for cancelation is pretty odd. I don't think that it will last 7 or 6 years (for that the drops are too huge lately, it's actually close to CW average soon) but it's the only show I'm 100% sure could pull a 2 season renewal on theCW

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not true.Nikta will be syndicated on Pivot in Jan.Several shows have been syndicated with less than 88 episodes-Reaper,Veronica Mars,Til Death,Flashpoint,Leverage,The Unit to name a few.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think Hart of Dixie... If The 100 gets cancelled I'm going to be so sad!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hart of Dixie, Jane the Virgin and either The Messengers or iZombie, whichever fails the most. BatB and Reign depend on how many CBS-owned pilots are picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would say the same only reversed, Reign is the worst while Originals is getting better

    ReplyDelete
  54. If it gets syndicated after this 13 ep season (I don't follow HoD so don't know if this is the case) then there is still no point renewing it further.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You should look up the "Unrealistic Expectations" club down the hall right next to "Macs pessimistic corner"

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think he only shows up when actual cancellations are made :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. That is all 3 of the CBS show. Not going to happen unless CBS pulls out of the deal altogether, which would be a contract violation I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  58. or renewed (Messengers and JtV are CBS owned property). I do think that theCW will heavily pilot CBS owned programs this pilot season though, as much as I hate to say it but they're heavily working to keep CBS satisfyed, Warner really doesen't want to let go of the joint venture

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm gonna say HoD,BatB,Jane,The 100& one or both of the Midseason shows. This will leave enough room on the schedule for four to five new shows as usual and they'll cancel the usual four to five shows.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Could they not just bring 3 more CBS shows through?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Not unlikely though, CBS could still have a huge pile of pilots. IMO I don't see another season of BatB and Reign. The one is falling while the other is just a way too pricey investment (also for CBS, I'd actually say that CBS pulls the plug on that show before theCW can)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I don't think they would risk it. I'd say at least one stays and they pick up 2 new ones.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Certainly leaving: BatB and HoD, both were given limited episode renewals wich points heavily to a final season treatment for both.

Not sure about being canned but likely: Jane the Virgin and Reign. Both perform equally bad, with one being new but in a terrible timeslot and the other being sophomore but in a solid timeslot. Also The 100, a critical darling but incredibly weak given the lead in, not lead in dependant and performing badly? Not a good combo at all. Arrow and 100 should benefit each other, they don't though

Not sure about the axe but likely to return: The Originals, on the one hand it's dropping. On the other it's cheap to produce due to being produced right next to TVD and being able to draw crewmembers and sets from there and the expectations for that timeslot were low to begin with

Sure about being renewed: Arrow, SPN, Flash, TVD

not going to comment about iZombie or Messengers, I don't think that Rob Thomas producing iZombie is benefiting it though. Veronica Mars had quite the popularity hype this year, theCW probably wants him back for a VM project

    ReplyDelete
  64. In which case, I guess (or at least I hope) Reign or JtV stays.

    ReplyDelete
  65. CBS pilots have notoriously failed which is why I don't see them putting all their eggs in one basket. BatB getting renewed last season makes me iffy on predicting its demise when they clearly use it as schedule spackle. It cuts down on reruns and is placed only in trouble spots so I could see it being renewed for short seasons for a couple more years, even if it does make the network a laughing stock.

Reign depends on history and what backend they think they can get for it. My guess is that they are getting a pretty penny for it on Netflix and there may be more behind the scene deals. However the strongest factor in Reign's favor is that the CW simply does not cancel sophomore shows as a general rule. They did cancel Carrie Diaries after 2 seasons but both were short and ended up having only 26 episodes altogether, so basically 1 season. Before that only Life Unexplained (again only 26 episodes) and Reaper (31 episodes) were cancelled in season 2. Reign would be the first scripted show in the network's history to be cancelled after 2 full seasons. I just do not see that happening.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It is hart to choose from shows which have not aired yet. I would like to see renewed Arrow, The 100, TVD and The Originals, all the other shows I don't care about, but SN and The Flash will be renewed - that is for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  67. If The Messengers is a winner, then all bets are off but if it is a middling to woeful player then I think both Reign and BatB are safe. Reign for sure. Jane the Virgin is the most likely to be tossed at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  68. What did they cancel last year, the year before that, and the year before that again ?
    ( 2013/2014, 2012/2013, and 2011/2012 seasons )

