  1. What!!??? There's no way they'd kill off Renaud! Overall, great episode. Missed this show.

  2. Great episode

  3. So so happy this show is back. Loved seeing the Grimm Gang again. Hope Trubel stays around. And Renaud is definitely not gone.

  4. Please tell me Renard isn't dead, dead!

  5. Awesome premiere! Welcome back, Grimm! You've been gravely missed.

The Octo-Man had to have been one of the coolest Wesen the show has ever done! I was really surprised by how much I loved it. So happy he will be coming back in the next episode.

Wu was thisclose to finding out about Nick's big secret. Come on, Hank! Tell him already. He deserves to know because he keeps on being traumatized.

Hopefully Rosalee and Monroe will still go on their honeymoon since they stayed in Portland to help figure out what kind of potion that Nick was supposed to drink.

There is no way in hell that Renard is dead. There must be some type of "medication" that will heal his injuries and make him come back to life or something. And who was that blonde woman outside his hospital room? Hmmmm, I'm intrigued in learning more about her.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I was assuming his mother? There was a line about notifying the next of kin.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yeah, I'm guessing Renard will be back in the world of the living soon enough. The show seems to be going deeper into The Royals and Renard is a perfect gateway to that world.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Would make sense...
She looked a bit young to be Renard's mother, but age is a bit fluid to witches guess! XD

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't know, she seemed way too young to be Renard's mother, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she is haha.

  10. HA! Exactly.

    is Trubel still under investigation?

  12. Nah, only mostly dead. :)

  13. Oh good, I can deal with only mostly dead :-)

  14. Very happy that Grimm is back on my Tv, I'd like to add to everyone's thoughts there is no way in hades Renard is dead, that had to have been his mom, she was after all the Kings mistress, that Wesen damn he's one ugly creature, two complaints, I'm sick of Juliette and for Gods sake tell Wu already, why are they letting the guy slowly go out of his mind, Monroe and Roselee are awesome, Trubel is really happy to be team Nick, she feels she has a purpose!!! Nice episode!!!!

  15. The time that Renard talked to his mother on the phone her voice sounded like Shohreh Aghdashloo's who played the gypsy that helped Adalind get her powers back. I wonder if his mother sent another hexinbeast ( sp.?) in the lovely form of Louise Lombard to help him. Maybe a sister ?

  17. I don't think so. The only one who still seems interested is the wesen FBI agent, and I'm guessing she has a different agenda .

  18. awesome episode, nick and juliette seem okay amidst all the chaos, i hope they get through this stronger than ever and finally get married, truble looks like she misses her mentor in nick and the process where the octupus man takes memories is really long it surprised me when we came back to him he was still doing it

    ReplyDelete
  19. Awesome start to the season and planting little tidbits for things to come..... there's no way that they'd kill off Renard..... I'm going to guess that the mystery woman in the hospital is Renard's mother and being a Hexenbeist, she'll bring him back somehow.... I liked how they used Trubel tonight with training by fire for the baby Grimm, I just hope she doesn't try to bite off more than she can chew.... I imagine that Nick/Juliette will struggle over whether or not being a Grimm is a good/bad thing for Nick/them... and I'm really curious how they will handle Wu's ever growing torment/curiosity over things....

    ReplyDelete
  20. A lot of fun having Grimm back!

I'm glad Juliet has finally accepted the world she and Nick live in. I was a bit worried she would be pissed about the Nick sleeping with JuliAde...

I suspected they would kill Renard from something I read, but I still expect him to come back to life soon... Although I guess if this new Hexenbeast is Renard's mother we would have a new connection to the European Royals.

Time for wu to be ivited into the Scooby Gang, right?

Knew that FBI agent was going to be trouble. But really hope she can prove me wrong. Wonder if her whole entire crew happen to be Wesen?

  22. Character Assessments:
Nick: I really do not like that he is not a Grimm anymore. I am just hoping this won't last long, but I have a feeling it might. I feel as though a person who has Grimm abilities that they were born into would suffer physical repercussions as being a Grimm changes the physical body... something to look for maybe.

Juliette: Based on the season 4 promo after the episode aired, that seems to be her purpose this season; to annoy us with her opinion.

Trubel: I LOVE her character and I felt that she had more concern for Nick than Juliette did. I can't wait to see what the writers have in store for her and Nick. He needs to get his powers back so they can kick ass together.

Renard: Oh god I hope he isn't dead. I have really grown to like his character. I actually would like to see him and Nick's mother have a scene together. Both of them have such a strong presence and being together would have fun-to-watch ripple effects.

