Game release dates and platforms are correct at time of posting and are subject to change.

You can find a list of the major game releases for September at the bottom of the article. We have also highlighted our picks for what we will be playing and what we think could be the best of the month. Let us know what games you are looking forward to in the comments below

Staff Pick - Starfield - 6th September

CJ: To say that Starfield is the most anticipated game of 2023 and the most anticiapted for XBOX and Bethesda for the past decade is truly an understatement. A lot is riding on the success of Starfield, but from the trailers, gameplay and first impressions, it's safe to say that Starfield may meet the hype. Some dub it as Skyrim in space, I think it's going to be something more. This may be the best RPG of 2023, and keep watch for our upcoming review!

Staff Pick - Fae Farm - 8th September

Chris C: If you're looking for a cozy farming sim with some combat, then Fae Farm ticks all the boxes. I'd been waiting for this one for a little while, and if the first four chapters that were sent to SpoilerTV for preview are any indication, then I'll be dungeoning in Azoria for dozens of hours. Staff Pick - Lies of P - 19th September

Chloe: The demo that was released was a fun intro to what we can expect from this Soulslike Action-RPG. I'm excited to dive more deeply into the story of this dark gothic version of Pinocchio as well as into the Lie System the game will be utilising.

Staff Pick - Mortal Kombat 1 - 19th September

CJ: I haven't enjoyed or wanted to play a Mortal Kombat since MK3. But after seeing this, my opinion has changed. Mortal Kombat 1 is a re-invention of the franchise, a re-telling of the story and with next generation graphics to boot. All of the trailers just keep getting better in revealing the gameplay, with fan favourite characters and brutal combat. Mortal Kombat 1 may be the best fighter of 2023.

Staff Pick - EA Sports FC 24 - 29th September

Milo: No longer FIFA; FC 24 is a recharged game sim without the tagline. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't planning on getting this day one - but even with its issues it's a game that any football fan will have a great time with. Career Mode remains addictive as ever; and the ultimate team mode lets you assemble a dream squad of players. I can't wait to see the reinvention that this game undergoes this year in its latest iteration - especially with the emphasis on the Women's teams towards the end of the year.
