Line Of Fire - Cul-De-Sac - Review : It's A Small World

I truly do not think that I could praise this episode more. I sat on the edge of my seat from start to finish; everything about it was amazing!

Starting with the 2020 flashback was so gripping; it gave us a true sense of what had happened previously and set the episode up perfectly.

I liked that even though we had the flashback, we didn’t immediately jump into the present-day continuation of it and had the small moment of Jane and Mike talking to each other after he got hit on in the café.

Clare was so fired up during this episode, and it was so fun to watch; in general, she is someone that is always strong and stands up for what she believes in. However, up until now, we have only really seen her push back against her parents, and it was nice to see that it doesn’t matter who it is; if she doesn’t think something is right, then she will make sure they are aware of it.  Plus, the Natural Deodorant comment was incredibly funny.

I don’t think Clare would admit it, but I think there was a little part of her that actually liked the back and forth with Amara. They each had differing ways of going undercover but eventually worked together to ensure the safety of their detainee. I really liked their scene together at the end where she thought he was asking her out. I hope he comes back in future episodes because despite her life being turned upside down by everything that has happened with Logan, the two probably would be good together.

Honestly my heart broke for Mike this episode, so much is going on that he doesn't know about and the woman that he loves just very pointedly shut him down and blamed him for their sons 'death'. I hope that once they find out the truth, that Jack is alive, then maybe Jane will start to forgive him. They are too good together to not end up back together.

The main story in this episode was so gripping. Even though it has only been five episodes, I’ve come to learn that trusting Mike’s gut about something always lands you with being correct about what is going on. What it also shows is that no matter what happens, you will always be on the job in your head. Mike was meant to retire, and he was still thinking about the fact that they got the wrong guy.

Micah and Russell working on this together was so nice to watch. After them leaning on each other last episode and being more honest with each other, it was the perfect way to show that they still trust each other immensely. Other than the overarching question of what happened to Logan and the rest of the agents, I think what makes this such a gripping show to watch is the fact that you always have more questions outside of the main ones that you want answered.

For example, I could not be more invested in the next episode knowing that Mike is going to have to come face to face with the guy that he approved and who tried to kill the President. Will he try and kill him again? Will Mike actually find out about what? What are Micah and Russell going to do? There are so many questions surrounding this dinner that force you to want to tune in to have them solved.

We finally got a little bit more information about why the agents are being killed. Sadly, not enough was revealed before Stevens was murdered. I literally saw the shot coming and it still made me jump when the gun went off. I felt really bad for Jane and Nia, especially since they had no idea where the shot came from.

I quite literally clapped at my screen at the end of this episode because I was so invested in the ending. The moment that Nia found out that Jack worked at the dentist next door, I was so happy. I don’t even know if I’m rooting for Jack to be found or for him not to be, but I am so glad that someone finally knows that Jack is alive.

I am truly so excited to see whether the secret that Micah and Russell, and the secret that Nia found out, are going to come into the light next episode or if they are going to stay in the shadows with them. It’s no wonder why this show is so great with mysteries like this!