Wu: damn it! I wish Hank and Nick would have juts told him before. His whining is getting old. His character is strong enough onscreen, he doesn't need this extra storyline.

Monroe & Rosalee: my god I love this couple. They did not get enough screen time! All this sacrifice they put forward for Nick... makes me wonder if they have a breaking point. But anyway, I look forward to their awesomeness.

It was an amazing episode and makes me look forward to the new season!

  23. They dropped a few hints to the Adalind and Nick connection since she put that spell/potion on him so I am really excited to see what their connection will be this season. Will he feel her pain if she gets hurt? Will she be able to manipulate him from where she is at on the other side of the world because of their connection? Perhaps a body switch or mind perspective switch?
I hope they keep up with that storyline since I think it has great potential in not only the effects of their connection but also potential helping him get his powers back too. I hope the don't skimp over this story potential like they did zombie Nick which also had great potential but barely got mentioned after two episodes.

Makes you wonder if the other three feds are Wesens too?!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I thought Stefania Popescu might be Renard's mother as well, but after she was killed Renard never commented on it. I think he did make a comment about his mother being in hidign somewhere. So that made me think it was not Pepescu.

    *Shrug*

  26. I wouldn't bet on Nick getting his powers back real soon...
Think of Season 2 with Juliet losing her memory and how that wen on until the finale.... If I had to guess on pure speculation I think Nick may be without his Grimm powers until AT LEAST the mid-season finale.

Don't get me wrong... I would prefer he get his powers back ASAP!

    ReplyDelete
  27. he does wear a wedding band that the writers and producers said would get explained fairly soon and a wife is next of kin and the actress that is going to be playing "Elizabeth" is 44 in real life and Sasha Roiz is 41 in real life and that would be cool as hell to get the wife

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh god that was torture. Her character has no development overall anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  29. has anyone ever considered the possibility that Trubel could be Nicks half sister his mom could have had another baby after her husband died and since it was to risky to keep the child or give the child to her sister she put her into foster care or something we know that being a Grimm is a hereditary trait and David said in an interview that Nick sea her as a sister/daughter could be cool and again I state I wonder if Louise Lombard's character is in fact Renard's wife that would be a pretty good twist that some might not be expecting

    ReplyDelete
  30. The producers said it will be longer than the zombie arc last year (2 ep), but won't be dragged forever. My guess is around...idk...4 episode maybe, 5? But that's a just a random guess, could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Like I said in the other post, the maths don't add up. Nick ''lost'' his mom when he was 12, so a half sister/brother from his mom would need to be around 13 and more years younger than him. He has about 10 years difference with Trubel, that would make her around 2YO at the time of the crash

    ReplyDelete
  32. I thought about that last year some time yeah...
In one of the episodes Trubel mentions her mom left when she was young or was never around and I wondered....

If Kelly stayed at home all the time and was faithful to Nick's dad it seems implausible, but we don't know that she was always in Portland and always faithful. It seems fairly common for Grimms to travel around. If his mom ever traveled leaving Nick with just the dad or Aunt Marie etc.... A post kill out-of-town affair is possible I guess..

Maybe Aunt Marie could be Trubel's mom even. We know she traveled...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good to know, thanks.
I don't follow Grimm production news much at all so I have not heard any insight into the new season whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Unless Juliet apologizes to Nick for getting mad at him for being raped, I want her to die. She has been by far the worst part of the show since the beginning, but this BS is too much.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I liked the episode and very glad its back, one issue I have though is I kinda think the new opening sequence is a bit too long.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So happy the show is back.Loved the episode. Is it next Friday yet? :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. No way I believe Renard is dead. I'm guessing the visiting blonde is his savior and not, as my first thought, someone sent by the royals to ensure he's dead. My next guess is that its his mother?

I really liked the story and episode. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the WotW...the early images were kind of creepy looking, but it wound up being really cartoony for me. I think it's because the coloring of the tentacles was too vibrant. For me it read kids cartoon.

Who is playing Octodude? He looks like the secret service agent on Scandal.

    Poor Wu.

What's y'alls read on the female FBI agent? Is she (gah never was able to memorize my Wesen) the hawk folks who are loyal soldiers? The set up had me thinking she was going to steal the books and go after Nick. But, she's played everything straight. Hmmm.

I really really hope the non-powered Nick story doesn't go on too long. Not particularly interested in a long season of depressed Nick and leave him broken Juliette.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That was a little bit much in one episode.
Who else thinks that Renard will end up in a wheelchair?