    ReplyDelete
  69. History says no about cancelling Reign. The CW tends to have a 2 and renew policy the way other networks have the syndcation gods save 3 season shows.

    ReplyDelete
  70. BatB - more like because it's schedule spackle and CBS owned but neither of those things change for next year either.

I am surprised that Jane the Virgin is still getting good reviews. I'm not sure how much that will factor into scheduling though since it is somewhat unprecedented on the CW. The last time a low rated show got good overall reviews that I can remember was Life Unexpected.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I also would like to see The 100 renewed, I think it depends on how the new shows are doing, and what the CW's plans are for Wednesdays. The 100 is an awesome show but hard to combine with any other CW show. It will die on a Friday or Monday, the only other pairing
other than Arrow could be SN but I don't think they move The Flash from Tuesday.

    ReplyDelete
  72. As always, these polls are usually more what people wish for instead of what they think will really happen. The Flash is not going anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The CW has never cancelled a show with 2 full seasons and I don't expect them to start now. I don't watch Reign or BATB so IDC one way or the other, but my bet is they both get renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  74. No, no. I seem to remember reading a post saying that he/she/it had been banned because of complaints made against him/her/it. I was quite surprised and a but sad. That account was hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Which of the new shows will replace the 100 on Wednesday?

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'd add the ones who voted SPN and TVD as well, not going to happen people next season maybe but not at the end of this current one.

    ReplyDelete
  77. just dont watch the one you dont like instead of wishing it to get cancelled.

I'd put money on TO going a full 4 seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  78. No one but the brass at the CW can answer this question but my guess is the answer is it is not more profitable in itself, at least not in the usual fan argument way. It is however schedule spackle with a decent number of episodes which automatically makes it more profitable on Netflix given the nature of their contract. The more episodes a show has, the more Netflix pays. Mostly though, it is a CBS produced show in a landscape of WB "hits" and I think that gives it the additional boost it needs. It may be the first CBS-produced show on the WB to hit an acceptable amount of syndication episodes. For the record, I think Reign will join it in that as well. When your company is a merge between 2 different media giants, both have to be given as much room to create money as possible to keep the relationship afloat.

    ReplyDelete
  79. they could have given it a full season if Rachel Bilson wasnt pregnant and wanting to spend time with her baby after it was born instead of working. A full season would have meant shutting down production to accommodate her and that costs money.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I also think Jane's renewal depends on if it is bringing in new viewers for the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  81. this would require both mid season shows being hits or there will be gaps in next seasons schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  82. it both mid seasons shows flop they might renew as schedule spackle?

    ReplyDelete
  83. be realistic, the question is which shows will be cancelled not which ones you want to be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Good question. iZombie has Rob Thomas who is riding the Veronica Mars high right now and I've heard mixed things about The Messengers. My guess is iZombie takes the coveted position.

    ReplyDelete
  85. you forgot T100, its ratings dont warrant a renewal esp considering it only has 29 episodes at the end of this season.

    ReplyDelete
  86. 12/13 - 90210, Emily Owen, Cult, final season of Gossip Girl

11/12 - The Secret Circle, Ringer, LA Complex, final season of OTH

    Nikita also ended in 13/14.

