    The Originals
    Gotham
    Sleepy Hollow

    Already watched Jane The Virgin.
Also catching up on Scandal and Grey's Anatomy. How To Get Away With Murder got me really into Shondaland :)

Going back and forth between the 2nd seasons of both shows.
I'm liking GA more then Scandal though. I'm also waiting on my local store to restock Private Practice so I can add that into the rotation :)

  15. Oh I am jealous of you. You are in for some big big episodes from all three of those shows. I am glad you are adding Private Practice as well. Nobody mentions it but I find the show terribly underrated. The first season is a bit strange and the show was clearly still trying to find itself. It gets better during Season 2 and then you have Season 3,4,5 and 6 which are absolutely amazing. I would recommend you try to syncronize the watching with GA if you could because starting on PP Season 2 and GA Season 5 there are crossovers happening, at least once per season.

As for Scandal, I love the show and the second season, especially the earlier portion was by far my favorite of it all, but to each his own. I can't really compare it to GA's old days since they were really really good too but in a completely different genre. Although both shows are from Shondaland, I don't find similarities between the two (Scandal and Murder I do, and GA and PP as well), so it's hard to compare for me.

Yeah I was planning on trying to synchronize GA and PP :)

My main problem with Scandal is other then Olivia, everyone else feels either unlikable or really forgettable (I assume the hard hitting/memorable stuff is coming up). Most of that I believe was because of how short the first season was though since they only had like 7 episodes to work with.

From what I've seen so far of early season 2, they've put more focus on the other cast members and it's starting to open up more. Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope is absolutely brilliant too.

While in comparison, I'm liking everyone in GA and they've all left some kind of mark already. Meredith and Cristina especially.

  21. With Sting finally making his WWE debut last night it's all about WWE Monday Night Raw tonight to see if he shows up again. All my shows going to the DVR because of that. Gotham, 2 Broke Girls and American Dad.

  23. I understand your point about Scandal. It really is the Olivia show for the most part during the first seasons. But I was quite fine with that to be honest. But in any case ,I can guarantee you that other characters will get pretty developed as well. Melly and Cyrus will get huge development progress during late season 2/ season 3, and Huck will become very prominent during the same time as well (something I am admittedly not a fan of). While at times I think they still struggle in writing Fitz and tend to use him more as a "president plot device" than as his own character, I think the issue disappears as the series goes on and particularly the end of Season 2A is a big big turning page for the character. Characters like Abby won't get truly developed until Season 4 though in my opinion. Unfortunately, I have to say that for a while all this development for the other characters came a bit at the expense of Olivia. I always adored her but at the end of Season 3/ very early Season 4, she didn't seem the same badass Pope I adored for the first years. But she is back on track now, so no complains anymore there!

Regardless, I think that what you are describing can be summarized as GA being very much an ensemble show (yes, during the early seasons, and surprisingly during the current Season 11), Meredith is the clear main character, but the show is still very much an ensemble show and you can literally have episodes without Meredith and it being okay (they practically had them already). On Scandal that wouldn't probably work since Olivia is front and center in every storyline and she is the link between all characters. You will probably be pleased with the later seasons of Grey's then, which I would say has no clear lead and has equal time and focus spent between a number of characters.
