  1. Ah, not surprised at all that yet another Jared injury got written in. LOL, at least it's been eight years since the last one!

  2. What did he actually do to it? And how did the injury happen? I read something about Osric did it whilst wrestling but I don't know how that would work, he's tiny compared to the moose haha. Great news about Jensen finally joining twitter!

  4. Jensen is currently trending on Twitter (US, not sure about worldwide yet). This fandom is crazy! Haha.

  5. He will be at at least 100,000 followers before the day is through. Do you think that he can make it to a million?

  6. They were wrestling in the green room at JIBCon back in May and it was a pretty confined space, they didn't clear a big enough area or something. Jared ended up hitting his arm on something while he was flipping Osric over and dislocated his shoulder, which was bad enough. But then instead of seeking proper medical treatment for it right away, he let his bodyguard Clif try to pop it back in for him and I think that ended up doing more damage to him because he ended up breaking a bone in his arm and tearing his rotator cuff on top of the dislocation. He needed to have surgery to correct it.

  7. Yup, he and Osric were wrestling and he slipped on paper or something, and managed to both dislocate and break his shoulder and hurt his elbow.

  8. Ouch! That sounds painful. Poor Osric, I be the feels awful haha. Although it could have been just the papers fault.

  9. I think he's going to hit a million....over 110,000 as I type this

  10. Wow. That's pretty damn impressive haha.

  11. Right? If he doesn't hit the million mark "today" (depending on what time time zone you are in), I don't think it will take more than 48 hours!

  12. he already has 179 K

  13. Seems there is now a Twitter movement to get him over the million mark in 24 hours!

  14. Does not surprise me the whole thing will become a circus . He is not the first actor to join twitter .

D: I just cringed reading that bit about the dislocated shoulder. Hats off to Jared for attempting to pop it back in with his friend, very brave. Hurts like a mo-fo.

  16. lol!! damn Cliff can he do something right??... ; P

  17. As for Jared, at least it's only going to be 4 episodes this time. Last time he had the cast on for 6 episodes. Although it probably helped that he injured and had surgery roughly a month before filming started. I do wonder if it impacted the first few episodes, though.

  18. Holy crap really? Boys! they injure themselves all the time god that sucks. And I wanted too know how he got injure in season 2 I like too know that story.

  20. Reminds me of when Stephen Amell said (I'm paraphrasing) if you're actor these days you gotta have twitter.

  21. I think that was the result of J2 getting attacked by some guys at a bar and J2 kicking the other guys' asses...but Jared ended up with a broken hand...not positive but I think that's what it was.

  22. We popped mine back in in high school. Couldn't write on the chalkboard for a couple of weeks.

  23. I dislocated mine in a mosh pit back in high school and my friend popped
it back in for me. Hurt like hell lol. It was sore for a few weeks and I
couldn't lift it over my head for a bit and 20 something years later it
still acts up now and again.

But if you don't know what you're doing when you're trying to relocate the joint you can make it a hell of a lot worse and that's what it sounds like happened here with the rotator cuff tear. I can't imagine the amount of pain he must have been in during all of that if his arm was actually already broken when Clif was trying to pop it back into place for him. These guys are insane. I think Jared forgot he's not actually a Winchester. He has medical insurance and probably should have just gone to the ER right away.

  24. Yeah, you can tell during a couple of scenes in Simon Said where he seems pretty out of it. The scene where he's sitting on the sidewalk after the Doctor walked in front of the bus he looks pretty loopy. I can't believe they let him try to film scenes while he was still under the effects of anesthesia, he said at one point he fell down a flight of stairs lol. Then they sent him to his trailer and he passed out. When he woke up he had no recollection of filming anything.

Damn, so not only did his arm pop out of the socket twice, he had a fractured humerus and a torn rotator cuff on top of it. Holy crap, that must have been painful as hell! And he showed up to do his panels and photo ops the next day. That's pretty hardcore.

  25. Ah, that's right. Yes, sorry, I knew he got hurt during the bar fight but I couldn't remember which season that was. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was thinking that was season 1 that he got in a bar Fight and season 2 it was on the set and then in season 8 when he was skiing he got injure too God that Man!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I forgot about that...did he wear anything for that skiing injury?

    ReplyDelete
  28. He's basically done what I did (except mine got a lot worse due to 3 years of doctors telling me it was fine and should be healed but that is a different story xD). If he has the op it should be reasonable in 3 months, back to "normal" in 6

  29. I do not think so was it around X-mas break and after that they made Sam weak doing that Crap with closing the Gate hell at the end of season 8 but I do not know.

  30. His wrist got broke in the episode where the zombie girl tackled him in the graveyard. At the end of the episode he said he thought she broke his hand and he was in a cast in the next episode. Google his interview about it. In Simon Said, the scene when they found the bong in Andy's van, Jared said he didn't remember much of it because he was on pain killers for his hand. When he messed up his shoulder at the con, he had a panel to do and wouldn't go to the hospital. They gave him something for the pain, he did his panel then went to the hospital.

  31. That's where they worked it into the show, but he broke it during the vampire episode, Bloodlust, that came right before it. He didn't get it Xrayed right away. They found out it was broken sometime during the zombie episode but they had to continue filming without a cast because they would have had to reshoot too much. In the shot where he was tackled in the grave yard, he was acting when he was rolling around in pain. The stunt guy did the fall. I found out all of the details in a Jared private Q&A at an EyeCon convention in 2008 (no filming allowed). But, he has mentioned it briefly at other conventions as well.

  32. Thanks! I read somewhere that it was broke in the graveyard scene. Glad I know what really happened!

Another injury?!, he needs the rabbit foot lol. Love Jensen pic too!.

  34. I was just reading someone's Meet and Greet report from VanCon and Jared went into pretty great detail about what happened to him and it literally made me sick to my stomach hearing about how badly Clif and Tahmoh Penikett's "doctoring" messed him up. Jared said they were "yanking and wrenching" his arm over and over trying to pop it back into the socket. Apparently the break in his arm didn't heal correctly (the bone fused together improperly) and he needed to have the bone rebroken and reset in surgery. I'm pretty sure that he probably needed to have the bones pinned together because this sounds like it was a pretty bad injury and humeral fractures take a really long time to heal. Hopefully they all learned their lesson and the next time someone gets hurt they seek professional medical treatment right away!

  35. The trials storyline was already in play when he got injured skiing. They just hadn't started to film any of it yet. He was already planning on losing a few pounds to seem more realistic with Sam being sick from the trials and injuring his ribs actually helped him out where that was concerned because he couldn't work out then either.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He already did have surgery. He explained it in his Meet and Greet at VanCon that they were trying to treat him conservatively at first but the bone in his arm wasn't healing in proper alignment so he needed to have it rebroken and reset in surgery.

  37. Your right and the injure did help with the storyline.

  38. when exactly did the previous injury happen