    ReplyDelete
  87. 2013/2014 - The Tomorrow People, Star-Crossed, Carrie Diaries, Nikita

    ReplyDelete
  88. Either Reign OR BatB are safe, both are Take5 co-productions, at least one of these will have to go. CBS doesen't take as much from these productions as they do from CBS Television only productions (only WB takes a small percentage of these shows as well and vice versa for WB Television productions).
Can't see both being renewed and a pure CBS product being let go.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think they'd pick Reign over T100 it has more episodes

    ReplyDelete
  90. I agree. I see both Reign and BatB saved way more than both being cancelled. I was being unclear. If The Messengers is a hit than one or the other could go. If it is not, then I think both will be spared.

    ReplyDelete
  91. no clue if it is actually bringing in those new viewers but if it eeks out a surprise renewal with those poor ratings I think we'll be able to assume why?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Both are certainly not in the cards, CBS probably still profits more from JtV, Messengers or whatever than from Reign/BatB. They have to share quite a cut with Take5. One lives, one falls. As easy as that

    ReplyDelete
  93. these guys: http://www.take5productions.ca/
take a lot of the earnings Reign and BatB make, CBS is not big on sharing

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sorry, misunderstood again. Let me seek to clarify. You think Jane the Virgin or The Messengers will replace either Reign or BatB because the later are co-produced with Take 5. Is that right? If so, I disagree because Take 5 also absorbs much of the cost of producing those two. I think Take 5 is actually a plus in Reign's case at least. My guess is the amount put in and the amount taken out by Take 5 balances each other.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Take 5 will certainly NOT opperate at a loss Dahne, this studio is pretty big these days and if anything will only demand to take more out of what they make from both shows.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I disagree because having another production company share the costs of producing the show should make up for any backend they take.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I really don't think HoD would've gotten a full season even if Rachel wasn't pregnant, it's ratings we're too low just like Nikita's though HoD is cheap & Nikita was exspensive

    ReplyDelete
  98. the issue is that Take5 opperates at other budgetary standards, standards CBS certainly has not in plan for Reign. And standards that can't be financed for a show with Reigns ratings. Budget is everything

    ReplyDelete
  99. I find it very hard to believe that Take 5 is a bigger company than CBS, especially since half of their shows are currently off the air. Penny Dreadful and Vikings are the only ones that even have good word of mouth and neither of those are ratings giants either. Yes, they might be an up and coming production company, but they aren't going to push CBS at this point. Now if they back out of either show, increasing the cost to CBS then it might effect these shows. Otherwise, no way.

    ReplyDelete
  100. The hate for bath is hilarious here. Its does extremely well online AND is one of the more popular shows internationally. Its already been stated cw doesn't just look at viewership.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I agree with that but I also agree with Toni. 90210 Wasnt kept on with similar ratings despite being CBzs and BatB being finically profitable overseas,BaTB sold for three seasons and that will dine with its upcoming season and good international sales can and will save a show only so long when it's still aways from syndication and not making much ad rvune with 0.2-0.3 demo, no critical acclaim ect..90210 was CzbS and has enough episodes for syndication

    ReplyDelete
  102. I think Jane, Izombie, Messengers and Hart of Dixie will be canceled. Maybe the 100 depending on how things go.
I can't see Reign or BATB canceled just yet. There's just too many unknowns when it comes to those CBS-Canadian co-productions.

    ReplyDelete
  103. CW can't a keep a show like Jane around when it's 0.4. Three/four episodes in its first season ,it's ratings will Likley be 0.2-0.3 in spring

    ReplyDelete
  104. It depends on how much the CW is willing to pay them for it. By partnering with CBS there is going to be plenty of behind the scenes dealings, none of which we get to see sadly. I agree that the CW operates on a much different playing field when it comes to renewals and ratings. That's what makes it so much fun to produce. However, I do not see the CW letting Reign go if they can at all help it. It could very well get a shortened season but I am betting it gets a season 3 all the same. Both Reign and BatB make more for the CW on the Netflix deal, which I believe is the only thing keeping the network afloat, than either Jane the Virgin or The Messengers will.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I was about to write a long ass reply about how online figures don't exist and theCW uses them as an excuse. But it would be lost on you anyway

