Idk, after watching all the new sci-fi/fantasy shows this year imho its becoming clear that Fringe has no equal, and may never be replaceable for many years to come if ever. That show was really special.
Loved it as a standalone cotw, but with the wierd ep ordering, I'm guessing that this wasn't supposed to be the season finale - like someone mentioned, perhaps the John L ep was supposed to be the finale instead as that had a more "cliffhangery" feel to it. Still, loved seeing the progression of the "robo/bromance" that even had Kennex at a loss for words at Dorian's awesome gift at the end. I so hope that this show gets a renewal soon...
They weren't actually out of order - as someone else mentioned the producers probably expected they would have gotten an order for more episodes (I'm surprised it didn't even though Bones will be stealing its timeslot) so this would have been merely mid season (or thereabouts).
I really hope they get a season 2, it's a great show with a lot of potential still to be reached IMO.
They have had a twitter campaign all season and last night we had a massive twitter campaign an hour before AH started. We started doing that in the fourth season of Fringe trying to keep it from being cancelled.
It looked like it. About the only thing left open that I saw was that the Wall hadn't been there all that long. John mentioned his father taking him to an ice cream place, I think it was. On the other side of where the Wall is now when he was a kid.
Yeah, with the Insyndicate, The Wall, etc. story lines still open it bugs me, but if cancelled it certainly wouldn't be the worst cancellation I've been through. Especially since I've been prepared for it.
Really hope against the odds they renew though. I'm going to miss John and Dorian so much.
Yep,bugs me too! If nothing else they should do a 4 hour wrap up over 2 nights. It drives me crazy when they leave us hanging with a cliff hanger then the show gets cancelled..
I noticed something curious today, and a quick review of past episodes provided something curiouser. As the episodes passes, the music becomes more and more Blade Runner-esque.
I really could have used a little more spectacle than that, the story was great, the bromance too, but I expected a bit more of a demonstration of Wyman's gift for explosive finales... Great episode though, just missing the litlle something making it awesome
I'm actually happy it didn't end with angst but left it open for better start for Dorian if we get a season two. I was expecting Dorian would be decommed or fail his evaluation but no wyman really wants this show to be more hopeful and uplifting which is refreshing. I hope we get a season two, I need more of John & Anna and Nigel, the Insyndicate
Nope but the show clearly has been setting up things for following seasons, Joel said as much in his interviews. Fringe did something similar as well, if we get a season two they probably will revisit Nigel's part in the story. Wyman said he wanted to set-up several groups with their own motives that aren't connected, like their isn't a main villain.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yeah... anyone else think this wasn't supposed to be the finale?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad John was able to clear his fathers name and found the real killer.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was great seeing Dorian get a 'Glowing' review,it made him so happy!
Well,we didn't get a cliff hanger,we didn't get a glimpse of Kennex & Stahl..I hope we get another season...
With all the episodes out of order it couldn't possibly be left as a season finale or series finale...but it was.
ReplyDeleteI hope this show gets renewed. It has potential to be very good.
ReplyDeleteGreat, it was exactly what it should always be a procedural that is set in the future and I loved the printer twist
ReplyDeleteThe production codes indicate episodes 11, 12, and 13 (tonight) have all been the correct order.
ReplyDeleteAH fans should start a campaign to make sure there is a season 2
ReplyDeleteI miss FRINGE. :'-(
ReplyDeleteProbably the weakest Bad Robot season finale I've seen. Pretty unspectacular.
ReplyDeleteI miss Fringe too, but I'm as into AH as I was with it.
ReplyDeleteIdk, after watching all the new sci-fi/fantasy shows this year imho its becoming clear that Fringe has no equal, and may never be replaceable for many years to come if ever. That show was really special.
ReplyDeleteFringe was great but I was never into it like some fans.

ReplyDeleteIt was in order, but I get the feeling they were hanging on the idea they'd get more episodes than they did.
ReplyDeleteIt any case, I'm kind of glad there was not cliffhanger, until we find out about the show's future.
I expect a season-ending cliffhanger or twist. And it looks like lines in the last scene were added on after the fact.
ReplyDeleteI like that they avoided cliffhangers, probably just in case the show doesn't get renewed, it was a very sweet way to end it in case that happens.

Yep,agreed!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too. If it turns out to be the series finale at least it ended on a happy note.
ReplyDeleteMe Too! I was so depressed when it ended i actually went into a mourning period that lasted a good 6 months.

ReplyDeleteCurious uh?

ReplyDeletemost funny scene was when Kennex lied to Dorian telling him that he told the board he scanned his balls and exposed himself to him

ReplyDeleteI looved the bromance scene at the end. So cute, John loving his leg and Dorian get all choked up.
ReplyDeleteThe John Laroquette episode would have been a much better finale, but I'm thinking that there were plans for a back 9 that never materialized.
