This was such a cinematic episode of Chicago PD. I almost can’t believe how gripping and jaw dropping this episode was.
Imani’s search for her sister has been a prominent storyline in this season and although we haven’t reached the end of it yet, it certainly has ramped up the intensity. I have loved watching Voight and Imani’s relationship grow over the course of this season.
The first few scenes of this episode were perfect, they were picking up each other's little actions and it was hilarious watching Voight lick what Imani had given him. There is a childlike innocence when the pair are together despite the severity of the case they are investigating.
Arienne Mandi has been an incredible addition to the cast this season and her acting skills were displayed fully in this episode. I was truly in awe of how good her facial expressions and body language were when she saw the picture of Shari and every moment since.
The panic attacks and the sucking on the sweets were so real, it takes an incredible actor to command screen time whilst only displaying stress for the extended period of time in this episode.
The casting for Shari was absolutely spot on, I would truly believe that the pair are sisters.
Shari’s life has clearly been incredibly complicated since she was taken with her kidnapper pretending to be her father before he became her husband. The box of all her things gave such a good indication to what has happened to her since she was taken. It was a great way for showing what happened in the past and allowing Imani to try and learn who her sister was now.
The end of this episode was such a perfect curveball that I wasn’t expecting. I am so glad that this storyline is bleeding over into the season finale. I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic episode to round out one of the shows best seasons.
