  1. I'll miss Joffrey very much. He was such a great villain. The only annoying thing about him was his bad behaviour towards his great uncle Tyrion.

  2. Oh so much happened i need to digest all of this!

But oh man Joffrey!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a way to go...actually it wasn't slow enough, not painful enough, not for the pain he has caused...anyway,later.

  3. These last 20 minutes I've been holding my breath. OH MY GOD. I've been waiting for this moment so hard! AMAZING EPISODE AND GREAT PERFORMANCES BY PETER AND JACK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Amazing!!! and really, well done!! And let's be real here, 99% of the people in the wedding wanted him dead. He was such a bastard, he deserved suffer more that that. But finally he's dead!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Long live the King!
    Wait... What? He's dead?
    Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

A lot of great moments and almost all them a bit different than in the books. I think they did a fairly good job of the Purple Wedding. The scale and grandeur was there unlike some of the past big events. I loved the faces of the guests ranging from absolute amusement to feigned amusement to absolute disgust!

Joffrey deserved his fate no doubt , but I will miss Jack Gleeson's performance!

    I loved Oberyn once again!
His only thinly veiled threats and insults were delivered perfectly.

    Notes:
    - Glad to see the dog hunt make it to the series. Disturbing stuff!
    - Seriously D&D? Another sausage transition scene with Theon.... erm Reek?
    - Bron and Jaime should be fun sparring, but I will miss the Jaime and Ser Ilynm Payne bits from the books!
    - Seeing Axell Florent burn was interesting, but I don;t think it had the same impact without ever meeting the character before hand. Maybe just me.
    - Interesting to see them send Shae off, if she in fact made it onto the boat..
    - No Penny as I expected, sadly.

  6. For all the wrong and harm Joffery did he got off way to easy, IMO! Tyrion is in it deep and Sansa better run for the "Veil" with her aunt, because Cersai is going to be on a path of destruction now! Can't wait until next Friday (no spoilers). 4 DRAGONS AND THE GAMES THEY PLAY TO WIN THRONES, I am Nobody!!!

  7. Joffrey is the result of incest and has therefore a genetic disorder. It's not his fault. Cersei doesn't (as far we know) have such an excuse. So why should Joffrey suffer?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Joffrey was a egocentric and narcistic prick that think having funs was to make other people suffer. Cersei have lot of things to pay for too, but each thing in its time.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Awesome episode!

I was on the edge of my seat for that entire wedding feast. Those last few minutes seeing him suffer like that while he was choking were so goddamn satisfying. The little bastard got what was coming for him. Cersei, you're next.

Also, poor Tyrion. It looks like he always seems to be getting locked up.

    ReplyDelete
  10. You're right. She's the only to one to blame. Even Jaimie isn't pure even, unlike her. Loved the look on her face and the reaction she had when she realized what was going on. And it's only just the beginning. Plus, there is the prophesy as well, of which I'm a firm believer. oh another plus, her little brother will haunt her till the end of her days. It really doesn't any better than than. She truly is an evil, vile excuse of a woman.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The king is dead. All tape their reactions to the purple wedding and share it online so everyone else can have fun with it.

Seriously though, great episode. And they are throwing some elements from future seasons into the mix, I'm digging it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. He still chose to torture, murder and abuse people. Just because he's mentally unstable due to his lineage that doesn't excuse his culpability. Joffrey was a monster who got what he deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You wished for a more horrific death? Something like the Greyjoys do with using the tide to drown their victims? lol

    ReplyDelete
  14. Stop and clapped to myself when I read this in the book. Laughed and clapped as he died in the show.

And lol at "genetic disorder". Really, bro? Children born out of incest don't have a predilection towards sadomasochism, torture and a fetishistic desire to see people humiliated and killed. He was twisted, and he's the first character in a long time who got what was coming to him.

My heart was beating as I knew the scene was coming. Really great execution, thanks to Martin's writing.

I said once long ago that the true mark of acting genius is playing a character that everyone truly despises. Jack Gleeson played a character that we all hated and for that he deserves a a round of applause. I heard he's planning on retiring after this but I hope he sticks around because he was a great villain.

Overall, the emphasis on Game of Thrones has been the visual mastery but the acting of such people as Gleeson, Dinklage, and Dormer have made this show a true masterpiece.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't think so Jaime would poison his own son -- but you never know in the Game of Thrones. I also don't think it was the wine. I think that it was the pie. There was a dead bird in it - which might have been from the sword, but it could have been poisoned. Notice that Margaery didn't eat any. She seems too smart to want to be stuck with Joffrey for the rest of her life.

