"Well, I was kind of hoping we could feel sorry for ourselves for... I don't know, like an hour?"

Council of Dads is yet another show in the emotional-family-drama vein that came with the success of This Is Us. We've seen many of them fail but that applies to every sub-genre out there. In this case, the stories were a little rushed which didn't help people engage fully with the characters. Perhaps this is part of the reason it got recently canceled, but it was still an enjoyable season with a satisfying finale.

We pick up right where the last episode left us, Theo continues to be the ever-annoying teenager, unable to realize that, whether his feelings are valid or not, the middle of a hurricane is not the time to impose them on everyone else; and Robin continues to be a little too perfect to be fully believable. Pretty much the moment Anthony arrives, we jump to the next day when the storm has passed and some of the issues they'd been dealing with are resolved, there's still a lot to figure out but this show has a pretty positive take on even the most horrible events.

If you've come this far, this finale will definitely be worth your time, and if you're still thinking of whether to watch the show or not, don't let the cancelation deter you. If you're looking for a little escape, these are some lovely stories with pretty loveable characters (played by a great cast), that will cheer you up and keep you entertained throughout.

"I don't think this council should be a one way street."

Don't miss the series finale of Council of Dads this, Thursday, July 2nd, at (08:00PM - 09:00PM).
