Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Blue Flu & Balancing - Advance Preview

Brooklyn Nine-Nine made it’s long-awaited return last week, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The final season is filled with important discussions, putting a hilarious spin while bringing attention to some of the world’s biggest conversations.

This week’s pair of episodes are no exception — it continues that blossoming trend. John C. McGinley continues his role as the head of the patrolmen’s union, letting the ridiculousness of his claims bring the entertainment to the screen, as well as the upsetting realization that there are people like this in reality.

"Blue Flu" delves into the how far Frank O'Sullivan (John C. McGinley) is willing to go to allow cops to victimize themselves, as Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) rallies the 99 to foil his plans, even if it means giving up a secret he planned on taking to the grave. Meanwhile, Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) begins to think about his own mortality and Terry's (Terry Crews) stomach makes a lot of noise. It's an episode that makes you think through the laughter.

"Balance" lives up to its name — where last episode has its deep moments, this one is much more lighthearted. Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) both have exciting things going on at work (arch nemesis making a return, anyone?), but struggle to figure out what to do when Mac is all out of sitters. Enter Scully. Meanwhile, Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) helps Captain Holt with a Kevin issue.

All in all, it's a couple of episodes you certainly don't want to miss!

DIALOGUE TEASES

  • “I actually don’t pronounce the ‘h’ in ‘whoop’.”
  • “I think you just made Scully horny.”
  • “Life is a cruel prank played on the living. Death mocks us all.”
  • “A digital phallus portrait? What’s that?”
  • “It’s like you’ve never had to mess with a medical device in order to trick your life insurance agent.”
  • “We’re gonna blow-dry these bitches straight to hell.”
Be sure to watch the next two episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine tomorrow, August 18th @ 9:00 PM EST on NBC!
