  1. Doctor Who got my pick. However, if I was going to pick 'Other' I'd have gone Torchwood.

  2. Sherlock!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Love Rookie Blue and Continuum and one that isn't on the list was Flashpoint (I believe that was in Toronto?)
I must say Canadian shows are quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

While its hard to choose between Lost Girl, Continuum and Primeval, I HAVE to go with Lost Girl.

For all intents and purposes, while its not as good, nor as complex, its the new buffy.

  8. Downton Abbey even though the 3rd season kicked my ass,it's still my favorite U.K. drama series.

  9. I saw the title and my mind immediately went to Sherlock. No doubt.

(Although I also thoroughly enjoy Downton Abbey, and I plan on watching Luther sometime soon.)

  10. Definitely Doctor Who!! I love this show...but Sherlock comes very close as well...

  11. forgot about flashpoint. haven't seen it but with enrico colantoni (veronica mars, person of interest), i'm sure it's a pretty good series.

    ReplyDelete
  12. yeah canadian shows are pretty good. my all time favourite canadian show is being erica.

  13. Sherlock, Continuum, Packed To The Rafters, Life On Mars, Ashes To Ashes, Death In Paradise, Being Erica, Rookie Blue (need to catch up on that!) And I'll eagerly be anticipating Orphan Black in the future...
I gave up on Doctor Who when David Tennant left.

  14. hmmm... there's heaps- sherlock, packed to the rafters, being erica, rookie blue, continuum, life on mars (U.K,)... also have seen bits and pieces of both doctor who and doc martin. i can say, international shows on the whole are of definite better quality acting-wise and storywise than american shows!

  15. I was abit torn between those 3 too but had to go with Being Erica since it was so relatable and deep

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lost girl, is the one. I love this syfy fantasies

    ReplyDelete
  17. Umm yes I lost interest in Doctor who, as one thing they are taking long time to produce an episodes and it does not have that much as David had

    ReplyDelete
  18. Downton Abbey!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lots of good shows on this list and so many other good shows not included, such as Downton Abbey (UK), Merlin (UK), Being Human (UK), Misfits (UK), Primeval: New World (Canada), Spirited (Australia).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sherlock and Downton Abbey

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lost Girl - Frank, unapologetic and progressive.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'll go with Luther.

Others include Ripper Street, Sherlock, Continuum, Mr. Selfridge, Whitechapel and Death in Paradise.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Doctor Who, but I voted for Being Erica - an unbelievably amazing show, that nobody's gonna vote for, so that's why I voted for it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's impossible to choose between Doctor Who and Sherlock!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Obviously whoever made this poll hasn't heard of Utopia on UK's Channel 4.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sherlock.

Even tho these have ended Fringe, Farscape, Stargate SG1 and Atlantis

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lost Girl, Doctor Who, and Doc Martin. Two of which nobody knows of really, which is a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would suggest it to anyone, my dad got me into it and then I've passed the love on to my sisters and brother. Its got action and heart, cant go wrong and with a brilliant cast.
Loved Being Erica too, it was so unique and well written.

  29. é mais falta aqui no Brasil também

    ReplyDelete
  30. I find Dr. Who is the best followed by Sherlock, Lost Girl.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Other..El Internado Laguna Negra (Spain)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Other- I watch a Canadian show Heartland, on the CBC (I live in an area in the US I can get this channel). Can also see repeats on CMT and sometimes episodes on youtube.

It's a show about horses and family, etc. Based loosely on the Heartland books by Lauren Brooke I read as a young teen.

  33. Lost Girl! The best TV show ever! Is original, unique, addictive, exciting just incredible!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Were those ended ones you mentioned produced in Canada? I know lots of shows are filmed in Canada, but I'm pretty sure they're still US shows?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I really, really loved KING! King was an amazing show and I never understood why Canada canelled it. Its even aired in Austria and Germany - how many Canadian shows can say so?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Your right now that you mention it they are US shows, but not sure about Farscape?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Haven counts right?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Being Erica, without a doubt. Lost Girl is my second fav and the third is Continuum :-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sherlock! Pure brilliance.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, Farscape was originally produced for Australian tv, then later picked up by the Sci-Fi Channel.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Of those listed, I'd pick Sherlock, but The IT Crowd outshines it by just a bit for me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Doctor Who, Torchwood (it can so come back now!), Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Lost Girl, Sanctuary (can be un-cancelled)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm sure there are shows I'm missing...like Haven and Warehouse 13

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thought so but wasn't sure,thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Lost Girl hands down - seamless blend of mythical powers and all-too-human foibles with refreshingly real relationships that ignore usual boundaries of gender, sexuality, even species!

    ReplyDelete
  46. P.S. Anyone who put down any show besides Lost Girl hasn't watched it yet! ;)
[Showcase on Suns and SyFy on Mons]

    ReplyDelete
  47. LOST GIRL - There has not been a series this entertaining since Buffy the vampire slayer and/or Angel. Easily LOST GIRL .............Forever And Then Somemore - NUFF SAID!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lost Girl is great but it's not even in the same league as Continuum. Is Syfy doing such a horrible job advertising that people aren't giving Continuum a chance?!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Warehouse 13!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Life On Mars, no contest...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sherlock for me. I've watched the first 5 eps of Lost Girl from S1, it's good, but just haven't had the chance to catch up since there are so many other shows on my docket. Maybe this summer...

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'd have to say Merlin...the whole show from the cast to the directors to the amazing scenery...i'm still having a hard time accepting this is the last season:(

    ReplyDelete
  53. Filmed in Canada but still is a US show...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not listed is Murdoch Mysteries.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I LOVE LOST GIRL AM ADDICTED TO THIS SHOW JEJEJE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. call the midwife, ripper street, lost girl...

    ReplyDelete
  57. ZOIE PALMER GOD plus ANNA "THE DEMONLURVER" SILK equals DOCCUBUS times ALL FAEDOM equals LOST GIRL............the best Canadian import since TRICIA HELFER aka CAPRICA-SIX!!! metric system 2 US system conversion formula..............nobody 2/27/2013

  58. I really don't know why people say this. Every series of New Who has had roughly the same amount of episodes, give or take. The only real change has been the shift in broadcast for story reasons like Series 7, the last eight episodes of which begin next month.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The best show on television this year without a doubt! I honestly cannot wait to find out what Series Two will end up being about.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Some fantastic British shows missing from this list: Torchwood, Utopia, Ashes to Ashes, Ripper Street, Black Mirror, Wizards vs Aliens, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Being Human and Skins to name just a few.

If they were on the list, it'd have to be either Utopia or Being Human for me. Utopia is so fantastic I would buy the graphic novel at the heart of the series if it were real and this final series of Being Human is the best the show has been since Series Two with a fantastic trio of actors in Damien, Michael and Kate facing a fantastic trio of villains in Phil, Colin and Steven.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ahhh I love Rookie Blue... great cop show that's filmed in Toronto!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I voted for Continuum, but I'm surprised that Haven and Downton Abbey weren't on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Continuum, but where's Utopia?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Rookie Blue all the way!

    ReplyDelete
  65. if its a Canadian show...I'll like it. Lost Girl, Rookie Blue and Flashpoint. Andromeda(an old show also is still my favorite).

    ReplyDelete
  66. I am addicted to doctor who and have all the DVD of the series with the promotional items. I can't wait to see the next episodes, it seems a long time

    ReplyDelete
