Boiling Point - Full Cast Announced

Full casting has been revealed for Boiling Point, as filming begins on the brand new five-part television series for BBC One and BBC iPlayer in Manchester.

As previously announced, Vinette Robinson (Carly), Stephen Graham (Andy) and Hannah Walters (Emily) will reprise their roles from the multi award-winning film. They will be joined by the film’s co-stars Ray Panthaki (Freeman), Gary Lamont (Dean), Áine Rose Daly (Robyn), Taz Skylar (Billy), Daniel Larkai (Jake) Stephen McMillan (Jamie), Hannah Traylen (Holly) and Izuka Hoyle (Camille).

Joining them are new cast members Stephen Odubola (Johnny), Shaun Fagan (Bolton), Joel MacCormack (Liam) and Ahmed Malek (Musa). BAFTA award-winner Cathy Tyson joins the cast as Carly’s mum Vivian, and newcomer Missy Haysom makes their television debut playing Kit.

Boiling Point picks up six months on from where the film left off and sees Sous Chef Carly as Head Chef at her own restaurant, with many of Andy’s original team alongside her. As the pressure mounts to keep the restaurant full, Carly begins to feel the magnitude of responsibility that comes with running her own place.

Boiling Point’s executive producers say: “We are over the moon to get the band back together, along with the creative team of Phil, James and Matt Lewis (DOP) we have our incredible original cast back. Not only that, we are excited to introduce new members to the Boiling Point family. We are immensely grateful to the BBC for giving us this moment and we are all raring to get going on the series.”

The creative team on Boiling Point have brought together the finest cast, featuring established talent and introducing some breathtakingly good new cast members who will no doubt become household names.”

When it was first released as a film in 2021, Boiling Point was met with huge critical acclaim and was nominated worldwide for over 30 awards in multiple categories, including four BAFTA nominations and 11 BIFA nominations, delivering four BIFA wins, two National Film Awards, four Taormina Film Festival Awards and most recently six Big Screen Nominations and a

Breakthrough British Filmmaker win for Barantini and a Scottish Bafta Best Female Actor win for Izuka Hoyle in November 2022.

The series reunites the film’s co-writer and director Philip Barantini, who will direct episodes one, two and five and co-writer James Cummings, alongside the film’s producers, Hester Ruoff and Bart Ruspoli who all serve as executive producers on the series with Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham. Rebecca Ferguson is executive producer and commissioner for the BBC. Director, Mounia Akl joins the team to direct episodes three and four and Graham Drover is the series producer. Dan Cadan is the co-writer on episode two, Alex Tenenbaum and Nathaniel Stevens are the writers of episode three and Grace Ofori-Attah is the writer of episode five. The production designer is Adam Tomlinson, director of photography is Matt Lewis, costume designer is Jessica Schofield and the hair and make-up designer is Sue Michael. International distribution will be handled by BBC Studios.