    ReplyDelete
  106. It depends on what fails9 November 2014 at 17:10

BATB, HOD, iZombie, Jane The Virgin and The 100.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Reign,BatB are closer to syndication than Messengers will be

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yes, which doesn't contradict anything I've said. If The Messengers does really well, it won't matter how many episodes it has. If it doesn't then, Reign and BatB have the advantage. Either way, one if not both will likely return.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Absolutely, because it won't be for good critical reviews.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Enough with the negativy people, you don't know what you are doing by saying cancel that show cancel that other one- You are hurting fandoms all over the world. We all have our fandoms that are unique and powerful when they work together but most of all we like different thinks Don't hate other shows and praise or hope or wish for them to get cancelled because they might only because YOU don't like it, well then I'll do the same for the show you like....please!! . Let's be a little bit more mature than that and stop trashing other shows. In the past we all had one of our favourite show cancelled EVERYONE and if you haven't well you don't know how lucky you are. but remember that FEELING when your show was never going to be on TV again and it's worst when they leave us with cliffhangers. To each their own.

  111. What I think will be cancelled and what I want to be cancelled are often 2 totally separate things. I am not bashing anyone by thinking that a show will be cancelled. TV is a business and as such can be analyzed as one. That's nothing personal to any show nor does it suggest anything about the quality of a show or its fans. If people in fandoms are hurt by the realization that their show might end, then it is best that they not participate in a logical discussion of TV business. All TV shows end and discussing the prospects of this is not an attack on anyone. I have seen very little "trashing" of shows on this thread so far and more of an intelligent discussion on why shows get cancelled.

  112. I think that Hart of Dixie, The 100, and The Messengers will be canceled along with either Jane the Virgin or iZombie. I think Beauty and the Beast and Reign survive because they are closest to syndication. At the end of the season Beauty and the Beast will have 57 episodes and Reign will have 44 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  113. HoD is closer to syndication than either BatB or Reign yet you they will be renewed cause they're care to syndication,

    ReplyDelete
  114. Hart of Dixie will have 76 episodes at the end of the season, and that's already enough for a short syndication deal. Nikita was syndicated at 73 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  115. HoD,BatB,JtV,Reign & iZombie.

    ReplyDelete
  116. No one is hating on BatB.Also it's not hating to say from a ratings standpoint that BatB with very very low ratings might be cancelled.Yes mits profitable but last season CW didn't have two soohmore shows halfway to syndication and a true hit show(this seasons TO,Reign & Flash, which put BatB in a tighter spot this season than last. All shows end sometime and BatB will have finished its "sold for three seasons internationally" commitment .CW has to cancel some shows and BatB,HoD will be the lowest rated besides Jane,Reign .I say this as a fan of the show. But no critical acclaim, low US ratings/ad revunue ect don't help it's case and if it wins a PCA again that won't be a consideration.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Renewed: Arrow, Supernatural, The Flash, The Originals. The Vampire Diaries, The 100, and Jane the Virgin
Now Summer Shows: Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, Reign, and The Messengers
    Cancelled: iZombie

    ReplyDelete
  118. Czw has a rich multi year muti million doaakr deal with Hulu & Netflxso shows that do well make Czw money and CW said last season they care very much about online,DVr,onDemand viewing because they target a younger audience more Likley to watch those ways.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I don't even want to think about The 100 getting cancelled :/ Voted for Beauty and the Beast, Reign, and Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  120. CW dosent scripted during summer except burnoff or very very cheap shows(Candian shows or CW Seed shows) which leaves out Messengers.BatB was only moved to summer due to overfill schedule & no room during the regular season.Summer means lower ad revunue, lower ratings, lower international liscenseing fees.