    ReplyDelete
  39. The press release for episode 4 says "Sasha Roiz also star", so no, he's not dead. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm pretty sure Nick was violated in a worse way. Do not see the two as being remotely even.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Loved this episode. Anyone else worried that the memory-stealing wesen will attack Nick and leave him with AMNESIA!!?
Renard will be resurrected somehow, and he'll be just fine. It will take a few weeks, though. Maybe he'll be able to recreate the cure for Nick.
I enjoyed seeing more of Rosalee in that awesome wedding gown. Next week she'll go back to baggy plaid shirts.

    ReplyDelete
  42. So Juliette lied to him for months, kept information from him which resulted in him loosing his memories and becoming obsessed with someone else, then left her alone to get basically raped (which only didn't happen due to dumb luck), and then, when he finally got his memory back didn't apologize at all while he did? Funny, I think it was the other way around....
Really, having trouble to deal with the concept that your boyfriend slept with the woman who basically destroyed your mind, no matter what the circumstances, is understandable.
I just wish that the writers would finally acknowledge that what happened to Hank and Nick was rape, and what happened to Renard and Juliette was attempted rape.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am not a fan of melodramatic Juliet, but I think both Nick and Juliet were violated by Adalind's act. She has a right to react... Like you said that aspect is realistic to me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like Juliette and think some of the crap she gets from fans isn't really fair. But I get the feeling that it's mostly because compared to everybody else people just don't care about her and that's mostly because she is just the love interest she IMO is very competent and useful love interest but still just a love interest so she in the end is the boring character of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I remember Frau Pech being killed as part of Stefania's ritual to restore Adalind's hexenbeist powers but I don't remember Stephania being killed. And I do not remember Stephania ever knowing that the child could be Renard's- just that it was royal.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Helena Ahlstrom Jole25 October 2014 at 17:16

    Nope, Stefania is not dead.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't know if I'd label what happened to Renard and Juliette as attempted rape...Who attempted the rape? Both Juliette and Renard were equally under the influence of the potion and Renard only performed the ritual to save her life, not so that he could take advantage of her. Is Midsummer Night's dream also a play about a series of attempted rapes too? I don't know......

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yeah, yeah.
I up-voted AvonleaMist for correcting my mistake earlier.

I couldn't recall Agdashloo's character's name so I looked it up and then forgot to properly complete my thought in the post. I meant to say..

I thought Stefania Popescu might be Renard's mother, and then Frau Pech as well, but after she was killed Renard never commented on it.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm not particularly invested in Juliette, but I agree completely with your comment. When a character is labelled from the beginning. the "love interest" , I always see this as the kiss of death for that character. The writers could have easily solved the problem by introducing her initially as a work colleague, partner, rival, investigator, or even a friend.......anything, but "the girlfriend". Even if she eventually became his love interest, at least viewers would already be more invested in the character and the relationship. But based on the way she was written, I just find it hard to find her that interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not nearly enough Renard for my tastes but good nonetheless.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Helena Ahlstrom Jole25 October 2014 at 17:56

The (fan-run) wikia does have her listed as a Steinadler, but I'm not sure if they're just guessing or if they got the info from somewhere official.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I can admit she is my least favorite out of the cast but I do like her and I think she has better qualities then a lot of love interests I've seen in shows like this and her relationship with nick is honestly pretty healthy and likable.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Adalind...the shows very own serial rapist.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I am wondering if eventually Trouble's powers will be transferred to Nick for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Last season was definitely a positive direction for her character, She was extremely supportive oft Nick being a Grimm, and made a point of getting involved in a number of his cases. I also really enjoyed her evolving friendship with Rosalee. I know the incident with Adalind was stressful for both her and Nick, but I think that it would be a mistake for the writers to regress her character and turn her into the disapproving girlfriend who doesn't want Nick to get involved in anything Grimm-related. It's OK for the first few episodes, but if the writers turn it into a recurring theme, without giving her character any other material, then they may as well just writer her off.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I didn't care for the new opening either.

    ReplyDelete
  57. That's why I was happy to see her come down the stairs to help Nick clean up the blood. I think she's trying very much to be a partner to him. She has shown herself to be competent and also able to understand all the crazy things that are going on. I hope the writers capitalize on her qualities more and more.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah! I mind went right there! If not mother, it could be a sister.

    ReplyDelete
  59. We actually don't know how old Adalind's mom was. So maybe Hexenbeists have larger lifespans?

But it also could have been a sister; but definitely a family member with the next of kin thing.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Louise Lombard looks awesome!! like damn!

Great episode, loved the scene where Juliette saw the fuckery it had become her house.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think he will end up full human or full Wesen.
