ABC has yet to decide the fate of The Rookie: Feds and Home Economics due to the uncertainty of the writers strike. Both shows have performed well, with The Rookie: Feds featuring Niecy Nash as the only Black actor in a singular-lead hourlong broadcast series, and Home Economics ticking up in the ratings with Abbott Elementary as a lead-in. ABC has four series not returning, and their comedy pilots have not met the high standard set by Abbot Elementary, leaving the door open for Home Economics.