    ReplyDelete
  19. He is retiring? That's sad. I would love to see the actor in other types of roles. He had an amazing performance. Concur completely -- this show is a masterpiece. Well acted, visually stunning, and amazing plot and plot twists.

He announced he was done after Game of Thrones last winter. I'd love to see him in more though. Playing a sociopathic character to the point of making the average fan hate him is a gift. I again applaud him for his work.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If I'm not mistaken, he wants to study. But I guess he hasn't ruled acting out quite yet.
One of his problems with the business if overexposure. IMO, smart of him to want to pursue other things, he is very young and very talented, there certainly are other opportunities out there. If he does decide acting is what he should do, he can always stick with it later on.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aside from the disturbing first few minutes (but that's Ramsay Snow for you), the episode was brilliant. I knew what would happen at the end, but I wasn't made to wait for it because every other scene was so easy to watch. Definitely one of my favourite episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeesh, what a nasty death. I wonder who actually poisoned him? At this point my money is on Olenna... but who didn't have motive, really? I'm not going to miss Joffrey's childish tantrums, but as a villain he was top notch. And Jack Gleeson was fabulous. Peter Dinklage was amazing in this episode as well. I can't imagine what went on on set between takes haha

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ramsay is one sick puppy.

The central event in this episode is obvious, and it went off flawlessly. It seems they intend the audience to think it was Tyrion all along, and given how he and Joffrey have gotten along, it's a no-brainer to most onlookers. I'm sad there's no Penny also. Who knows? Maybe they'll introduce her some other way later on.

What we've seen so far has me wondering just how much more story remains for certain characters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. start_wearing_purple14 April 2014 at 07:37

Makes a lot of sense. Well, I hope he eventually comes back to acting. He's brilliantly played a villain and I'd love to see if he could act as another character in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Joffrey is dead! Long live the king hahaha

My poor Tyrion, this season is going to be a living hell to watch him suffer so. :(

Cercei I think will take Joffs place as th nasty one to hate, Tywin too.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Joffrey behavior has nothing to do with a genetic disorder!

If you look at his two younger siblings they are sweet children with none of the pure spite that Joffrey has.

Now you can say how he was brought up and how Cersei was with him may have influenced him but really he is a sadistic bastard, nothing to do with incest just some people are born that way.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jack Gleeson was brilliant in the role and in a way I will miss that sadistic bastard because he was so much fun but no one is safe in Game of Thrones and Joffrey needed to die to give the audience/readers hope that sometimes the wicked are indeed punished. Unfortunately there is still a whole bunch of heartache to come for the good men, women and children of Westeros and beyond.

I loved the Brienne/Cersei scene, in fact the wedding had so many awkward and fun moments. Loras and Jaime was another great moment but Oberyn and Ellaria may have been my favourite. Loved how proud they are of there bastard and how disdainful they are of the the Lannisters.

+ Jaime and Bronn fighting was pure joy
    + Loved Bran's vision
+ Alfie Allen was superb this episode
+ Ramsay proves that even if Joffrey is dead there is still one coldhearted psychopath around!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Jamie didn't kill Viserys, Robert, Robb or Renly so I think it's safe to say there's more than one Kingslayer on the show ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hmmm..
I wonder how many people have that opinion and still manage to ignore the incest-thing when it comes to Daenerys?

She too was born from a brother/ sister coupling..
And her parents were brother and sister...as well as a number of other Targaryens in her ancestral gene pool (or is it a gene puddle when it's so shallow?)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I couldn't agree more, he didn't have any genetic disorder at all, his cruelty was all to do with his upbringing, as is the Bastard of Boltons.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah people tend to forget about the Targaryens and their erm close breeding! Dany proves that you can be young and a good leader, or at least a leader trying to do the right thing. Joffrey proves giving power to someone that young and that spoiled is a terrible idea!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Roose Bolton and Cersei really should have read some parenting books before having kids.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Haha yes, they wouldn't have had the problems they faced now if they had.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm going to miss Joffrey a great deal, absolutely loved to hate the sick twisted little lion a lot over the last few years. So much more so in the show than in the book, Jack really breathed life into the character in a way that I didn't think was possible for such a young actor to achieve. I hope that he will return to acting once his studies are over and make me love another character in such a way again!

