Deadly Class - Noise, Noise, Noise - Review: His Reputation is a Lie + POLL

Naked Russian men, condoms in fish tanks, giant dildos -- you know, just all the normal things you would find at a classic teen party. At least it is when the party is full of budding assassins.

So anything exciting happen? Well, Billy told Petra he has feelings for her and she didn't return them in kind. At least, it would seem that way since she immediately goes upstairs to a bedroom with Viktor.

Lex got read the riot act by Shad, who revealed his real heritage, and Saya and Marcus are forced into an impromptu game of seven minutes in heaven. Although, before anything juicy can occur Marcus decides to confront Willie.

IDENTITY CRISIS

Fitting in to King's Dominion is no easy task and one Marcus struggles with more than most due to his reluctance to devolve into a "dickhead" like a majority of the others students. He has issues with bullies as shown by the way he frees a nerdy Shad from a trash can, douses Brandy in the face with a drink for spewing racist vitriol, and calls out Lex for his pompous preachings despite being nothing special himself.

Benjamin Wadsworth is incredibly endearing as Marcus, even in his darkest moments I find myself inclined to root for him. But where he struggles is in his pride and his desire to find a pack. Marcus doesn't do well on his own as made evident by his desire to help people in the hopes they will return the favor in the form of friendship. But in a school like King's Dominion, almost everyone is out for themselves. To find a drop of genuineness is like searching the haystack for a needle.

Surprisingly, Willie may be one of the few since his hardened killer reputation is actually a facade for his real pacifist beliefs. We discover his story is as tragic as they come. As a boy, he was forced to use a machine gun to kill home intruders but he mistakenly shot his father too in the mix. His mother changed the tale so it appeared Willie was killing for revenge and thus garnered him the clout to make him a legend at the academy.

It's hard for Marcus to watch him reap the benefits of his kill until he learns why. He's empathetic to Willie's story and perhaps, given that Willie helps him run from the cop's at the episode's end, their friendship could be the real deal.

DEN OF THE WOLF

During a poison-based pop quiz, Maria has the opportunity to let Chico die. At the last second, her emotions get the better of her. I think part of her finds comfort in having Chico around even she no longer loves him, she cannot die the protection he offers her. This backfires when after a supposed night of romance, Chico kills someone right in front of her.

While wiping blood-splatter off of her face he reminds her of what he is capable of and informs her he knows she tried to coax Marcus into killing him.

THOUGHTS & OBSERVATIONS

- The last thing I expected to see, and yet something that totally makes sense for the tone of this show, was an end scene stinger where a guy is making love to a goat. No idea who this creepy animal-banging-mullet-having-Joe-Dirt-look-a-like is but I fear for Marcus now more than ever. But hey, he looks like he might be Brandy's type.

A new episode of Deadly Class titled "Snake Pit" airs January 30th on Syfy.