    ReplyDelete
  121. As long as they keep Originals. This is my addiction

    ReplyDelete
  122. VD,SPN,Arrow,Flash renewed,VD for a final season
TO:renewed -it has book,DVD sales,is halfway to syndication,it's the fifth highest rated show and I doubt CW gave it a web series and books just to cancel it.With VD Likley ending next season,I think they'll keep the spinoff around,
    Reign :renewed-halfway to syndication,CBS and book,DVD sales.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Not if Arrow,Flash,SPN,VD,TO are renewed and CW pick up the usual four to five new shows

    ReplyDelete
  124. I agree one Reign,BatB,Jane gets renewd and Reign,BatB are closer to syndication and didn't do as badly so early in thier first season as Jane is so one if Reign,BatB gets Renewdd and they pick up a couple CBS pilots.Though Messengers has to be considere but CW hasn't had good luch with Midseason shows,

    ReplyDelete
  125. They have Arrow, the Flash, both of which are obviously CW's prized possessions, and are developing a new superhero show. And I meant for the future. Back then after Twilight it was all about vampires. Now with DC and Marvel's line-up and all of these shows coming out based around both universes, it's obvious the future is gonna be jam-packed with superhero shows. They work well for CW (see: Flash breaking all-time records) and it's their way forward.

    ReplyDelete
  126. The five-show choice was spot on since I picked five shows.

Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, The 100, iZombie and The Messengers. I see those shows going.

I would say Jane the Virgin or Reign, but it seems like The CW's proud of those shows regardless their respective ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Thanks Dahne. I am just really trying to understand, from a business standpoint, what CBS and The CW get out of renewing BaTB this season. This helps.

    ReplyDelete
  128. And on a sidenote, I'm glad the shows I only pay attention to on The CW are on the very last of the poll results(Supernatural, The Flash and Arrow).

Yes, I'm bragging about it, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I definitely think Supernatural will run to twelve seasons. I have a feeling that Carver is trying to map out his five season arc as Eric Kripke did. And just like Kripke, Carver only had three seasons plan which has obviously been expanded since Carver doesn't see S10 being the last season.

Gamble's run was obviously the true intermission between Kripke's years and Carver's years.

  130. pedowitz has said more than once there's getting to be too much genre shows on the network and they would move back to family programming, and that the "network must avoid slipping down an entirely genre rabbit hole" ( his actual quote from an interview last month,

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well, I think we can say for sure that all The 100's 16 episodes will all air on Wednesdays this year. The CW can wait until March to debut a new show in this timeslot, and from then, I suppose it depends on what that new show (either The Messengers or iZombie) would do in this timeslot vs. The 100.
As for Tuesdays, they will move SPN before they move The Flash.. there will likely be a new show in the timeslot of Tuesdays at 9PM next year.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Totally agreed with you! :)
The last episode was really cool and funny I really like Catherine and Mary together...

    ReplyDelete
  133. BaTB, IZombie, Reign, JTV, HoD.. tho i enjoy both JTV and Reign i would love to see one of those saved maybe they pull a BaTB on any of those two shows lol... I dunno but i dont IZombie doing much...

    ReplyDelete
  134. no no no, they are not going to cancell The 100, no no no. No.

    ReplyDelete
  135. those are my predictions as well

    ReplyDelete
  136. If they have a formula that works then they'll continue with shows of that formula. I'm not saying CW will have more than 3 superhero shows, or even 2, but they never had more than 2 vampire shows anyway when the genre was in its prime. My point was that superhero shows are quickly taking over similarly to the vampire boom back then.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Flash already is a 'super-hit' to CW considering it broke records. Just because it's not performing on the standard of all the great networks doesn't mean it isn't doing the CW wonders. Look at all of CW's other new shows. Look at the shows even in their second season. Like I said above, superhero craze is happening just like vampires did back then with all the new shows across the various networks. My original comment wasn't just restricted to CW, just a general statement. Good luck to anyone who feels like coming up with a new vampire show.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I agree that vampires are getting out of fashion and superheroes are hot right now. I am comparing hit with hit, Flash with TVD (not even in its best years, but last year). Flash has to prove itself yet to be pronounced a super-hit. Yes, it has broke some records on entry which is nice for CW PR but means nothing if it wont be able to keep up with an expectations . It has a long run ahead .