*The Viper/Sand stand off against the Lannister's was a nice hint at what's to come
*Great hunt at the start of the episode to remind us what a **** Ramsey is...poor Theon :(
*Jamie & Bronn, great scene full of snark, loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was expecting Penny too, I guess they are saving the casting for later rather than keeping her hanging around with nothing to do for the rest of the season?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, the Purple Wedding and Joffrey's death were the focus of this ep (although personally I would have liked Joffrey around a bit longer to make us hate him even more before he came to a grisly and verrrryyyyyy slow demise).

But no one has mentioned the scene where Tyrion sends Shay away. He did such a good job convincing her he hated her and that she was a whore, not telling her that in reality his family wanted to kill her. My heart broke for him during that scene and Shay seemed truly shattered. I hope she stuck around but is well hidden in King's Landing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That could be!
I have gone forth and back as to whether or not Penny will be included in the series and I still have no idea! XD

I cannot get a grasp of exactly where the next season or two ill go and what they will have Tyrion do. Long journeys over great distances do not play as well onscreen compared to on the page.

    Look at Dany's arc..
They show her journey mostly by showing her arriving places and leaving places after she frees, conquers or destroys them! Tyrion 's quest was much more introspective...

When I saw them sending Shae off (assuming she does go) I began to wonder if they will have Tyrion attempt to track her down . Where do whores go? She could fit that, but damn it would ruin some good book scenes if they did that!!

    I

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hmm, I'm leaning towards Shae not having left.....rule number one in TV, if you didn't see it happen with your own eyes, it probably didn't happen XD

I'd rather they still stuck to her out come, even if they've gone a different route to get her there (trying hard not to spoil here) so far in the show. I'd also like to see the Penny story, though I agree that a lot of the actual travelling will be an issue. I think they can show most of it in camps kind of like they have with Dany though, I do like the way the three characters involved there interact and I think the overall plot would suffer if they took that away.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Agreed on how much of a loss it would be.

I am one of the group that loved all the personal quests and missions of AFFC and ADWD. I loved the dynamic of the parallel themes of Brienne, Sam, and Tyrion all going on quests and how those quests force them to evolve while Cersei, Dany and Jon all learn while staying in place and attempting to rule. I loved the compare and contrast factor of the similar plots...

Plus frankly some very important plot points come out during those journeys.. I would hate if they just worked around them with exposition. .. Even if I do feel we need more exposition on the show! XD

Hopefully we do get some of the "travel logs" as some people referred to them... Even if it means a pre-journey scene, a camp site scene and an arrival scene without much actual road or sea time.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I liked that scene a lot as well!

I do wonder if she set sail or not as well.. If I had to guess I think she is still in KL...

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree Joffrey suffered like 30 seconds or less which seemed unfair given that he's one of the more psychotic characters. Ha.

    ReplyDelete
  43. lol, just something I think is funny but on Google if you type "who poisoned", "Joffrey is the top result is right now hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ya! It was sad seeing Tyrion having to be so cruel to Shay. I think she might still be in King's Landing,at least i hope she is.

I will miss Jack,he was incredible in GoT but yeah,he needed to suffer more,lol...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Agree with everything you said! That opening scene was brutal and OMG Theon isn't even a shell of himself anymore...I hope he is still in there somewhere? Its been hard to watch what has been happening to him since last season.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The same people who went around down voting everyone, just ignore.

    ReplyDelete
  47. LOL,yeah,i know but we're talking Joffrey here!

  48. MB ❤ UberFaenatic14 April 2014 at 13:26

The rest of the episode could have sucked and I would have rated it "Awesome" just for the last few minutes alone.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Great episode especially the last 20 minutes. The real question for me is who poisoned him (i haven't read the books so can only presume)

I reckon it was Olenna Tyrell with help from Dontos Hollard as he just happen to be their to say "come with me if you want to live"
Maybe the poison was concealed in one of the stones on the necklace sansa was wearing that dontos gave her. And when Olenna came over your notice how she touched her hair (sansa) then the necklace and looked like she had something in her hand when she was pulling away. Then when the cup was placed in front of her slipped the poison in.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I agree with you, but it should be noted Targaryens are prone to "madness" ;)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Awesome ending, I've been waiting for this since we first met Jeoffrey. I wonder how everything unravels now and hope Tyrion remains on scene, he's one of the few characters that would really diminish the show's charm if he died.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I remember Cersei distinctly saying that he was a sweet child...so whatever went wrong I'm not so sure that it's all her fault. Cersei is definitely at times her father's daughter, but his cruel to be kind policy surely has it's downside, but I don't find her a bad mother despite how she deals with other people. I just think she's a self preservationist, which is what Tywin's goal with his attitude towards them all is. He just for whatever reason got to a point where he became unmanageable and I think maybe Cersei is guilty of over protecting them...

