The Facts of Life, a classic 1980's sitcom is eyeing a reboot from Sony Pictures TV, with Appian Way (Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson) and Jessica Biel's Iron Ocean Films producing. The project is in early stages and is currently looking for a writer.

Additionally, ALF, another 80's sitcom is being rebooted at Warner Bros Television. The project is in early development without a writer or network attached.

Norman Lear has also signed a new deal with Sony to reimagine his old shows, "I'm not about to reimagine Good Times or The Jeffersons," Lear tells The Hollywood Reporter. The plan is to mine lesser-known titles from Lear's career. Producing partner Brent Miller and Lear have not formally pitched anything to Sony yet.

The Facts Of Life, a spinoff of Diff’rent Strokes, aired on NBC from 1979 to 1988, making it one of the longest-running sitcoms of the 1980s. Charlotte Rae starred as Edna Garrett, a housemother at the fictional Eastland School, an all-female boarding school in Peekskill, New York. Garrett later is promoted to school dietician, and four of the girls move into new quarters above the cafeteria. She eventually leaves the school and opens her own business, with help from her girls. The series focused on such issues that teenage girls face as drug use, sex, eating disorders and peer pressure.
