Shadowhunters - A Kiss From A Rose - Advance Preview: "Of Course You Matter"

This week on Shadowhunters, Clary gets to spend a lot of close time with two of the most important men in her life: Jace and Jonathan. After finally getting away from Jonathan, she gets a few moments respite on a cute ice skating date with Jace, but will Jonathan and Clary be able to stay away from each other, or will the strange bond between the two of them cause them to seek each other out? This episode is full of red herrings, especially when it comes to Clary, and what the audience (or possibly the characters) first sees may not be the whole truth.

After struggling with his sense of mortality in previous episodes, Magnus turns to the only person who may be able to help alter his fate: Lorenzo. Unfortunately for the both of them, the consequences of possibly giving Magnus his magic back may be steeper than either of them expected. Magnus' behaviour concerns Alec, and as they work together tracking down a lead on Jonathan, he finds out just what lengths Magnus is willing to go to in order to return to his former self and what is truly important to him.

Elsewhere, Maia and Jordan await assistance at the Jade Wolf and Izzy further investigates Operation: Heavenly Fire.

With this episode, the main overarching plots and themes of 3B are finally starting to be explored and the stakes for everyone are increased with the sacrifices and decisions they make. Shadowhunters airs Mondays at 8.00 on Freeform.

And with that I'm going to leave you with a few teasers to tide you over until the episode:
- The fate of a character is left in question by the end of this episode.
- "I think I just forget myself around you."
- Isaiah Mustafa puts in some great acting in this episode. As does Alisha Wainwright.
- Some of the relationship dynamics explored are....questionable to say the least.
- "You really are despicable, aren't you?"