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm reading a lot of comments of people who say they'll miss Jeoffrey cause they loved to hate him, and I do agree GOT has some great villains but most of them are deeper, they have interesting layers and they do just do awful things for the sake of doing them. That's why I won't miss Jeoffrey at all, he was just evil and had no depth whatsoever, I even enjoied Ramsey but I can't truly understand why anyone would miss Jeoffrey. I personally think that the show will be much more enjoyable now.

    ReplyDelete
  54. " Seeing Axell Florent burn was interesting, but I don;t think it had the same impact without ever meeting the character before hand. Maybe just me."

I think that's true, but it still comes of as an interesting juxtaposition to other things like Renly's death (again going back to Stannis' devotion to the God of Light) and the timing of Joffrey "Baratheon's" death, which has it set up in similar fashion of one family member killing another (Tyrion), despite that it's not the case...

    ReplyDelete
  55. "rule number one in TV, if you didn't see it happen with your own eyes, it probably didn't happen XD"

That is my favorite rule! :D

    ReplyDelete
  56. Great episode! Weddings? I Love weddings! Purple drinks all around! XD

I have to say that even though I won't miss Jofferey, his actual death scene was compelling, especially with the way that no one came forward at first and that it was Jaime and Cersei that finally did...

    Love the Cersei/Brienne confrontation!

    It's a doggy-dog world!
A lot of "Hound" dog juxtapositions surely in relation to last week's episode! The hunting of the girl who was eaten by hounds (and I think I probably dislike Ramsey Snow most of all at this point), Summer on the hunt with Bran experiencing 'the kill', and Cersei going against Margaery's wishes to serve the leftover food to the dogs rather than the poor!

The dwarf reenactment of the war definitely reminded me of the latest chapter Martin recently released from the next book! (especially because of the Bran/Summer scenes too!)

Is Shae gone? Have a feeling Tyrion's gut instincts are spot on with this one.

And who could of poisoned Joffrey? (Does it matter? j/k) It will be interesting to see if the "hints" are the same as in the books or if there will be a change here?

Loved Bran's visions, including one he shares with Dany, which I'm assuming is the future! XD

Just another solid and amazing episode! XD

    ReplyDelete
  57. Very perceptive. I'm impressed with how much detail you were able to pick up on. Are you sure you haven't read the books?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Verified -- in fact, 4 of the 5 search suggestions have to do with Game of Thrones. 3 of the 4 GOT suggestions involve Joffrey and the other is Jon Arryn.

    ReplyDelete
  59. no i haven't actually i have been meaning to for a long time , i just rewatched the episode since their was nothing else on T.V and looked very closely the second time round especially the last 20 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. - Crazy Ramsay Snow being as sadistic as ever.

    - Was this really the first time Roose visited the Dreadfort with his new wife, Fat Walda?

    - The book Roose Bolton I despise. Though this one I somehow feel a bit sympathy for.

    - Varys was really sick of Tyrion ignoring his warnings about Shae staying there.

    - Wait…was that Ghost or Summer at the Weirwoodtree??

    - Heh, Pod remembering one of Tyrion’s gifts from last season.

    - Curious that Sansa had the goblet in her hand as well.

    - I was confused why they showed us the cake again. It really is some pigeon pie!

    - Wow…looked like a Wild Walker in the vision!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm also not sure if a a certain independent contractor was paid enough to become a turn-cloak...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Haha, all i had write was "who po" and "who poisoned Joffrey" was the top result

    ReplyDelete
  63. Me too, but I think there was a nice "close shave" analogy there when Theon hesitated for second! :p

    ReplyDelete
  64. LOL! But it so perfectly counter acts/contrasts the Red Wedding in so many ways! :D

    ReplyDelete
  65. What ever poison they used was fast acting so I think it was Olenna who put the poison in the goblet. She nearly shoved the goblet into Tyrion's hand.

