MOVIES: Downton Abbey - Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips & Stephen Campbell Moore Join Cast

Focus and producer Carnival Films said today that Oscar nominee Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips and Stephen Campbell Moore have joined the cast.

The original cast including Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery and Hugh Bonneville are already set to reprise their upstairs/downstairs roles. Michael Engler is directing the film, which was written by series creator Julian Fellowes.

The untitled show is set in a world where the global space race never ended.

Shantel VanSanten (Shooter, One Tree Hill) will play Karen Baldwin, the wife of astronaut Edward Baldwin (Kinnaman). The two are a prominent NASA couple.

Wrenn Schmidt (The Looming Tower, Person of Interest) will play a NASA engineer named Margo Madison.




Bosch - Season 5 - Jacqueline Obradors to Recur

Jacqueline Obradors (NYPD Blue) will play the fast learning and good at hiding her nerves, Detective Christina Vega, who’s been brought up to work in homicide. She feels the promotion has been a long time coming and is determined to prove her worth as quickly as possible.

Fresh Off The Boat - Season 5 - Jaleel White to Guest

Jaleel White will guest star in an upcoming fifth season episode of ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat,” Variety has learned. He will play Calvin, a sarcastic and under-appreciated general manager of a car dealership, where Louis (Randall Park) buys an RV. Calvin does all the work for the dealership but is forced to play second-fiddle whenever his boss comes to visit.

Dickinson - Jane Krakowski to Co-Star in Emily Dickinson Apple Comedy Series

Jane Krakowski is set to co-star opposite Hailee Steinfeld in Dickinson, Apple’s straight-to-series half-hour comedy about 1800s poet Emily Dickinson. Krakowski will play Mrs. Dickinson, Emily’s mother.

Written by Smith, Dickinson is set during Emily Dickinson’s era with a modern sensibility and tone. It takes viewers into the world of Emily (Steinfeld), audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit in to her own time through her imaginative point of view.

MOVIES: A Quiet Place Sequel - Release Date Revealed & Top Gun 2 Pushed Back a Year

Paramount's high-profile Top Gun sequel is being pushed back a year, and will now hit theaters June 26, 2020, instead of July 12, 2019.

Also, A Quiet Place sequel will open in theaters on May 15, 2020. John Krasinski, who directed A Quiet Place, is writing the follow-up. A director hasn't been announced.




The Fix - KJ Smith to Recur in ABC Legal Drama

KJ Smith (Dynasty) will play Charlie, Ezra’s executive assistant. The Fix centers on Maya Travis (Robin Tunney), an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder.

NCIS alums Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are reuniting to executive produce MIA, a new detective drama in the works at CBS. The network has put in development the hourlong MIA, from writer/executive producer Shepard Boucher (Upload), and CBS Television Studios.

Written by Boucher, in MIA, when a newly minted homicide detective is assigned to an experienced, by-the-book partner to solve cases in Miami, she struggles to keep the personal entanglements of her final undercover assignment from jeopardizing her future.

Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara and Jayden Rey, the trio who played Roseanne and Dan Conner’s grandchildren on the rebooted and now-canceled Roseanne last season, are coming back. ABC confirmed that the trio are set as series regulars on The Conners, the Roseanne Barr-free spinoff that premieres this fall.

Deadline have revealed that Adam Brody (The O.C.) has joined the cast of Sky's new Fast & The Furious-style drama Curfew, which will exclusively air on Charter Communications via its Spectrum Originals in 2019. The drama also stars Billy Zane and Miranda Richardson.

Brody will play mysterious megalomaniac millionaire Max Larssen in the street race drama, which will air on Sky One and also stars Titanic star Billy Zane and The Hour’s Miranda Richardson.

Warriors - Teachers Drama from Michael Narducci in Development at ABC with Regina King to Direct

ABC is developing a drama series with Regina King attached to direct and executive produce, Variety has learned exclusively.

Currently titled “Warriors,” the one-hour project hails from Michael Narducci. It takes place in a Midwestern community where two friends–a semi-retired NFL player and an idealistic high school principal–will attempt to overcome their conflicting styles of teaching as they mentor a new generation and confront the long buried sins of their past.

ABC is developing Best Wishes, an hourlong fantasy drama from writer-directors David Posamentier and Geoff Moore (Better Living Through Chemistry), Random Hill and ABC Studios.

Written by Posamentier and Moore, Best Wishes tells the story of a pragmatic, once successful man, Nick Day, who thinks the notion of wishes is a waste of time due to a personal tragedy he’s recently endured. But just as everything in his life is crumbling around him, things get more complicated when he’s approached by a potentially crazy woman claiming to be in the business of granting wishes. And she needs Nick’s help.

Mom - Season 6 - Kristen Johnston Returning for 3 Episodes

Kristen Johnston will reprise her role as Tammy Diffendorf, Bonnie’s (Allison Janney) foster sister who landed in prison because she attempted to rob an Outback Steakhouse. Johnston will be featured in three episodes this season.

“She’s going to get out of prison and live with Bonnie and Christy [Anna Faris],” explains creator/showrunner Gemma Baker. “It’s going to be really fun.”