  139. First time I'm happy to see Beauty and the Beast winning a poll on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, Jane the Virgin, MAYBE THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.
NOT ARROW THE FLASH OR THE ORIGINALS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  141. I agree but I still loved The Originals!!
    Arrow ROCKS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. I think TVD has a better shot as getting another season than TO does.

I think Beauty & The Beast, Reign, Hart of Dixie & The Originals (esp. if the ratings continue to be low and slide down).

    ReplyDelete
  143. i don´t get the syndication argument at all? i mean somebody has to buy the rights and well thats not a forgone conclusion

    ReplyDelete
  144. Just not the 100 pls

    ReplyDelete
  145. Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, Jane the Virgin, and possibly Reign if the ratings continue to drop.

As for one I wish would get canceled but likely won't because for some mind-boggling reason people still watch: The Vampire Diaries

Won't say either way on iZombie as I haven't even seen an episode or even a proper preview yet.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Yes to BatB, yes to HoD (their star is leaving...the writing is on the wall), yes to Reign. JtV, I hope not. The critical acclaim it's received + the people's choice nom may & hopefully help it's chances, but it's definitely in danger.

    ReplyDelete
  147. 12 sounds good to me

    ReplyDelete
  148. The Bethel and Porter of HOD did say goodbye on Twitter (and it caused a ruckus). They dialed back, but apparently they wrapped up the story in a good place to call an ending. So I won't say the "Cast and crew have given no indication it won't be back."

    ReplyDelete
  149. I think HoD and BATB are the most likely gone--shortened seasons, moved timeslots, bad ratings, and at least HoD is probably creatively done. Reign and the 100 seem to be struggling, but I think it's going to come down to how the iZombie and the Messengers do. Midseason shows have such a hard time finding an audience, so I don't have high hopes, but who can say without having seen them at all. I think one of them and Jane are done for.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Christopher DeBono10 November 2014 at 09:57

BATB will have 57 episodes at the end of its current season which makes it the closest CBS distributed CW show to syndication. While 88 is preferred, another 13 could be enough to try selling it. Nikita was sold with 73 episodes so they may try BATB with 70.

I hope they don't but I wouldn't completely rule it out.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I know that, but doesn't mean I have to agree with that choice.

    ReplyDelete
  152. It's just that both Arrow and The Flash are fresher shows in respect of their content and story telling - I'm just finding the conflicts within stories on TVD, TO and the SPN to be the same ... just presented in a new way - there are just so many seasons of the same thing that anyone can watch!

    ReplyDelete
  153. Haven't Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie been announced as in their final season. (My memory is spotty though...) iZombie. I know nothing about The Messengers.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Jane the Virgin is pretty good though & it's still too early to tell about iZombie

    ReplyDelete
  155. I just started watching Reign and really really like it so I hope it won't get cancelled XD
I really really love Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries, but like some other stated already, I feel like they should make way for some new shows ... or make way for some newer shows to finish a bigger story arch. (I would miss Stefan and Caroline, though ... not as a couple, but just the characters themselves.)
I never got into The 100, Heart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast, so that's who I voted for... even though I know that The 100 has a slight chance of survival.
I didn't want to vote for any of the shows that haven't aired yet, because I won't just judge from preview posts or short clips, though I have to say The Messengers looked pretty good so far and I'm hoping the show meets my expectations.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Normally I would vote on a poll for this site but I don't vote for polls that encourages negativity from fans of other shows poo pooing other fans shows. That's not the way I was raised and it's a sad reflection on our society when we trample the underdog instead of cheering it on.
VERY SAD and I WON'T participate in negative polls such as this one