    I haven't watched it again..yet.

    ReplyDelete
  66. "I loved the compare and contrast factor of the similar plots.."

I think it's my favorite thing to do in general. It's why I love BR so much, because there often is an exuberant compare and contrast factor, but a lot of these cable shows have it too and I think nobody has it to the insane level of GOT!!! XD

    ReplyDelete
  67. Ya,i caught that.Boy,it took every fiber of his being not to react the way he wanted to.It lasted a split second but i was happy to see that!

    ReplyDelete
  68. You can say that again! :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. It's also not like "Jewelry" that was to worn at Margaery's wedding wasn't also highlighted point of conversation with Olenna during the last episode either...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Everything does point to her , but no one would suspect her. To make her look even more innocent in everyones eyes she immediately stands and says "help your king you fools"

    ReplyDelete
  71. Agreed...

And the TV series only has a fraction of what the books have! XD

There are just so many layers in the books to analyze. So much rich and nuanced history that hints at the present as well as the future and prophecies from various sources for different characters..

The series has done an okay job of inserting a little historic exposition here and there (ee learned of the downfall of Hosue Hollard in this season's premiere for example), but on the show they don't have time to waste on unneeded exposition...

When they bring up history you know it will be important to the story. Unlike the books where GRRM leaves a number of red herrings to inspire the crazy conspiracy theorists - of which I consider myself one! XD

    ReplyDelete
  72. When it comes to Cersei I think she's an unreliable narrator!

I do agree Joff is a lil psycho and would have been a problem child even in a different family, but having been raised to think he ruled - literally - and grown up with the mindset that he can do anything and get away with it, certainly added to his cruelty I think.

Like you said though, fate is a strong element in the series as is history and bloodlines like others have mentioned. The latter especially could come into play with Joffrey if certain theories turn out to be true!
    Mad King indeed!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ha! XD

I have enjoyed all the Lannisters except Cersei oddly. She always rubbed me the wrong way in the book and even more so on the TV series where they have made her much less nuanced.

She is one of only a handful of characters I do not love to hate - just hate in the series!

Oh well, that is what makes a show like GOT so great, there are characters enough for everyone to find roles to love and hate!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Question. What happens now with Margaery? I can't imagine Cersei is going to want her around,i'm sure Margaery wouldn't want to be either!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm gutted Joffrey is dead. He was a character we all loved to hate....he brought so much entertainment to the show...I don't think they can fill the hole he'll leave.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I completely agree the Tyrells do like to show their superiority especially the woman.

    ReplyDelete
  77. For such a young man he sure played it larger than life! yes,i will miss him too,he was a great character to hate for sure, but more importantly he was a outstanding actor in this series.

I think they have so many characters,so much going on that didn't directly involve Joffrey that i think it will turn out alright. We'll have other 'baddies' coming along and eve tho no one can take his place i think Cersei will give it a run for its money. I can just see her now on the war path and in pain over losing her beloved son.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Not just a brother/sister coupling, but probably rape as well. They say that Targaryens are prone to madness, and people thought that it was her brother who inherited that trait. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that she has escaped. Later in the series she's become paranoid, obsessed with prophesies, plus she's has experienced lots of grief and pain, betrayal.. And madness is something that has to be triggered by some unpleasant circumstance/event, just like it happened with her father There are people (myself included) who believe she is heading that way in the end. Anyway, as for Joffrey is not so much a genetic disorder as much the way he was raised and taught by his mother who's a very nasty and vile woman, downright evil.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I definitely think we will see The Wrath of Cersie, especially because I think she's going to be seriously pushed further and further into despair! (But It will be hard for me to publicly root for her! I'll just have to pretend I have no feelings for her!XD)

It seems from the promo next week that Margaery doesn't think this is a good thing, where her Grandmother thinks it is. I know what happens with Margaery next in the book, but I only have small inkling that it will be generally the same.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think she is going dark too... For that matter I never considered her a truly good heroine to start if I'm honest!

Every city she conquers she destroys or abandons with no concern to anyone but the slaves. She does a lot of dark things to get her way, but that is the world she lives in to some degree.

