  6. Fitz and Olivia all the way...but this fighting over Liv is juvenile and stupid.

  7. Are you kidding? Mellie is all talk and no action. How can she move from First lady to President having never serve any public office. It doesn't work like that. At least Hiliary was Senator.

  8. So if not for the Quinn storyline, this could read like an episode from Season 3.

  9. Divorce, Marry, Kill! It could be a 30 Rock game.

  10. Well, there's also Cyrus vs. Lizzie.

  11. Sorry missed that. I think my eyes started glazing over when I read the Fitz and Jake fighting over Olivia part.

  17. What in the hell is the point to this triangle? Olivia and Fitz will never be over even if she chooses Jake for now, so what's the point?

  18. Team Jake but let Liv be single for a while.

  22. Correct me if I'm wrong on the following things: 1) I thought this show is about a woman who is a fixer, not about two men who have a pissing contest over her. 2) Didn't the writers already burn through the "take down command" storyline? I don't know what this show has come to but the only consistent thing I am seeing is that Jake happens to be at the center of every episode. Olivia isn't even bothered enough to look for answers as to what happened to Harrison. It is Jake who is doing the investigating. The writing quality of this show is so poor that I suspect in the writer's room they have a board with a tally to see how many evil deeds each love interest has done in order to maintain them on an even keel. If Jake chokes Olivia then Fitz has to snatch her wrist so they can both be just as awful for her. If Jake makes a sex tape of Olivia without her knowledge or consent Fitz then outs her as his mistress without her knowledge. Both of these men crassly discuss her sexuality without her even being present. The writers play an obvious game of manipulation with the audience but these ridiculous junior high love triangle story lines belong on a daytime soap. Not sure where this show is going but the Olivia they introduced in the beginning of this show is nothing like the one being written now. Neither man in reality is good enough for her but if they sold the show on all the Olitz chemistry and milked it and milked it...and discussed it as "endgame" then inherently you would think that's where the show was headed. This is perhaps the only show on TV that has had 3 season finales practically end the same way. I don't care if Olivia is single and celibate for the rest of this show, I would prefer the woman who doesn't need to constantly be pining or being pined for in order to be strong. She was perfectly able to carry all the weight of her life until the whole B613 wannabe Alias plot exploded onto this show.

  24. oh ok so by ep 8 she and Fiz knows that it was her father that did it all.... I can't wait to see the look on her face when he finds out it was him along

Actually the two men fighting over Olivia is for the simple-minded viewer. The real story is about the real political structure of this fictitious US gov't. Where does the real power lay and who wields it. It's obviously not the President. I'm not so sure Rowan is the ultimate power mover. What makes this story so interesting is that you never know who is in alliance with whom. We don't for instance if Jake actually works for B613. He told Fitz he had been hunting Rowan ever since he got . . . but Fitz cut him off. Fitz is all in his feels and does not understand the extent to which corruption is interwoven into our democratic republic. We are beginning to understand just how deep the problem is when we listen to the father of Caitlin, Catherine's husband who he is so afraid of the security man who calls him boss to not pursue what really happened to his daughter and her best friend. In Season 2, cyrus gave us a hint about our political system when he described it as magical, like the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. When Jake asked David Rosen why he had not released the B613 files, he said it would destroy our political system by exposing it as the fiction that it is. to me this is the real story. In terms of the ending of each season, we find that we always return to the fiction - Mellie propping up Fitz and Olivia not willing to pay the price for what she claims she wants. Part of the magic is the President and First Lady remaining married even after they leave the WH. So when Olivia said she had worked out how she could be FLOTUS at the end of S2, she was living in a fantasy that would create a major crack in what we perceive a President to be even after he leaves office. I love this story but I'm more interested in how power plays out in the political process. I love the Jake character and Olake but the relationship piece is not my primary reason for watching. I'm more of political junkie and mystery buff.

  26. That's all very good for depicting the power struggle and inner workings of our government. But this isn't a show like House of Cards. It certainly didn't start out that way which is what I was trying to get at. The writers on this show leave a lot to be desired and quite frankly although your insight into the real way our government function makes total sense, it does not apply here. Why? Because this is a show about a political fixer. We see the grimy underbelly of politics through the cases she solves, not asking for this to be a procedural, I'm just asking to revert to the time when she was front and center of the show. This show didn't start out being a spy thriller. This show has gone down the drain since B613 came on the scene, it has been #OMG story lines and nonsensical writing riddled with plot holes ever since. This show is about power. About a woman who wields power. Let's keep it that way.

  27. But Rowan does have ultimate powers on the show. I mean, Fitz is president because of him.

  28. The show stopped being about Olivia Pope in Season 3 when the writers became obsessed with B613, Mellie, and the awful Jake who air hogs and Scott still has the same facial expression in all of his scenes. He's a terrible actor but Scandal is too lazy to recast the role. Yeah, Olitz is the endgame, but they have to play this stupid triangle to stretch the show. The writers are lazy also. The big story for Season 4 should be Taking Rowan down, Fitz filing for a divorce on his own...Presidential divorce storyline would be epic and Mellie of course fighting him, and Liv getting back to OPA and getting back to herself and developing a gut again. Because if she had a gut she wouldn't have turned a blind eye to who Jake really is, a cold blooded killer. Liv dating casually is something I've always wanted to see from Olivia. It would be a nice change. And after Fitz divorce, him dating a POTUS would also be nice to see. Fitz is catch..Hot POTUS. Then work their way back to Olitz after the divorce and after Liv has gotten her ish together. Olitz chemistry moves the show...so they will never end the relationship. Haters...sucks for you.

  30. Everything you just wrote is too logical for this show. The divorce storyline albeit not about Olivia directly is practically writing gold! And Olivia getting back to her gut would be the greatest thing this show can do! From your keyboard to Shonda's ears!

  31. Give me a break there is nothing political about this show, it's a soap opera. In other for Olake to be viable Olivia had to be destroyed character wise and that's why I resent Jake and want him dead really.

  32. Team Jake should die.

  33. This season has been good, but I miss Abby being at OPA and them solving daily cases with less complicated major stories.

  34. Team Fitz all the way. So tired of Olivia, Joke, (Jake) Mellie, Gabby (Abby) and Rowan. Fitz is all that I'm concerned about at this point. He deserves some happiness. Liv and Mellie is not the source of his happiness right now. Just want him to focus on baby Teddy and being Prez. Plus Tony is a hottie and a great actor so much better than wooden boy Scott Foolery.