I think she is mostly complex, both dark and light, like most of GRRMS characters. But I hate it when people think of her as some savior or pure heroine!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Didn't look at the promo for I forgot about it! :P... But yeah,i can see Olenna being happy about it..... as i go to look at the promo.... :D

    ReplyDelete
  82. Brace yourself, the battle of queens has just begun.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I was thinking Cersei would try running her out or just making her life miserable. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  84. It was bloody awesome.
But because I knew what would happen, the episode's biggest shocker was:
"is that Tommen?! Damn, that boy has GROWN!" :P
    anyways, what I loved most:
    - the whole entire wedding feast:
    - Oberyn being a badass talking to Cersei and Tywin
    - the dwarf battle sequence was actually better than in the books (and I don't say that a lot)
    - Sansa handing that cup to Tyrion - such a sweet little moment of compassion, I'm really loving how
much more firendly she is towards him here than in the books. Since the show successfully ruined
SanSan, I'm glad they gave us this in return
    - Loras and Jaime's conversation :P and Oberyn flirting with Loras (lol, of course he would)
    - Joffrey's death, duh
not much happening in the episode apart from that, but still loved:
    - Shireen Baratheon - such a cutie pie and now that everyone's so grown up, I believe she's the youngest child in the cast?
    - Roose Bolton reminding Ramsay who's the boss
    - interesting that they made the Boltons know about Bran and Rickon. IIRC they don't know in the books, right? I wonder where that would lead the story and how it will play into the Jon-Stannis-Boltons storyline
Overall, an amazing episode. Keep 'em coming, GoT!

  86. True about Axell Florent. Also, in the books, he was killed because he tried to make peace with the Lannisters, he was a supporter of the Lord of Light.

About Shae, yes, pretty sure she did not get on the ship, guessing she was taken to the Tower of the Hand. But I hope Tyrion had not ended things with her. Now it can never reach the level of betrayal and embarrassment as opposed to when almost without provocation she turned on him in the trial and basically made a public joke out of their most intimate moments.

  87. The show seems to make Cersei gentler, but in the books Joffery's behavior makes a lot more sense when you look at it as the way Cersei would have turned out if she had been born a boy and not restrained all her life. Sadistic? Check. Entitled? Check. Completely out of tune with the feelings of others? Check, double check. Joffery gets it all from mommy dearest. Of course, the biggest example from the book is the "cat incident," when little Joffery murdered a pregnant cat to get at her unborn kittens. Robert rightfully got upset while Cersei was willing to write it off as "some nonsense with a cat." Says it all right there.

  88. Well done Jack Gleeson, only you could have portrayed King Joffrey in such a way that we love to hate him. on another note it would make sense if Lord Tywin was the killer because Joffrey always undermines him, saying how he's done nothing and joff being unstable unlike tommenn (who finally made an appearance since season2) who he much prefers as he can be manipulated far easier and as he's still young he can be carved into the king tywin wants and can be controlled unlike joffrey. however (SPOILER ALERT) it was actually olenna with baelish's help which seemed pointless as the tyrell had nothing more to gain from his death and they already had mad margaery a queen they just wanted a different king for her i guess, tommen. as for littlefinger he has so many plots and stuff going on that until everything unfolds its hard to tell how this specific event played a role in his oberall endgame and the effect of it.

  89. I want to believe that Shae did not get on the ship and is in the TOJ like you said.... The upcoming book scenes with her are so good I would hate if the show cut them! I just do not think they can.... Right?

It will be a different feel than the books no matter, but I think it can still be an intense moment or two with her at the trial or after with Tyrion!

So hard to not give info away when discussing upcoming plot points! XD

  90. I generally agree, except that maybe if she would have been a boy someone like Jaime (getting competitive) may have been more apt to set her straight. It's not that I don't think Joffery has any of Cersie's traits, just that I think she has limits that he doesn't. There are moments in the show where she looks scared and appalled and I think she glosses over what he does, especially when his older, because she knows he could turn around hurt her, where I think she would never do that to him.

  91. *Spoilers*

Yeah they just can't cut it out. All of that has to happen, and Tyrion has to learn that lesson... only then will that twist with Jaime in the end will be earned.

  92. Are you planning on reading AFFC as a standalone?

I know some people do not liek having half the characters in AFFC and half the characters in ADWD.

Someone created a chronological mash-up of the two books if you want to read both at once and get all the characters stories in chronological order.

    You can find it here:

I liked each book as a standalone personally, but reading them together does add something! There are elements that connect and mirror one another if both are read mashed up.

  93. Oh, it hadn't occurred to me to read them together. It's actually a great idea. Thanks for the link. :)
